Sacramento Fine Arts Center

I was looking for art classes in the area and found this gem. I found a beginner drawing class for 5 weeks on a Sunday. In my search it was tough finding classes that are offered after work or weekends and this class fit my schedule. Very diverse group of students and awesome teacher. The process for the package was affordable and the supplies needed were under $20.

Another great painting with paper class. Today it was a landscape with birch trees. The classes are great. Carol gives you bags of paper for each section and draws out the picture for you so all you have to do is fill in the blanks. She goes step by step telling you what bag to use with which section. She also goes around and gives helpful tips as she looks at your painting.Parking is a private lot. Usually I get there early and get a spot right in from as the previous class gets out. Today there were a lot of cars in the parking lot.Gallery- If you get early to class you can browse the gallery. It changes on a regular basis and is always filled with great pieces of art, most are for sale. This time they had a sale any 5x7 pieces for $40. They're some really good pieces.

This community run treasure is always changing with new shows,classes, and programs every month. The art ranges from Primitive toProfessional , from sculpture, pottery, oils, watercolor and pastel. They have a fully stocked shop of wonderful gift items. I found the greeting cards most appealing and found some awesome art cards for notes. There are classes for everyone, adults, and in the summer , children. If you are challenged by the downtown hassle...this is a respite from thetraffic and parking. I like to visit monthly to catch every new show.

I'm a patron of the arts and love supporting other artists. I love to get inspired to enhance my own artistic work. Today I came to view a watercolor exhibit and ended learning about this center's art classes and community. I can't wait to comeback!
