I guess I have to say that I been to a couple of these Sacramento Public Libraries for several years and now started visit them again this year. This library is outdated. But it is sufficient for it's function. There are a lot of books to borrow and if you really need a book that is not in the library, you can simply special order it at their web site and they will deliver it to the nearest public library. The chairs are a bit too low for me. The plugs for your laptops are only reserved towards the walls and the corners of the library for "laptop" owners. Which is cool but there are only several seats.Other than that...its a great place. It is a public library, so I say it serves it's function. But there are a lot of updated modern libraries out there now in the SAC COUNTY. I think the most impressive would be the Natomas Library on Del Paso. First time I ever say an electronic book return from the outside lobby area. It also prints receipts what you returned. It's a good library. I wouldnt say its good for studying at. Thats my personal opinion. Its a bit uncomfortable. If you have long legs, the chairs will feel strange. Im not even tall. Seriously Im short and I feel uncomfortable. Its like height from the seat to the floor are way too close.

The staff are friendly-needs more newer books tho... the parking was surveyed by a security guard, and another person at the door. Sign up was a brief... nice medium sized library

Wow you people are obsessed with how outdated this library is. So what? Not everything has to be modernized. My concern is the LACK OF RESPECT of the patrons here. No one silences their phone and no one keeps quiet. You have security and staff here-why does no one enforce this? Some of us are looking for a quiet place to read and study, which is what a library is supposed to be for. KEEP THE NOISE DOWN!!!

Not only do I love going to this library (it is nice and close to my work), but I love the Sac Public library system. They have so much to offer that I think people are completely unaware of! 1. I love the check out system -- all automated; you just put your books on the table, scan your library card and you're done! It can't get any easier than it is! The return is just as easy....drop the book in the return slot.2. They have an email system to remind you of when books are due, how many you have out, etc. The online system will allow you to order books and have them shipped to a library near you.3. They have a ton of resources! Computer access, book club kits, activities for children, etc....I am just really impressed with the effort put into these libraries. The only reason I would even purchase a book is because the library does not always have in stock every book I want to read. If they did I would never buy a book!4. The staff is friendly.5. They run cool little programs like "Banned Book Month" where they pull all the books that have been controversial over the years and put them out for you to see. I love this idea because you aren't always sure what you want to read.People, take advantage of this amazing, free service that is right in your neighborhoods!

Drop one of clue's bombs for south Gate library. This library has been around for decades and it's always been a cozy place with friendly staff. My name isn't Arnold, but I'll be back

So how do expect a kid to get a library book???!!! Ask parents for mortgage paper to know that's where they live?! What a joke! This needs to be fixed so we can have kids learning at their local libraries not out in the streets! How can this get to the capital and get fixed?! Preventing people from knowledge is all Sac is doing. Wow!

I have been going to this place for about the last 10 years. Even though about 7 years ago I moved away I still make sure that I come here for all my library needs. This place has a very cozy and cute feel to me. Everyone that works here are super friendly and nice. They usually also have a security guard on duty. I think my favorite part about this library is the display window that they have at the entrance. I think they do one a month and they are absolutely adorable.

This is the loudest library I've ever been in. The librarians constantly go through the heavy door to the back and let it slam closed behind them. The library cart they use for returns is constantly rattling around. A security guard discouraged a man from sleeping but didn't have anything to say to another who was watching videos without headphones. If you're looking for a quiet place to work, this library isn't it.

Nice friendly people working here. It's not there fault the Sacramento Bee has made it's E-edition almost unreadable and the old user friendly version is not on a secure page.
