I'm thrilled to see the positive changes under the new ownership. The new owners have completely transformed this place from top to bottom. The store is now cleaner, better organized, and has an impressive selection of liquor. You can tell they're focused on quality and providing a great customer experience. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. The entire atmosphere has improved, making it a welcoming spot to browse and find exactly what you need. The new management truly cares about the store and its customers, and it shows in every aspect. So glad to have a top-notch spot like this in the neighborhood!"

I've come in a couple times and each time I've been quoted a completely different price for the same exact thing. It's like they make prices based off of who walks in. Had a couple weird interactions, but at least the store is super clean, especially since it's located in an area that doesn't get the most upkeep.

We stopped by to pick up some beer after our walk around town on our way back to the hotel and were pleasantly surprised by Rodney's. They have a great selection of beer, wine, and liquor, as well as a cigar room (if that's your thing!). What we noticed the most was that the employees were in a solidly great mood, which made their customer service top notch. We cracked a few jokes with the staff and were on our way! We also appreciated the mural on the side of their building that supports the BLM movement. Thanks Rodney's! Keep up the great spirit (pun intended)!

I always pass by this cigar place but never peeked or looked inside until today. I didn't know it was a actual store. I went here with my co-worker to get the scratch tickets. fter getting out of the store, I literally worked outside to glance at the name of the place. Actually the name brought a smile on my face, "Rodney". It's my cousins name too. Rodney cigar is located on J Street. From outside, the green building architecture is worn out They lots of selection of wine and other beverages. And they carry the wine name Rodney strong.

WARNING: The cigars here have mold!As the fiance waited for me to pick him up from his Confirmation Class at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, he wandered into Rodney's to check out their cigars. Apparently, the person working followed him into the humidor. But he wasn't bothered by it. As he browsed, he noticed mold in the cigar box of the Padron Cigars. He informed the salesperson because that same mold was on almost every cigar box.. The salesperson said, "no, if it's white it's the good stuff. If it's blue or green colored is when you should be worried". That is NOT a true statement. PLUME is a light whitish layer of fuzz (distributed evenly) that can develop on cigars as they age in the humidor. Plume does not hurt cigars and is actually a sign that they are aging properly. MOLD has white spots dotted all over the cigar!!! AND can spread from one cigar to the next in a humidor that is not taken care of. Stong indicator that the humidor's hygrometer is off and it's too humid in there for the cigars. Pretty sure his cigars have MOLD!!! If you don't believe me, conduct your own "Rub Test". If you rub the cigar and white flakes brush off, then it's plume and it's a good matured cigar ready to smoke. If you rub the cigar and the white stuff DOES NOT come off, then it's mold and you probably shouldn't smoke it. Decide for yourself! I'm just a concerned consumer. Since the FDA doesn't protect consumers when it comes to Cigar Sales you better have the knowledge to protect yourself!Sad this establishement does not take proper care of their humidor and cigars. They have a really good selection! They carry the top ten cigars from Cigar Afficiando! Oh well. Definitely not making any cigar purchases from this place!

Rodney's is an institution in downtown Sac. It features a well-stocked, walk-in humidor, and is open after every other cigar shop (few that there are remaining) has closed (save a membership lounge, another fine establishment called Steampunk Cigar Co., near the Amtrak station). I've been frequenting them since 2012, and they remain a prized resource for the cigar fan in this town. Make a good purchase and ask for matches. Like every quality cigar retailer, they'll give you a branded pack to add to your collection. As a bonus, they're right across from the Citizen Hotel, which features an excellent restaurant and has a wonderful Art Deco theme. Rodney's is also just a few blocks from Frank Fat's, another must-visit site in the downtown.

The bad reviews I saw just don't add up! :) I stopped in here while visiting the area. The Manager is friendly with all who walked in from what I noticed and they've got great prices. Check 'em out.

Over priced drinks and smokes. Don't bother with the cigars! That humidor room is a joke. See for yourself if you'd like but parking is not free.
