Used to be awesome. Now it seems like it's dying. The cool people are gone. There's 1 good stand now. I hope this farmers market begins to suck less and be awesome again.

This is a very nice farmer's market. It is located in a very convenient spot, just off the freeway on the corner of Sunrise and Folsom Blvd in the light rail parking lot. It is very pleasant with a great variety of produce, nuts, organic eggs, plants etc. There is usually a clown that make balloon animals and live music. We have been regular customers of many of the farmers that come here. We have even followed some of them when they were in a different location. We have our favorites! If you come here for your fresh produce, you will soon have favorites of your own.

The friendliest farmers market I have ever visited! The vendors here couldn't be nicer. Most greet you with a warm hello, and proceed with, "would you like to try a sample" or "can I help you pick something out." The produce also looks amazing and the prices are for the most part half of what you'd pay in Los Angeles! My jaw dropped when I saw $1/lb for cara cara oranges. Because Sacramento is so close to walnut farmers, there were a lot of walnuts being sold (in shell, no shell, ground). Unfortunately I'm not a huge fan of walnuts so I passed on them. The honey vendor was very knowledgeable and gave my friend specific instructions about how to take bee pollen. He confirmed she was not allergic to bee stings and took the time to make sure she slowly introduced the bee pollen to her system one grain at a time. He also went into great detail about honey. I learned a lot about how different flowers produce different tasting honey and which ones are sweeter, more commonly sold commercially, and why. So fascinating! The Italian olive oil vendor made me feel like I was back it Italy! He was a charming elderly gentleman. And while there weren't samples, I had to get a bottle of olive oil simply because he was so sweet! This farmers market is worth visiting. I definitely felt more connected to the food and farmers that produce it. The sheer friendliness of the vendors also made my morning extra special and I got a bunch of farm fresh goodies in the process.

The official first day of the Farmer's Market at Rancho Cordova was today! Coming from Fair Oaks/Gold River area, go down Sunrise Blvd and turn left at Folsom Blvd. As soon as you turn left, make a quick right into the Light Rail parking lot. Well, what can I say...it's not the same as the old location. The space seems more cramped and trying to exit takes longer as there are only two exits: one onto Folsom Blvd, one for Sunrise Blvd. Previously at the mall location, it was one open area, traffic was never an issue. However, the layout is exactly the same.Pistachios and the local honey to the left, flowers at the end, mushrooms and local olive oil to the right. I did miss the lavender man and the occasional guitar/vocal duo. Hopefully they'll turn up down the road. The benefits of buying locally outweigh the inconvenience of the new location. I miss being able to walk to the cafe afterwards as well as being close to other shops, but that's how it goes folks! I'll still make buying my weekly produce part of my Saturday morning ritual.

Showed up this morning at like 8 on the dotizzle (don't know why I wrote that) and even though it was colder than a penguins first day at work alot of people were there and showing up more and more it was awesome! Just note that this place only takes cash so make sure to have that because the only other way is to go down to the gas station. There were flowers(alot!), other plants, almost every type of fruit and veggies you can think of. I just really like that I can help local growth and feel healthy why doin it doin it and doin it round! So I'm going to give the Farmer's Market 5/5 stars because everyone was so nice, selection was awesome, great prices, lil cold but that really didn't bother me too much, and over all I had a great time!

Excellent local farmers market. This farmers market has mostly produce, meat, cheese and flowers, unlike others that have lots crafts and chachki stuff. So this is just the basics but what they do have is excellent. We got food for the week and cubed up the meat and after marinating grilled on kabob skewers. Also the cheese with heirloom tomatoes, basil and olive oil was so fresh it was on of the best dishes ever. Love coming here on Saturday morning. Also if you want fresh, free range, non-hormone tri tip get here early because they sell out fast.

Hi-ya!This farmers market is only open on the weekends, but that may be typical; however they have fresh fruit and vegetables and it's reasonably priced. It's in a good location and parking is free as it's at a RT station. If you happen to come near when they close you can actually get fruits and veggies even cheaper.

My wife and I LOVE coming here every Saturday morning. As of late, we have both been trying to eat healthier, and we've been trying to incorporate a lot more fresh, organic vegetables into our meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And while there's plenty of grocery stores nearby that I could get produce at, there's no doubt that the quality is just better here.So they have this farmers market here every Saturday morning, and for the longest time I never took the opportunity to go...even though it's probably no more than a mile from my house, if that. However, when I finally did try it out, I was really impressed. They have just about everything here I want, and then some. This market has all kinds of seasonal fruits, vegetables, meat, cheeses, nuts, honey, breads, flowers, and eggs. And the best part of it is that it's all organic and pretty damn cheap. Case in point, I recently went to a Safeway in San Jose and ended up paying $7.50 for 5 smaller/medium sized persimmons. However, when I came here, I bought 7 HUGE persimmons for $5. Just goes to show you that quality organic produce doesn't have to mean it's more expensive. Yesterday, my wife and I bought a dozen organic eggs for $5, some fresh pizza bagels, and some cheese to put on top of it. We brought it all home and made it for breakfast. Everything was fresh, and tasted great. I gotta say, it's kind of hard to go back to Smart & Final when I have such a better, cheaper, an inexpensive options so close to me. Unless I'm mistaken, this market is cash only. So bring some paper with you. I usually show up with about $20, and leave with a bag filled with a variety of stuff, so your money will go a long way here. In addition, there's plenty of parking, so you won't have to stress about battling it out for the last spot on Saturday morning. So for those of you who are trying to eat better, and are looking for cheap, quality options, I would highly recommend coming here on Saturday mornings. The slight inconvenience of getting up so early, and having to pay cash instead of just swiping your debit card is nothing compared to what you get in return. My family and I plan on making a habit of coming here for a long time to come.

The farmer's market located at the Sunrise Lightrail Station is one my favorites outdoor markets in the Sacramento area. There is ample parking available. There are a variety of venders from across Northern and Central California. The fruit as well as vegetables are fresh. There even is fresh flowers and plants for sell from local certified gardeners. At times there is live music. Make sure to arrive before 10 a.m. to avoid the crowds.
