What a better way to begin lunch than with a bowl of "Hot and Sour" soup, and a Tsingtao beer?

I was craving Chinese food and we haven't explored much since moving to the area. I called in a to go order and the staff member was friendly and the timeframe was quick even during the dinner rush. We ordered the bbq pork fried rice, chicken chow mein, orange chicken, and egg rolls (large order of each, one order of the egg rolls). Total with a couple dollars tip was $50. With it being just my husband, myself, and our one year old, I was happy to see it was enough food for two nights. Everything tasted hot and fresh. They also included a small container of white rice and fortune cookies. The star was definitely the bbq pork fried rice. The orange chicken was really good too and didn't taste artificial, instead seemed to be in a marmalade type of sauce. The chicken chow mein was a little disappointing as it didn't have much flavor, but we just added a little soy sauce and that helped. We would definitely come back again.

I really wanted to like this restaurant more since I know there aren't a ton of authentic Asian/Chinese restaurants in the Roseville/Sunrise/Citrus Heights area, but coming from the Bay Area and Southern CA, this place is definitely catered more for mainstream "Chinese American" food, rather than the authentic, more flavorful dishes you see down in Elk Grove and outside of the Sacramento area.Overall service is excellent and the staff is super friendly. Prices are reasonable and as expected. Plenty of adjacent parking in the attached lot. Lots of seating and even a banquet area which is great if you're able to reserve in advance - can fit about 20-25 people (including kids). The food itself is decent/reasonable, but think more Orange Chicken/Broccoli Beef than true HK style noodles or garlic/bok choy style cooking. If you're taking your local friends out, it's a solid place, but if you're taking your Asian parents out, I'd probably look elsewhere.

I came in on a Monday afternoon about 330 for some excellent chicken chow mein, spicy. I love it! The food was ready quickly and of course it was amazing tasting. The people are friendly and fast. Highly recommend!

The Rose Garden is my go to for Chinese food in the Roseville Citrus Heights area. This is a long established place.tonight We got food to go and I introduced my neighbors to this great food. They had some new things they wanted to try and I had them try some of my old favorites. We got Mushu pork Lemon chicken. Hot and sour soup and Hong Kong noodles. I have to say the Hong Kong noodles are my favorite thing in the world and very hard to find! They are kind of a curried ramen style noodle with pieces of pork. Everybody loved them! the lemon chicken I had never tried before. It was OK. A little sweet for me. The mushu pork is always good. Friendly service, food ready when you get there nothing to complain about here. Prices are a little high nowadays, but that's the way of the world I think.

This review is limited by us having only tried two dishes .... But one of them (fish in black bean sauce) was KILLER. Probably the best I have ever had, and I've had that dish all over the U.S. It was fresh, the sauce was light, none of that crazy-greasy-Americanized-deep-fried quality that is everyyywhere these days. The second dish was Sizzling Rice Soup made with seafood instead of the traditional chicken beef pork shrimp. I didn't love it - the shrimp were good but the imitation crab and calamari were not very tasty and the broth was missing that full flavor Profile that comes with varied meats. I wish they offered a traditional and a seafood. The fish fillet was so good I'm going back asap to try more dishes. I will update once I do!

Ordering togo was easy, peasy! Customer service is A+++We called and ordered on the phone. We've always heard amazing things about this Chinese restaurant, so we had to give it a try... For our order:Dumplings with dipping sauceEggrolls with sweet &sourSpring rolls with sweet & sourBroccoli & beefKung pow chickenOrange chickenWalnut shrimpFried riceWhite riceChowmeinSoy sauce packetsChili oil to go cups (ramekins)When we picked up our to go order, it was ready and bagged up for us. They even had all the sauces already in the bags and packets of soy sauce along with multiple to go ramekins of chili oil! I would love to sit inside & eat some time! Look at the size of these dumplings, and tasted better than most Dumplings I have had anywhere around here! Full of flavor in every bite! For the size, they packed the right amount of dipping sauce. The spring rolls and eggrolls were crunchy and came with sweet & sour to dip. The orange chicken and Kung pow were a little too similar. They were actually hard to tell apart. The Walnut shrimp was fantastic... big juicy shrimp covered in sauce. The broccoli was cooked perfectly for the broccoli & beef. I, as well as my guests, enjoyed the chowmein. I usually don't partake in eating rice because I enjoy mine so much, but it was really nice not to have to cook... and their rice is moist and perfectly cooked. Thank you for a wonderfully deliciously cooked dinner! We can't wait to dine in sometime!

We don't order Chinese food often. My family thinks everything tastes the same. To our surprise - the food here is amazing: vegetables are fresh cut; meat chunks are large; sauces and soups are delicious. We ordered a variety of the "basics" for takeout at 4p and it was ready - hot - in 15 min. Everything was great- the wonton soup (delicate dumplings) and walnut shrimp are exceptional.

We recently had dinner at the Rose Garden for my husband's birthday. We got there for an early dinner and it wasn't too busy, but we still waited quite a bit for a table. When they did seat us, it was a table right by the door to the restroom and kitchen. Not the end of the world, but it would have been nice to be a bit further away from those spaces. The food was tasty, but the service was lacking. I had to flag someone down to get a refill on my husband's drink and our server seemed way too busy to be bothered to check on us. Based on service, I would consider ordering takeout from here, but I'm not eager to dine-in again.
