10th Annual Sacramento Aloha Festival 2021Aloha kākou! This year the Aloha Fest was held at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn. I've never attended the location at the Cal Expo but the location in Auburn was a beautiful park-like venue with lots of greenery outside in the open air. It was a nice place to hold the event. The weather was sunny and in the low 80's. Perfect weekend for ending the summer! Folks were out in their lawn chairs just enjoying the day. There was no shortage of entertainment (live native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander), fun workshops, Aloha merchandise, and delicious Polynesian food!!! There were resource vendor booths, educational exhibits, and an arts and crafts Keiki Korner, and lots more. Restrooms were nearby and the grounds was wheelchair accessible. We attended to watch my boss's little keiki participate on stage with the KŪHAI HĀLAU O KANOHEAOKALIKOLAUA'E PĀ 'ŌLAPA KAHIKO dance group led by Kumu Hula, Nohea Macugay. We also participated (attempted) at the Tahitian Workshop with the VAIPUNA NO TE HERE dance group led by Director, Stephanie Manuel. My daughter belongs in the dance group and was part of the workshop. -whew- what a workout. Also, saw my favorite band, Island Sunset Band, on stage. My favorite because "Unko" is a guitar player (married to Yelper, "Aunty" Ronnie B)This was a much needed coming together and made me miss the islands. It's the next best thing in the mainland if you're not in Hawaii...Aloha... A hui hou!Review #2397

This place is a fun and amazing experience I'm glad I got to come here twice can't wait to attend again. Great foods, drinks, and souvenirs can buy. It can be busy and a lot of people so keeping children close by is great to do.

Live entertainment, mainly female performancers and they were good! I was hoping they'd have the male polynesian dancers of different ethnic groups. I didn't see any. Great amount of vendors. I was full from a previous event, but I did get some ice cream. The food smelled like heaven.

Been here only a few times, i believe this year is probably my 3rd or 4th time, but the best experience this year. It was a memorable one. My daughter performed on the main stage for the 1st time ever and with her Vai Pu'e Here ohana crew!! They have 2 stages of lots of perfomance of dancers & lots of vendors to buy their products from, as well as yummy food vendors. The fee is $10 for parking but entering the event is totally free! They have it each year around 1st wk of October. If your craving their spam masubi at this event.. make sure you grab em quick as they sell out fast! I don't know what vendor you go to for it but if you know, then hop on it quick! Event starts 9:30am and ends around 7pm.

2014 Aloha Festival attracted thousands. Free admission, parking $10, open 10am-6pm today. Three stages (2 outdoor, 1 indoor) offering live singing, dancing and/or ukulele playing. There were about 10 food/sno cone vendors, which wasn't enough. It created long lines, a minimum of 15 minute wait. The organization isn't allowing the food vendors to sell drinks so there is just one tent selling them, $2.50 for bottle water to $3.50 sodas. There were plenty of vendors for your Hawaiian shopping pleasure, two isles of about 50 vendors selling jewelry, clothing, leis, decor etc..

I love anything Hawaii-related, so I was quite happy being surrounded by island foods, people, flavors, scents, fashion, dancing, singing, and the "aloha spirit". What a lovely FREE festival for people of all ages to attend and get a glimpse of Pacific Islander culture. This was actually the first Aloha Festival I've made it to in Sacramento, since being held at Cal Expo. Lots of people and long lines. There were a lot of vendors for both retail and food, but I was hoping for more to accommodate the crowd and cut those lines down! There should also be more than 1 booth that sells drinks! Other than the need for more food and beverage vendors, the entertainment on both stages were amazing, and I loved the variety of all the retail booths. Inside the building were more activities (martial arts demos, tattoos, and activities for kids). They should utilize that space for more vendors. Hope this annual festival continues to grow in interest and size. Mahalo to all the organizers, sponsors, and participants. ALOHA!

I was bummed that the Aloha Festival was cancelled in San Francisco in the Presidio, so when I heard that this event was going to be in Sacramento, I got excited again. The event was very well run, with about four rows of vendors selling Island fare and soft goods. It was kind of like strolling down the isles at Aloha Stadium, especially because a lot of the vendors were selling the exact same stuff. I especially liked the wide open spaces, and the it was easy to get position in the music venues. One thing that needed improvement was that the food vendors needed to emphasize more Island food. All in all, a fun time in a laid back atmosphere, and a good way to spend a few lazy Saturday hours.

Went on 10-7-17 at Cal Expo and it was an absolute blast! They had hula performances, Hawaiian food stands, and vendors that sold all things Hawaiian. Shaved ice, kalua pork, all the good stuff! It's a fun event for just about everyone, and had I known they had this festival last year, we would have gone too. Parking is usually $10, but to get into the event, it was free. The food lines were quite long as to be expected, but overall it was worth the wait. You can get hawaiian style dresses, decor for the home, and a lot of other trinkets of that sort. For a moment, it made me feel like I was actually in Hawaii.

Took my 3 nieces here Saturday. Something different from the ordinary stuff we usually do. Plus it was Free, except for the $10 Parking. They had a lot of different food vendors and live performances outside. Inside they had activities for the kids to do. My nieces made candy leis, went fishing, colored, and also dressed up in Hawaiian outfits. Food was a lil pricey, but it was good. We shared a Hawaiian plate for $13. It had teriyaki beef, chicken, short ribs, rice and macaroni salad. I think we will be coming back next year.
