Went 2022 and was disappointed with the location. Out in the hot sun with no shade nor tents set up for cooling. Sacramento has a lot of park and street locations. Why they chose Capitol Mall is beyond me. I just attended Davis Pride 2023 last weekend and it was at a park with trees and grass. Plenty of areas to sit and people watch. The crowd was amazing. Sacramento needs to up their game. None of my gay friends are impressed with this event. And Pride charges to get in. They make plenty of money with the vendors, grants and sponsors. No reason to charge for entry.

A wonderful event for the city of Sacramento to celebrate diversity and inclusion! The parade itself is free and the festival is $10. Tickets can be purchased online or at the venue itself.Parking near the parade and festival is hard to come by but is free if you're able to find one. I recommend either parking somewhere further and just taking a Lyft/Uber there. The festival venue is large and a lot of food truck vendors are present. Needless to say, food and drinks are expensive. So feel free to bring in your own things, especially water. It gets really hot! Some things to be improved upon: line management, the sound for concerts, and security. Mainly security since I noticed that nobody checked our bags when entering. I can see this causing issues and it was unsettling.Overall, a fun event for everyone and crowds are always very lively and friendly.

There were a couple other hiccups to like this, but overall a very sweet & smooth delivered event on cultural diversity.THE LOWDOWNA fun event celebrating life & love in all it's facets.

I did volunteer work with the Crocker Museum handing out free granola bars and bottled water to customers that I didn't have to pay the cover charge. The children were well behaved, asking beforehand whether they could have any of the snacks. SEIU organizers gave the volunteers free frisbees, Gay pride buttons, and T-shirts. I had a pleasant conversation with a fellow artist who's had two shows so far. I had a fun time at Gay Pride.

Each year they have a fee of $10 to get in per person. The $10 is going to a charity. Which is a good thing and i don't feel rip off. . Inside the festival there is plenty of sponsor booths which hands out a grocery bag to put all your freebie stuff in it. They always have sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and summer accessories for you. .As well they got various food trucks in their you can support and snack on..Lots of booze from the tents which they sell but they are high priced. Lets just say same size and 3 yrs in a row it was only 3 bucks, this yr 7 bucks, no thanks. Water bottle is 3 bucks no thanks as well. .There are lots of performances such as dancing, art, singing, drag shows which is my favorite because that talent and unique. .Pet friendly so if you have a fuzzy don't forget to bring it to show off at the festival. .Parking -its free on sunday so park anywhere you can spot an open spot.. Overall lets support the community, get some freebies, buy some food, drink a little, laugh a bit with new and old friends, and have a good time. Thanks for reading and enjoy the pride. Have a yelptastic day!

This was so much fun I forgot to write about it. It amazes me that a city like Sacramento can pull this off every year with no trouble or violence. We are all just people like all the rest of the people in the world. We all bleed red blood, feel pain, loss, sorrow and Love. It does not matter our race, creed, color, religion or faith. Black, White, Tan Brown or even the little green people from a far away galaxy all want to be accepted and Loved for who we are. Sexuality is a genetic trait like having blue eyes or brown hair. We are BORN THIS WAY! Getting together as one family is very important for all of us to remember who we are and show us we need to reach out to our fellow family members all over the world. We can be so Loving and yet we see so much hate still after all these years. I guess the truth is you can change the laws, its just much harder to change peoples minds! Thats why we must NEVER GIVE UP STANDING OUR GROUND and refusing to be treated as second class citizens. Go forward out in the world and spread Love , not hate. Leave that to people who have no mind and follow organized religion like sheep!! I have no place or tolerance for that behavior in my life. I celebrate BEING ALIVE DAILY!! I am truly blessed by GOD no matter what others say. Peace out....

It was my first Sacramento Pride parade and boy was it a blast! I am blessed enough to work Sutter, who totally supports EQUALITY FOR ALL and we marched, well more like danced in the parade! What a blast! So many cool floats, so many cool people, happy people, and people who truly care, love , thrive and promote human kindness! It was truly a love fest!! Once the parade ended, the festivities got under way with lines of all sorts of vendors, food trucks, jumpy houses, information, music , just good vibes all around and I was so happy to be there with family! It was great running into Alex T!! #redcuplove The party didn't stop there though.. of course it carried over into the district when the love train pulled in! Great day!!
