I seriously miss the bistro that was in this location last year. Rosa's was the quite the disappointment on our yearly trip to Sutter Creek. Six of us made prior reservations for a 6 pm dinner on a Saturday night. They may have been busy and short staffed, but even the food was disappointing. It took a good 15 minutes to have a drink order taken and then a half hour plus to get the drinks. The up charged margaritas didn't taste any different from the regular ones considering the extra price paid. The food took over an hour to get. None of the dishes were all that fancy, that long to get a few plates of tacos and a couple burritos. Then none of the plates seem to have any flavor. It's Mexican food, where was the seasoning? It even lacked salt. I doubt the group will return in the future. If you do stop in to try it, I recommend sitting outside on the covered patio instead of inside. More room outside and less noise. We walk from our air bnb. Street parking is limited in the area, as well as small area lot nearby.

My husband and I came in for lunch on Saturday and we were seated inside. There are some tables outside on the patio as well. Our server was not very friendly and acted like she was always in a hurry so we felt rushed and a little uncomfortable.I ordered the chicken taquitos which after I started to eat, I realized that something on the plate was not right. It had a weird smell and it did not taste right. I stopped eating and when the server asked me how it was I told her and she removed the plate from the table. She did not offer to get me anything else so I did not get to eat lunch. She did however remove it from the bill which I appreciated.My husband had the fish tacos but they added cheese to the tortillas when frying them which gave them a weird texture. He did like the flavor though.There is only one unisex bathroom so there was a wait. They do have a full bar and the drinks were good

I have to give this a "1." The service was great and the ambiance was very charming. But...who does this?I ordered Nachos. It came with cheese sauce on it instead of melted shredded cheese. Who does this? It is supposed to be an authentic Mexican Restaurant. Who serves Nachos with cheese sauce? It is not a ball game. It is not Little League. It is an authentic Mexican Restaurant. When I make Nachos at home, I use shredded cheddar and jack and put it in the microwave for a minute to melt the cheese. This was served completely cold and tasted awful. What authentic Mexican Restaurant serves Nachos cold with cheese sauce?Who does this?

My husband and I visited Rosa's Cocina on a Wednesday. It wasn't crowded, but we weren't the only ones there. We chose the outdoor seating which wasn't too hot even though it was in the 90s. The atmosphere on the patio hadn't changed since I was last there when it was Susan's Place. The perfect covered patio feel. As to the food it's BURSTING with flavor. The rice was the most flavorful I've ever had- very lime-y. Not your typical Spanish rice. I will say their salsas and sauces were spicier than what I'm used to. I like spicy and can handle some heat so it was a nice change for me, but I personally have friends who would've have a harder time with it. I got the enchiladas with salsa verde (the less spicy of the two sauce options), and my husband got the burrito. Both were amazing and I liked that there were 3 enchiladas. You don't get bottomless chips, though. If I brought my kids here, that'd be a problem as you only get one basket for free.

Now this is some good food. Jensen was amazing, kept our drinks full, and made an amazing recommendation for lunch. If you're in the Sutter Creek area this is a must try. We will definitely be back next time we are here.

Salsa very good but the chips were too salty. The carne asada street tacos were good!

This was a really fun atmosphere with really good service. That's the main reason for the 4 stars. The food was ok. Steak in fajita not cut at all and was hard to cut into strips. It was also very very rare. Unfortunately, the shrimp fajita was overcooked and a bit chewy. Flavors were good though. They have a full bar with many options.

Best Mexican food in Amador Cute ambiance with the patio and always great service! I would highly recommend.

OMG! Best fish tacos ever! My hubby ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and they were divine. We loved the fresh made chips and roasted salsa. Customer service was outstanding! They have a bar, inside service as well as a patio area. We loved the sound track they played as well. This place came recommended by the owner of a nearby winery and we will definitely return the next time we come through this amazing little historic town.
