This is by far the best kimchi fried rice and fire pork gimbap I've ever had! I ordered through DoorDash for pick-up since my husband was unwell, and I needed a little time out of the house. Seoul 1979 was only 7-10 minutes away, and I was craving something that felt like a homemade meal rather than fast food. They absolutely delivered! The young lady at the front handed me my food and let me know it had just been prepared, so it was still hot. She was very soft-spoken and polite. I believe her mom came out briefly to greet some regulars, which shows how much they value the community. She even remembered their orders--it was such a thoughtful touch! The food hit the spot, and I'll definitely be back. I usually stick to what I know, but this place has me wanting to explore their entire menu. It's tucked away in a corner, so look for Hot Bunz, turn into the parking lot, then hook a right and a left. You order at the counter, and there's plenty of seating if you'd like to dine in.For the price, they give you a very generous portion. I couldn't even finish it all in one sitting and saved some for the next day--it was just as amazing reheated! Highly recommend checking this place out.

My wife and I decided to stop in when we noticed the restaurant tucked in the back of a small strip mall. The area is fairly small with a handful of tables, but it was perfectly setup. You order your food up at the counter and it is brought over to you, but the staff is more than willing to answer questions. We ended up splitting a few different things; the bulgogi gimbap, the bulgogi cupbap, kimchi fried rice, and the fried gyoza. It was all incredible. The food came out fresh and all had amazing flavors. I absolutely plan on going back and trying more of this delicious food.

Came in on a Friday around lunch time and it wasn't busy. The inside was very clean with several tables. The menu had different gimbaps, Korean street foods, stews, and plated items. There were plenty of vegetarian and seafood options. Loved that the menu had hottoek and sausage-rice skewers! The staff was helpful and told me it would be a 5-10 minute wait. Food came out faster than the 10 minutes. I got the Seoul 1979 gimbap and bulgogi gimbap. The rolls were huge! Filled with lots of veggies, like carrots, cucumber. Wished there was a little more egg or ham in the Seoul gimbap. But the bulgogi had lots of meat in it and the bulgogi was tender and sweet. Definitely some great gimbap for the price. Hope to be back to try their other menu items!

The food was good and flavorful. There's both a Korean and Japanese menu. A pretty big variety to choose from. We opted for: usual chicken teriyaki for the kiddos, bimbimbap, pepperfin, my spicy roll, and edamame.Bimbimbap: comparable to those major Korean restaurants (if not even better). My son loved the bulgogi meat. Flavorful and he was asking for more.Chicken Teriyaki and rice: This is a staple we order at almost any restaurant. The chicken prices were small which we like bc less cutting I have to do. The teriyaki sauce was really good. Not too sweet.Pepperfin - I wasn't expecting too much bit the flavorful sauce was amazing. The jalapeño had just the right amount of spice. We definitely would not mind coming back for lunch.

Mom and pop Korean joint for street food I would say. It's kind of hidden if you don't look into the plaza. I got one of their combos and it was pretty worth it. Korean food is expensive and it's not always worth it. If I'm going to pay a bunch of money I want it to at least be worth it! I ordered to go and everything was so fresh and hot still. The lady was very nice on the phone and the same in person. Hotteok- so fresh and crispy! I just didn't care for the chocolate sauce. I ordered a combo that consisted of:tobboeki with fish cakes- this dish is mild spicy and very sweet. I would prefer it to not be so sweet but I think the fish cakes made it sweeter. It was a good amount of fish cakes to the tobboeki. The tobboeki was sooooo good. Cooked perfectly chewy. There was a full egg cut in half as well. Fried vegetables and shrimp tempura. So crunchy and hot. Cooked to perfection. Vegetable gimbap- it was the perfect amount of everything and so fresh. Only thing was that it was falling apart and I had to shove the entire piece into my mouth, I couldn't eat half at a time. I am now a forever customer if I ever crave Korean food, and I don't even care for Korean food.

Found this location on yelp on our road trip home from Tahoe back to SF and decided to try this place as we can eat Gimbop and drive. Ordered on door dash and they had our order ready in about 15 mins. We ordered: 1. House special: Not sure why this is their special as it was the least special compared to the 3 that we got. It has some ham but was the least flavorful. 2. Bulgogi: I really liked this one but the Bulgogi was a bit on the saltier side. I liked it a lot but my fiance thought it was too salty. I think the average person would like this though. Very flavorful bulgogi and perfectly cooked. Great crunch with the veggies. 3. Tuna: This one was by far the best one! Tuna is traditionally how it's eaten anyways so probably why I liked it the most. The tuna was flavorful but not overly seasoned. Excellent crunch from the veggies. The size of the gimbop was also huge. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Overall, excellent gimbop. The price is very fair for the huge size of the gimbop. Excellent quality and would definitely would be back if I'm in the area or coming back from Tahoe again.

Everything we ordered was so delicious! We got the kimchi jjigae, mandu guk, and hotteok. I highly recommend the kimchi jjigae, especially when it's cold out. The mandu guk was equally as tasty and I recommend it to those who might not like kimchi as much and you're looking for a good soup. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotteok. I was expecting it to be really sweet but it was just the right balance of sweetness! We'll definitely be coming again!

The following is my updated post/review, that is being posted AFTER the business owner replied to my original review below:As shown below, the owner replied to me with his response of "... I remember your family because I been known your dad and mom for a long time :)...". I just wanted to clarify on this portion, as this was his huge assumption. My original review below was based on my OWN experience that was with my own crew (and, my parents do not know the owners). Also, I don't think that portion (replying to customer's review as that way) was necessary. I am posting this updated review just for my clarification (I am keeping the same rating as before).
