Husband and I did the bike rail for the 1st time. We had such a great time. It's not hard at all, there's a motor that can take over if you get tired of pedaling. Duration is about 1 hr total.

This was our 3rd year doing the Christmas Train and I'm sad to say we are done. You are assigned a themed car on a train that takes you 30 min one direction and 30 min back. You have an elf that leads you in activities and sings and Santa comes by. There's hot cocoa and treats for purchase. It's always felt a little pricey for what it is but my kids loved it and that made it worth it. The first 2 years were great, but this year the experience lacked the value we've gotten in the past. For the cost ($300+ for 5 people) you want to be blown away. Our elf made it clear this was her 4th train trip of the day and was a total downer. She wasted time chastising our car and it made the whole trip feel much shorter than in the past. The whole experience felt stale. They always have 1 "helper" getting the hot cocoa and they can never get it made fast enough. I have many operational suggestions -- have water ready for guests, hire another helper per car (you could double the business of food purchases if people did not have to wait). This year felt really disappointing. It's just not worth the cost imo.

My toddler is fascinated with trains so we decided to take their Magical Christmas train. It was well organized by each group and each car had a different theme. There were cookies, hot coco and other snacks to buy. My kids loved the games and sing along. We will certainly be back again for more train fun.

Planes, Trains And Automobiles!SITREPSoring down the train tracks for a change for Happy Hour! So what a blast to catch a train for a change! The River Fox Train has an OUTSTANDING staff that professionally put together some wonderful *THEMED* train rides as well! There have been Train Robbery themed outings, Zombie theme train rides, even the more basic School Reunion train ride parties. In this most current instance, I was enjoying a fun TIKI EXOTIC BAR experience, complete with the Tiki Bars & Drinks! A couple drinks later I was already flying high and I wasn't even on a plane!THE SETUPI've reviewed jets and car rental agencies before, but not a train. It doesn't matter to me that this train isn't really going anywhere EXCEPT for a sweet, meditative jaunt across the Yolo County countryside. But that's enough for me, so this is fun! This particular trek was put together by several friends, which led to a group of friends about 90-100, most of whom I knew as friends, acquaintances and yeeps. We got to hang enjoy the beautiful scenery of this late Spring countryside whisking by us at a 25-30 mph clip. It started out a bit on the warm side, but quickly transitioned to the very cool side by the end of the trip. [Those who brought sweaters were thinking ahead!]DRINKSRiver Fox was very cool in allowing passengers to buy their drink tickets before they even boarded the trains. That way there was no hassle with money unless you wanted to leave a buck or two in the tip jar.KUDOSThank you River Fox Train, your fun staff, and my favorite Train Engineer for the fun excursion!THE LOWDOWNSo friends, if you ever get the desire to go on a quick, no stress train ride, this check this train stop/shop out.

My husband and I experienced the Old Vine Tour on the River Fox Train this past weekend and it was a wonderful experience! From check in to departure, we received superior service. There is an employee that helps guide to the parking, just a short walk to check-in. Customer experience is clearly a priority. Check-in is fast and we were guided to our train. Walking through the cars to our area, each compartment was immaculate. We could see that other cars on the train were going to host different experiences and we can't wait to try the others! Upon arrival to the wine tasting car, tables are set-up with crisp white table cloths. Our guide Axo got us seated at our table and professionally introduced himself. He would be our tasting guide and it was obvious that he knew what he was doing. Next, we were greeted by KC who made sure we knew where restrooms were and told us a little about the train. We were given a starter glass of lonely Rosè and the table had some crackers and water. As the train began along the tracks, we were guided through a series of beautiful wines. Axo did a remarkable job of telling us where the wines were from and what notes to expect. Our charcuterie was beautifully presented, with an assortment of crudite and hummus. For dessert, we had a plate of chocolates and fresh berries. At the end of the tasting, we were offered a full pour of our favorite wine. The scenery was lovely and only added to a beautiful day that we will remember for a long time. We could tell that each guest aboard, experienced exceptional service. Well done to everyone who helped to make our tour special!

Took my son for a trick or treat train ride and to play in the pumpkin patch. We had a really nice time, staff was very nice, getting coffee was a great pick me up and they have board games on board (we didn't play any but a really nice lady offered to us). We got three pumpkins on our way out and are looking forward to more fun this week. We will try the Santa train next year when kiddo is a little older.

Fun Rail Bikes! What a novel concept! These pedal powered bikes (with an electric motor assist) are such a fun way to explore along the river. The ride is quite peaceful as you enjoy the views of the river and orchards. Arrive a bit early for check in and orientation. Two staff members join you (in front and behind the group) but they offered little information (apparently there were free snacks but we never knew). The ride starts and stops at the River Fox train station, which has a fun grassy area and small shop, which is likely a lot of fun in warmer weather. It was a cold day, so dress accordingly, as it got quite cold while riding. Would be great if a hot coffee or hot chocolate could be purchased after?!I would definitely do this again! We had a blast.

My cousin visited me from the East Coast on July 10th 2022, and what better way to show her some Sacramento local love than a ride on the River Fox!!First off, Sacramento in summer is HOT HOT HOT! My cousin being soooooo intelligent ;-) haha.... found the one car with AC and snagged us a table! Go, girl! So that was a plus.It was a 2 hour train tour on the Weekender Express. We had drinking wristbands and a cute little table. We were assisted by staff members --Eugene, Angel, Cecilia, and Rachel. We even took a funny hoola hoop video for social media outside in the patio area while waiting to embark on the tour. Overall, a little pricey, but always a good time!

I love trains, and keeping old trains alive, but I wasn't impressed for how much I paid for tickets and two drink tickets. You have to walk back to open cars to get your drink and only one drink per person at a time. Granted, it's a closed track so it's only up and back, but not only does it move slow, the power went off 3 times going out and 1 time coming back. Unfortunately instead of thinking the trip ended too soon though it's only about 5 miles out and back, I wanted it to end. The indoor box cars were comfortable when the power was working. When it died on a 90 degree day, it got stuffy quick.
