RAKKAN Ramen - Folsom

Just excellent! Great food, many vegan options (avocado bowl for me, quartz creamy vegan dish for her, plus the crispy vegan gyoza), chill vibe with very nice decor, and great service. Pretty quiet at lunch on a Saturday early afternoon. Definitely a new "go to" place for us!

I mean.... the flavor was good, but the portion sizes (especially the extra shrimp and broccolini) just were not worth what I paid.If you have read any of my reviews, you will notice that I have a pattern of being very generous on my ratings. That's because I honestly have had more good experiences that I have questionable or bad experiences. Although, for what I paid to have this delivered, I'm not really happy.I paid for a side of shrimp. I got two pieces. Now, maybe with the way prices are going up these days that was all I was entitled to have. HOWEVER, I DEFINITELY paid too much for extra broccolini. They literally gave me two of the smallest side stocks that I've ever seen. Please take a look at the pictures.Would I have anything delivered from here again? Probably not. The flavor is good, but there's truly no generosity for what you get. I paid $60.83 for this to be delivered. There wasn't enough value for the price. And I have no problem with the price if I had received my value.

Hit or Miss - Consistency Matters @Rakkan Ramen ... Our first visit to Rakkan Ramen was great! We picked up a Chicken Karaage Bowl, and it was so good that we couldn't wait to come back. A few days later, we decided to get takeout again for our Friday dinner and ordered four Chicken Karaage Bowls, expecting the same delicious experience.Unfortunately, this time, most of the chicken pieces were overly salty--so much so that it took away from the enjoyment. It was disappointing, especially after such a great first impression. Consistency is key, and this time, it just didn't hit the mark.Another thing to note: they seem to be severely understaffed. There was only one person handling everything--cashier, cook, and server--so expect a long wait. It's not his fault, as he was clearly working hard, but it's something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry.Would I give them another try? Maybe. But I'd hope for a more consistent experience next time.

It's always tough to find a place open on Christmas Day, but luckily Rakkan ramen was open.It's an interesting concept with the plant based broth. We got the Pearl and spicy garnet ramen. The broths were light and flavorful, without the deep rich flavors you typically get with a meat-based broth. My pearl ramen was missing onions while my boyfriend's ramen was missing the seasoned veggies. There were only two guys working there who seemed a bit overwhelmed running the busy restaurant so we let it go. The kaarage was very good though, and the sriracha sauce had a good kick to it.We'd probably go back for the kaarage, less so for the ramen. Rakkan seems like a good option for the vegetarian/vegan crowd though.

Great new place! The Sacramento area is heavily lacking in quality ramen shops so this place was a welcome surprise. Even though its a meatless broth, the depth of flavor is pretty on point and similar to what we had when visiting Japan. We definitely recommend this place for ramen fans! The service was a bit slow but the store wasnt crowded when we went in.

Rakkan Ramen is great! As a vegetarian, I was getting a little tired of going to ramen places in Sacramento serving broth with little to no flavor. Rakkan Ramen has a vegetarian/vegan alternative for many of their menu items, and it is such a refreshing experience!I ordered the vegan spicy garnet and substituted the mushroom for corn. The miso broth was flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked. I also appreciated the variety of toppings they offfered for each bowl. We also ordered the spicy cucumber appetizer to share. It was refreshing and slightly spicy. Because we came to the restaurant before the dinner rush, we were quickly served. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and clean with plenty of seating. Overall, we had a great experience here and will definitely be back!

In a nutshell; good place to chill, have a mini anime-esque experience as the establishment draws inspiration from anime befitting of its name. Also the iconic initial d car is parked out front. Pretty decent boba, the place has a number of seats and tables to hang out or chill at. There are tables that have manga panels in them which was neat. Parking isn't an issue at all. The wait didn't take long at all and ordering was pretty simple with the kiosks by the counter. Overall boba's neat. Hope they provide good snacks in the future.

We ordered an array of appetizers to try both times and didn't realize til today that we only posted pics and didn't write a review.Takoyaki - kids love this dishChicken Karaage-very tender on inside but not crispy or crunchy on the outsideHot brussel sprouts salad - bomb. Must have.Spicy edamame- it's okGyoza - passSpicy Garnet (Sesame Miso base) - 2 slices of very thin meat, lots of noodles, 2 slices of very thin meat and lots of noodles, sliced bamboo and 1/2 soft boiled egg.Spicy Quartz - creamier version of Garnet more Miso flavor. 2 slices of very thin meat and lots of noodles, sliced bamboo and 1/2 soft boiled egg.We add corn, seaweed to our bowls and minced fresh garlic to our bowls. This time an added egg to the bowls as well.Yuzu Cocktail was good.Service was good. Attentive but not overly. Couple table being served when we arrived.

The best ramen place we've found so far! The noodles are perfect--even if left in the fridge and soaked in soup overnight, they don't swell up. They offer combo options and a seasonal menu that's definitely worth trying. You can request to substitute the toppings to your liking. I prefer swapping bamboo shoots for corn. The service is great too.

Yummy vegan broths make ordering ramen easy. I love that the ramen comes with lot of ramen noodles. The noodles have a nice chew. There isn't as much of the toppings as in other ramen places but in the end one bowl was quite filling and left me feeling satisfied, being vegan this is our go to place as their broths are vegan. Just because they are vegan don't think they are locking flavor.
