A great place to explore for kids. And adults too! haha... This is the City of Roseville's Utility dept's exploration center, kind of like a science center, but it's multi-faceted. There's permanent and changing exhibits with interesting information about how utilities (electricity, water, gas, etc.) are sourced and delivered, there are games, scavenger hunts, and tons of interactive displays about conservation, decomposition, recycling, reusing, reducing, etc. Because it's all hands-on, kids love it and everything's really quite engaging. The whole place is well lighted and designed and just very welcoming b/c it's so filled with colorful and creative posters, demonstration, and activities, it's also fun for parents and other adults. There's also various programs held here to educate the public about topics like composting, gardening, conserving energy, and special programs for kids to learn about the application of science and technology. Overall, this is a really wonderful center for exploration!

It' free, air conditioned, educational, and everyone is super friendly. This is mainly for younger kids but some of the information is for adults for sure. My kids will go in and play for an hour or so then we head over to the next room to the main library. It's worth a visit to explore and see what kind of educational things they have.

It was my first time here. I would agree with other yelpers that this place has so much information and it's a fun place for kids to hang out. They can explore, play games, do scavenger hunt and get a prize when it's completed. You can do all that for FREE. What a great place to take kids and it's next to the library. Awesome educational place.

I took the grandkids 7, 10, and 13 to this fun experiential exploratorium. The staff was very helpful and the scavenger hunt kept the kids busy. They really enjoyed the activities. We were there a few hours and it was more than 100 degrees outside so it made a nice inside activity. Check it out!

This place was so much fun and very informative. Lots of things to explore, games to play, resources and facts that you don't think about in your daily life but should be aware of for the health of the planet and yourself. They give kids a scavenger hunt and a prize when it's completed. Did I mention it's free! Seriously a great experience worth checking out.

The Roseville Utility Exploration Center is a unique center for learning about energy sustainability, conservation, and local utility organizations and programs. There are a variety of visually and interactive oriented training resources (posters, interactive displays, and demonstrations) focused on energy efficiency, renewable technology, water conservation and recycling. The posters and displays are interesting to people of all ages. They also host a variety for programs for the public and special visits. The service counter is staffed by volunteers. The center is a convenient E-Waste collection point for computers, phones, televisions, etc. There are carts available for bringing the items from the parking lot. Info on acceptable E-Waste: https://www.roseville.ca.us/explore/ewaste/The open hours are easily to remember, and slightly different from the Library in the same building, Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. Ample convenient parking, clean restrooms off of the lobby.More information on the Exploration Center is available at:http://www.roseville.ca.us/explore/This is a great place to bring young people, or just to visit on your own.

I love this place. My daughter enjoys hanging out here for a bit whenever we go to the Martha Reilly Community Library. (They are in the same building and share an entrance and lobby.) It is free, fun, and educational. Come check out their Count Watts Spooktacular Event the last Saturday of October with your littles. Borrow a niece or nephew or grandkid if you need to. ;-) Roseville's Utility Department does SUCH a great job with this event each year. There are so many activities for the kids to do, and the employees (volunteers?) working the event are always SO nice & helpful.
