I wish I had more time to sit and enjoy Sana'a but decided a quick stop to grab a few bites and coffees was going to have to be enough.I was greeted when I walked in and immediately noticed how delicious it smelled when I walked in. I wasn't familiar with the menu but my eyes were drawn to a latte with cinnamon, ginger and cardamom. I also grabbed a coffee with cardamom and cream which my husband enjoyed. The chicken Mushkan is AWESOME. It is so flavorful-savory with a slight tart bite fromsome spice that I can't identify. I wish I had ordered a dozen of those things!I tried a spinach feta pastry which was also delightful and really enjoyed the baklava as well. Next time, aside from the dozen chicken Mushkan, I'm going to try their other pastries, especially the biscoff cheesecake and their honeycomb cake. The space is nice and welcoming, and great for coffee and dessert. The area is a little dicey, and parking can be tough on 9th, but I was able to find a spot a block and a half away. Highly recommend trying them out! The coffee is different with the spices and the desserts look out of this world.

Located in Downtown, it's all metered, street parking nearby, which can be challenging to find. However, I easily consider this one of the best places I've had coffee in Downtown Sac.I ordered the Sana'a Latte and the Rose Milk Cake. The latte was creamy and tasted strong. I enjoyed it (even though I couldn't really taste the cardamom and cinnamon within the drink, but I did taste a hint of ginger). I was also asked if the normal level of sweetness was fine, which I thought was a nice option they offer. I requested no sweetness, but I'll likely get it as it was intended the next time I order it. They don't have the cost of their baked goods/desserts, but I believe the piece of cake was around $10 based off my total. The cake was delicious! (It's very moist from the milk, so that texture may not be for everyone, but I enjoyed it.) Service was friendly. There was a good amount of seating; however, they were so many people dining in when I visited that there were only a couple tables available. It's nicely decorated as well. They are very busy, and I anticipate it will continue to be this way. The coffee paired with the dessert was absolutely wonderful! I will definitely be back time and time again.

Food: so many options, sweet & savory. Saffron milk cake: (4/5) The saffron flavor was prominent, the cake was milky, like a tres leches. $7.99. pistachio cheesecake: (1/5) Expected a strong pistachio flavor, but it was not noticeable based on the taste. The 'cheesecake' part tasted like a traditional cheesecake but a bit on the sourer side - it had a bit of a weird taste, wasn't a fan. Then there was a thin layer of I assume pistachio cheesecake but again, the pistachio flavor wasn't there for me. honestly couldn't tell it was pistachio if it wasn't for the color. Perhaps just make the whole cheesecake part a pistachio flavor with a pistachio base instead of a graham cracker base. $8.49also the slice was very thin for the price.Sana'ani (3/5): Was looking for a traditional drip coffee, and this seemed to be the closest option based on scanning the menu quickly. No one to ask for recommendations nor were we asked if we had any questions. 12 oz. $4.99. Ambiance: Not a fan of their seating and tables or maybe they have too many in a small space. It made it difficult to squeeze in and get to our table b/c of the seating and the seats weren't occupied, but you can't push them in b/c of the table's base which blocks you from pushing the empty chairs in all the way. it's all in the design. felt very cramped inside. For orders, they should call out names, always. Parking was a nightmare and had to circle around the block a couple times and ultimately ended up parking a couple blocks away near a park. metered parking of course. Overall, I would be interested in trying their other milk cake options. They're a bit on the pricey side, but I'd really have to be craving it, would need to be when they're not busy to put up w/the parking situation.

I am always on the hunt for good coffee shops and this place exceeded my expectations! Let me just start by saying I don't like to make the trip to downtown Sacramento and I like to stay clear of it but I am glad I made the exception to check out this place ! When I first walked in I was greeted and acknowledged. The interior decoration of this cafe was very nice , you can tell a lot of effort went into it , from the chandeliers to the beautiful small detail Arabic calligraphy I met a friend here and the service was very fast , they brought us our drinks and sweets.I ordered a Yemeni Latte and it was delicious, my friend ordered the Adeni chai and she also liked hers .For dessert we tried both the pistachio and rose cake and they were good .Just a note : street or garage parking . Also loved the Quran playing the background and then after that Islamic Nasheeds . Really perfected the overall vibe Will definitely be back inshAllah and will recommend it to all friends and family .

