This little park is tucked in between 9th and 10th and Q and P. There's parking available all around it and it tends to be one of my go to places to park when I'm visiting businesses in the area. The park itself has a baseball field, basketball courts and space to workout. I've seen people out there playing baseball, softball and even kickball as well as plenty of people walking their dogs. It's nice to have a patch of green like this is our busy city. There aren't really picnic tables or benches but there are some bleachers near the baseball field where you could easily enjoy a picnic or snack/drink from one of the nearby businesses. There are some great food and drink options within walking distance, including some restaurants and cafes. There also have been some events planned at this park. During the summer it can get pretty hot, there's not a lot of shade so I'd recommend coming early or later in the day for fun or for any events here.

We were here for the softball league last Sunday. This is a great location near downtown. All of the businesses are closed so there is not getting a sandwich, ice cream, or coffee during the game. Parking is plentiful on Sunday and it's free. That is the best perk. Be careful where you park so you don't get hit by a ball.Near the California museum, so if you game is Noon on you can stop in to check our there store, bathroom, and see the show. Being a member is a plus as this is your closest bathroom. The bathrooms at the park are closed. They do have a port-a-potty, but the stench can be smelled a bleacher away. There is no public bathroom close by. This makes it very inconvenient for those playing or watching at the park. The ball field is very hard and the entire infield is dirt. There is no smooth landing or sliding for beginners.I will be back as the softball games are located here. I will watch my liquid intake and bring my own food and beverage. My biggest issue is the lack of restrooms. Other than that it's a great location.

I don't mind this park at all. They've really upgraded it. It's a small park with limited activities to do but it's in the heart of downtown and that adds a little love to it. With newly equipped basketball courts dedicated to our Sacramento Kings, this park has its appeal. You will find that many nights there are xoso sports events that occur at this park. One favorite is softball. I do worry about the cars around there getting hit by a softball. I'm crossing my fingers that doesn't happen. With parking on all four sides of the park, there isn't an excuse to at least check this park out. I like to walk around this park a few times. You get the downtown vibes and low key feel to the overall area.

If you asked 100 Sacramentans where Roosevelt Park was maybe 10 would actually be able to pinpoint. Little do they know, this park is a staple in downtown Sacramento.Welcome to this large square park. On one corner you got a basketball court and on the opposite corner there is a softball diamond. As a known hooper in the community of life, this is where da real ballers be at. There are often basketball games going on in the morning, afternoon, or evening. There's a lot of pickup ball that goes down here. People are pretty friendly for the most part. There are two full courts, by full court I mean like elementary basketball full court. There's a large grassy area at this park as well, so you can play soccer or mess around with your dog or do whatever normal people are parks do.Beware, on wednesday nights, the phenomena of kickball can be witnessed. A league called xoso hosts their kickball games and having played a couple games, I must say it's quite fun. Two games go on at a time, one of the grassy field and one of the baseball field. It's pretty much just a bunch of adults having fun, and alcohol is encouraged, enough said.

Roosevelt Park is a pretty small park with its main attraction being Soccer or maybe I should say Fu'tboll. I have no idea where all these men come from but they are all shapes and sizes, running around playing soccer, screaming and yelling at each other. Honestly, it is a funny thing to come and watch. If you work nearby, it is a nice way to break up your work day! The park also has basketball courts, so during the nicer weather days, those courts are usually full of a bunch of wanna be street players. Sometimes when I am in my powerwalking mood, I will walk around the park; one complete square is approximately 1/4 of a mile.So if you need a laugh or you need to exercise, come on over the Roosevelt Park!

I only come here to play softball on Friday nights. Thankfully there is decent lighting to play past sundown. However, my biggest concern is the spokes where the bases are supposed to fit (especially second base). The spoke where second base sits is not fitted well within the field. Therefore, it makes the base very wobbly and difficult to round when running toward third base. The bathrooms are your typical park bathrooms. There are no lights so don't plan to use the bathroom after dark.

Great park to host special events. The softball field is courageous as are the Kings sponsored basketball courts. Just wish the vagrants would sleep elsewhere ie city funded housing.

Smack dab in the middle of downtown you'll find a square of patchy grass and a basketball court known as Roosevelt Park. This is probably the more utilitarian public space within the grid. It's not particularly pretty, but it has plenty of options for those looking to get some sunshine and exercise. I've only utilized the park on one occasion - a long ago kickball game. Ever since I just drive or walk by and always see a pickup basketball game or a morning yoga class taking place. There is a semi-public restroom that is supposed to be limited to park users but is commonly a stopover for the homeless. Because it's downtown, it's also not uncommon to drive by and see someone getting arrested for something or another. Like any park, you take the good with the bad and see it for what it is: a far better alternative to yet another office building and a valuable piece of real estate dedicated to exercise and the outdoors.
