Maybe I am a little biased too as per previous reviewer. I went to my first real live Derby Bout last month and I thought it was phenomenal. Sacred City totally detroyed their opponent, more than doubling them in points. I left feeling very inspired, especially after talking to one of the Fresh Meat players boyfriend, who encouraged me to attend tryouts after expressing my interested in Roller Derby.Aside from going skating last month for fun, I hadn't really been on quad skates since 3rd grade... but I summoned the courage to go to tryouts.Everyone in the league is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, outgoing, and very very friendly. It's easy to see amongst the coaches and players alike that they are truly committed to the sport, their fans, and their League is their family! I would be very proud to skate for the SCDG, and they are insanely fun to watch. They make skating and derby look easy! Not to mention, when I attended the bout I was not aware that there was a home team and an away team. Even though the majority of the audience had on Sacred City shirts or bandanas, I didn't know they were the home team. They have a cult-like following. Usually in my mind I am always rooting for the underdog, which in this case would have been the Jet City Rollers, but I just liked the spirit of Sacred so much that I was rooting for them. SO GLAD I tried out!

Just went to their season opener last weekend! I'm new to derby and planning to try out for the team. I met one of the girls and she was super nice and excited to hear that I was trying out. These girls are wicked good on wheels and kicked ass!

Sacred is fantabulous! I love watching them play because they are kickass ladies who know their stuff. The best thing about sacred is that their players are humble and when I go up to them after games they don't make me feel like a lame fan. It's also great to see an athletic team of women who are all shapes and sizes because it's inspiring and they are great role models for women and girls all around the world.

Normally I hate learning the basics of any new hobby but the beginners derby class is nothing but fun from beginning to end! I am addicted to it now and super upset that the class is over.
