Lovely garden area in the back! Bring a picnic and read outside. A few huge mature trees, grassy area, veg garden with flowers in spring n summer. They have a couple of tables and seating too. Can't wait for them to reopen. And I hope the library continues to host activities outdoors.

Listen, if you're waiting for me to rate a library, any library, less than 4 stars, you'll be waiting for a really long time. This is a tiny library. My neighborhood library. The selection isn't that impressive, but it's a safe place for children and adults to come and sit and read, use intent, reserve and use study rooms, and you can always ask for whatever book or DVD you're looking for to be held here. I wish we had more, and more impressive libraries in Sacramento, but since we don't, let's hold on tight to the ones that we do have!

On May 14, 2021, I was asked to leave the Colonial Heights library. There was no reason for this action. I had my own laptop, my own wifi, all I was using was table and reference books. This was an effort by the librarian as the security guard was profusely apologetic. Why did this happen? I have asked other librarians and there was no reasoning for this action...

Simply put, a great community resource. Colonial Heights isn't exactly the first place you think of when you think library, but that's all the more reason why it is so important. Any monument to knowledge such as this helps uplift the community around it. I stopped in for the first time recently. They are limited in what you can access and what they offer due to COVID, but there are still plenty of resources available. For a smaller library, they have a ton of books and especially new titles. They have a lot of reference books and stuff for kids. I also appreciate that they have a sharing agreement that allows you to order a book from the online catalog from any other library in the area to be delivered here. The library is on the smaller side, but don't let size fool you. There is plenty under its roof to keep you occupied!

This is a smaller library than I expected and though I am not usually in the area looking for books I did find out the "Seed Library" is located in this branch! So that was the only reason I came. The library as a whole does not have a big selection of books since it is on the small side but this fabulous little find up in the front area makes up for it. They have a cabinet with seeds in it for you to take and plant. There are vegetables and flower seeds and you can bring in your extra seeds or ones you've collected and they will put those out for the public too! This is a very nice way to start a flower or vegetable garden without any out of pocket costs! I got some eggplant, artichoke, pepper, carrot and hollyhock seeds and now I know where to bring the many seeds I collected last year from my crop. Hopefully they will add more as spring gets closer because its time to start those tomato and pepper plants and they didn't have any tomato or bell pepper seeds when I went this week. I will get those eggplants and hot pepper seeds planted though this weekend. I did not know this existed until recently and now you all will know as well so get out there and start planting fellow Yelper/Gardeners!

Colonial Library is a wonderful neighborhood library. Plenty of new titles available on the "Lucky Day" shelf and the New books shelf. The library system has a useful sharing agreement so I can order a book from the online catalog from libraries, local & distant, & have them delivered to my local library. I also access the online magazine catalog which allows me to read my favorites in the comfort of my own home. Glad to pay taxes to support these amazing resources. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. P. S. Try out the Seed Catalog at this branch. Free seeds for your garden!

Mid-day on Friday and this library not open. No explanation or sign to indicate a problem or situation that would lead to not opening. Sad reflection on library staff and system.

I've lived in this neighborhood and gone to this library for 3 years and i can't say enough good things! It's got the best staff, always so incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Even how they interact with one another is so positive. Plus they're very patient with my kids. I've often needed to go to use the computer and printer and there's always one available and always help if i need it. Story time on Wednesday mornings is fun and sweet. Such an excellent community spot. So grateful to be so close
