Good halal fish and chicken. My son had the chicken and I had the snapper. The snapper was very good and the fries were perfect. I like the thousand island type of sauce on my fish it was tasty. I also had the sweet potato cake. The icing was very good but the cake needed more of the sweet potato taste but it was still yummy. I also had the tropical punch Koolaid and it was good. I would have put more sugar but I have a sweet tooth and most people say I put too much sugar, lol. I want to go back and try the shrimp poboy and the gumbo! See ya'll soon!

Walk in cashier was friendly and nice he suggested items I bought a 3 way combo chicken; snapper & basa) came with fries got it to go with a sweet potato cake. I stopped here on my way home from work first time visiting. I received 3 wings; 2 pieces of basa and 2 pieces of snapper. The chicken on the out side they sprinkled white seasoning mix on it. I open a wing it was dry look like they deep fried old chicken see pics, the snapper was fried to hard with little seasoning and the basa was fried just right. The cake was different as I never had sweet potato mixed with pound cake it was ok.I would not really visit.

First time at Rays and it was so good. Food is delicious, service is great and the cake is to die for. I have a sweet tooth so their cakes caught my attention immediately. I bought a slice of the chocolate cake with Oreo frosting and every bite was a piece of heaven. I will go back for more.

I ate collard greens, corn bread and coleslaw! All were delicious! I didn't need to add salt! That's a first for me! Cornbread was very moist, slightly sweet, not too bad! Great flavor! And they showed up so fast! Like 30 minutes ahead of schedule. Unfortunately I didn't think to take a pic!

Third time I got food here. I got catfish every time, and every time it was moist, flavorful, and still hot by the time I got back to work to eat it. Unfortunately this time, when I unpacked my bag, I found my side of coleslaw missing, bummer. My fault for not checking before I left. Also got the a slice of strawberry cake and a slice of pineapple cake, both really sweet. Also got the potato salad, it was aight, it has a lot of pepper, I'm not a pepper person, but my hubby is, so I'll let him have the rest.

While staying in a hotel in the area, I used my handy Yelp app feature to find Ray's. It is .7 miles from my hotel. Quick service. Clean (but small, seats 15-ish) dining/order area. Well-lit parking lot. I highly recommend the Akakan Cod. Tender fish cooked up crunchy. Flaky white meat. I walked in at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, ordered to-go, and was on my way within 15 minutes. If it's been around since '74... there's probably a reason.

Just stopped in on the way home, been wanting to try it for a while. I got the 3/3 combo tenders and thighs, and okra side. Took about 10-15 minutes which tells me they are cooking it fresh so no big deal. People on here complaining it took too long, go to Popeyes. I took it to go and ate at home, way down Fulton in Sierra Oaks and it was still very hot. The first bite of the chicken thigh and its delicious crispy skin took me right back to sitting at my grandmas house eating Sunday dinner as a kid. Okra too was great, lightly fried and not greasy. I was glad to see a couple containers of hot sauce in the bag. I'm a Tabasco guy but you don't put tobacco on chicken. Portions were good! I'm a big dude and I barely got through the thighs and okra. Tenders were the same, nice and crispy. Fries were good and fresh. Can't wait to try the fish! GOOD MEAL!!

This place was so sweet and feels like home. Food was delicious and the person working the counter did a great job all by himself. I'm honestly shocked that some folks rated this place poorly! Folks will literally complain about freshly cooked food but will spend $40 on frozen fast food.

Today, I've discovered a new face to Ray's, it's there sauteed chrimp! Absolutely delicious and very tasty. You can actually differentiate the different flavors or garlicky sauce and chrimps. Definitely something to try! And don't forget the sauteed scallops and oysters, those are my next items to try. As for the service, it was stellar!