I stopped in while I was in the area for some meetings. It's a cute cafe on the corner of K and 9th and they have drinks as well as sweet and savory food items. When I walked in there was a family standing near the register, who I thought was waiting to order. After a few minutes a different customer let me know they weren't in line and so I moved up to the counter. It was a bit awkward because I wasn't greeted when I came in and even when I was at the register it took a bit for anyone to acknowledge me. Even a quick "We'll be right with you" or "Welcome in, can we answer any questions" would have been great.I opted for an iced chai with regular milk ($8.47 after tip) and took some photos while I waited for it to be made. They have a lot of indoor seating as well as a few tables outside. It's a very cute and cozy spot. When my drink was ready it just kind of sat there for a bit- they hadn't asked for my name and didn't call out my order when it was completed. There were a few other customers at the same time, so I didn't want to assume it was for me. After a couple more minutes the person who originally took my order (not the person who made it) called out to me that it was ready. The drink was flavorful and was a good size with a cute lid on top.I would love to try some of their food offerings in the future. It would be nice for them to add a food menu or label the prices along with the item names in the cases. It all looked delicious, but I tend to order without thinking and then have sticker shock if I don't know the prices ahead of time.I'm excited to see how this cafe grows as they're open longer.

The Yemeni coffee scene is really expanding here in Sacramento! I'm here for all the pistachio lattes. We came early on a Saturday morning so we were able to find metered parking right in front. This took over the spot of a previous bakery so it's a nice corner spot but this particular section of K Street is pretty rundown these days. I hope they'll still find success here regardless! There are plenty of seats inside so it's pretty spacious. We already knew what we wanted - the pistachio latte and biscoff latte. The cashier seemed a little bit lost or maybe new, taking a while to ring us up. They have a beautiful display of various cakes and pastries but we picked a red velvet cookie for our kids to share. The cashier was having trouble finding it in the POS so it seemed like they just made up some price, and it was RIDICULOUS - $7.80 for one tiny cookie!!! It cost more than the drink. That was really off-putting. The other guy working was nicer though. They did make another mistake unfortunately, and made our drink without oatmilk, but he was nice enough to make a new one for no charge. If they were going to lie about it or charge for a new one that would've definitely made me mad! So despite the absurd cookie price I'll still give a 3-star. The drinks itself were pretty good, and very true to the flavor. I liked the drizzles they used. The only downside is it didn't have a lot of ice, so not quite cold enough to my liking. Overall decent spot but I probably won't be back too often because of the paid street parking. Hopefully they will work on training their staff and iron out the kinks so people don't get charged $7 for a cookie.

This is me and my coworkers' go-to spot! I have had their drinks, savory baked goods, as well as sweet items. I've had both their chicken roll and their triangle chicken pastry, and both were delicious! The seasoning was unique as the inside had sumac, and I liked how the meat in the chicken roll was shredded. I've also had their carrot baklava slice. It was very moist and tasty; a bit too sweet for me. Lastly, I ordered their strawberry lemonade and this was the biggest disappointment for me. I did not like it at all. The lemonade did not taste like lemonade and it tasted more like banana than strawberry for some reason. I could already tell by the color that it probably wouldn't taste like a normal strawberry lemonade. As weeks have passed, they've gotten faster at service which is great. I love the ambiance of this spot and all the ethnic decor.

Sana'a cafe is such a beautiful new addition to the downtown area. They offer Yemeni coffees that are delicious! I am so glad they're not just a beautiful coffee shop, but they're also tasty. The service is quick and you can tell they know about their coffees and drink selections .The dessert variety is just as cute, and tastes very rich. We had the Dubai cake and biscoff cheesecake. The biscoff was my favorite. The Dubai had a great crust and chocolate top but the middle tastes a little too cream cheesy to me. It's still great though! My coworkers liked it . The other cakes were soaked in milk and kind of too wet for my friend but I do love a tres leches cake and that's what it reminds me of. All in all, it's my new go to place when I want to shy away from my regular coffee shops

Authentic, Flavorful, and Full of Culture - Sana'a CaféSana'a Café is such a gem! My boyfriend and I stopped by for a quick coffee and dessert, and we were blown away by the flavors and overall experience.I had the strawberry milk cake, and it was so fresh, moist, and perfectly balanced--not overly sweet, just incredibly delicious. I can only imagine how good the rest of their pastries are!We also ordered their iced lattes made with premium organic Yemeni coffee, and they were amazing. I love the blend of cardamom, ginger, and cinnamon, giving it a warm, spiced flavor that felt so comforting. What I really appreciated was the option to adjust the sweetness--I love my coffee unsweetened, and it was still so flavorful. The vibe here is super welcoming and full of culture, from the friendly staff to the authentic flavors. If you're looking for a great spot to enjoy quality coffee and delicious pastries, Sana'a Café is definitely worth a visit!
