Sacramento Public Library - Carmichael

This place is amazing! I always enjoy coming here with my family. It's not just a place to borrow books, but also a space where kids can find a lot of interesting things. It feels like home with its cozy, comfortable atmosphere and wonderfully responsive staff. I especially love that you can print any document, access the internet, and find any information you need. It's also great that you can borrow game console discs and board games. Every visit makes you want to come back again.

We love it here. Back in 2012 I used to sit at a table every week to study for the CPA exam. Nowadays, I roll in with three rambunctious kids nerding out over books because it's a rare fun treat in this pandemic.We did curbside all summer but they're open now, with limited occupancy and 1 hour time limit. Just mask up and prepare for no seating. It's very clean inside and everyone's always so helpful and kind. The children's section is seems larger than a few other local libraries I've visited. Even my picky little pessimist doubted he would find something interesting and ended up outnumbering his sisters at checkout!

-1 Star. After visiting this location a handful of times, I can report that it has its pros but it has also its cons. The layout is great where the adult side is separated from the "the teen and children" section so that for the most part the sound level is controlled. Out of the 3 public libraries in the area (Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Rancho Cordova) Carmichael is the most decent location, or so I thought. Couple things I noticed more recently is the number of transient people that come in to "read." They sit on the lounge chairs, put on their sun glasses and "read." They aren't reading, they are sleeping! One dude today was snoring so loud and no one did anything about it, until I mentioned it to a worker putting books away. Unlike other people, I actually utilize the library to study in its quiet environment. I also noticed some random people just walking around; at this point it felt like they were trying to find unattended stuff to steal - they had this weird vibe. *NOTE: DO NOT leave your stuff unattended! I always take my things even when I go to the restroom, just doesn't feel safe to leave out. As I was leaving two women sat on the lounge chairs towards the back and practically took a nap. I literally heard one of them say, keep a look out, I'll take my nap first.. smh! This library needs to have a security guard at the front door and walking around, because this is just ridiculous! Idk exact library etiquette but I'm pretty sure you aren't allowed to sleep in the library!!!

I came in today to check out some more library books for my toddler and bring back some DVDS I had checked out. Unfortunately lately whenever I check out a DVD it seems to skip and their are smudges or scratches. I spoke to a librarian about the issue and he mentioned they never check their DVDs for scratches, they only check to make sure the DVD is in the case. I personally think they should have a tv and DVD player in the back to see if disks have been damaged, instead of waiting for a customer to complain. Since that's the only time they will send the disks in to be repaired.I will not be checking out DVDS from this location again, but I still think it's a beautiful library and they do have a great selection of books and magazines to check out. So I will continue to come here, but only for books and magazines.

Very nice area. Lots of space. Three study rooms (first come first serve. For one hour each). Usually people didn't try to kick us out. Security guard is nice. Lots of computers. Wifi is great. There is a nice park outside you can go in the shade or take a study break walk

Busy Sacramento county library is large and has all the usual services for patrons. I love to hang out and catch up on magazines while visiting here. They carry a couple knit and crochet magazines, with current and back issues, so I can get my fill of wooly fiber goodness! I also use their digital library, thru zinio to read several of my favorite magazines. I receive an email when the new issues are posted. Staff are helpful, although this visit I checked out at the self service counter with my library card. Plenty of parking, easy to visit this library.

I really love the library everything from the way it smells brings me back to my childhood I used to read a lot when I was very young and when I had my daughter I read to her when she was five months old and we never stopped reading from that point on and she became an avid reader just like myself we were bookworms or we are both worms I noticed that That they had story time there and it brought me back to the days when I used to bring my children there very good memories for me I recommend all the libraries from Roseville to Sacramento and they're all amazing! Great, helpful staff!! I love the library !!!

I've been coming to this library since I was a kid. I still enjoy coming here but I get frustrated because many of the patrons are inconsiderate. I shouldn't have to be the one to alert the staff that someone is snoring, talking loud, letting their kids scream, etc. This isn't a cafe, daycare or rest home. Have some respect and be quiet!

This library is great. I used to come here to get tutored for my calc 2 class. Great facility very clean. After we're done here I will be going to a park with my mom. I'm definitely working up an appetite!I'm buying a couple books so I don't have to worry about bringing them back.

The library is bright and spacey. The library provides people with many resources. Lovely place
