I love this place! I eat here about 2 times a month and we always get the number 1 house special. We always get it with the grilled marinated pork, which is better than the charbroiled pork IMO. Being able to portion it yourself makes the experience better and I think that the portions are generous. I love the crispy fried roll inside. This is my go to meal in Sacramento whenever my friends or family visit too. This place is better than Brodard in Westminster CA, with none of the pretentiousness or the huge line. My family also agrees that it is better. if you know you know! Service is minimal, but positive. It's what you would expect from a place like this. Don't let the scary parking lot on the plaza side get you, the place is always busy and they have a security patrol vehicle in the lot which is really appreciated.

Came to Quan Nem Ninh Hoa because I was heavily craving fresh spring rolls, more specifically the DIY kind just like I used to do at home with the family. I was also craving any sort of Vietnamese Che and this place offered both! Located off Stockton Blvd, parking and location is a little iffy (especially with the previous review where their car got broken into). There are rows of tables, so seating was ample. The whole inside is naturally lit from all the windows. We were sat immediately, and handed menus. Within 1 min, we were asked what we wanted. We asked for a bit more time. Less than a minute goes by, and we are asked again what we wanted. I think there was a miscommunication in the team, but we eventually got there by the third person who came up to us to ask for our order. We ended up getting: - House special (half portion) - this came with 4 banh trang to make 4 spring rolls. I never had Brodard's so I cannot compare, but this was really delicious. - Banh bot lot - tapioca goodness filled with pork and shrimp.- Grilled pork spring rolls - this was a really good value as for $11, we received 4 FULL stuffed spring rolls (vs. typical 2 rolls cut in half at other places). - Che ba mau - this tasted like a peanut butter halo halo and I'm not mad about it. It was the perfect end to the meal. I would definitely come back, but the sketchy location really deters me from doing so.

I've been bringing out-of-towners here for YEARS. It's hard to find DIY spring rolls outside of San Jose or Westminster. But South Sac has it! The juicy meat. The crispy wrap. The herbs. The veggies. The orange sauce!!! Everything is perfection. And I love that I feel full after, but not overly stuffed. Pair that with the young coconut drink and you are ready to take on the world. As for the ambiance--I love how authentic it is. The families eating together, the auntie prepping on one of the tables, the news on the tv. You just can't go wrong with those spring rolls here! It's a must.

We were seated immediately w/ our party of 4. Staff was friendly and helpful. Store was nice and clean. The pho was amazing, we had a long day so it was sooo satisfying and yummy. Broth was delicious. I added siracha and plum sauce for that nice spicy taste. Finished the entire bowl. We took the famous spring rolls to go, order of 25. Bomb! If you haven't tried those, it's worth the drive!Parking available in lot. Easy to get to.

My friends and I stopped by Quan Nem Ninh Hoa on our drive back to the Bay from Lake Tahoe and I couldn't have had a more satisfying meal. If you've ever been to Brodard in Fountain Valley down in SoCal, you'll be plenty familiar with the beef rolls there. Quan Nem Ninh Hoa not only has the same rolls, but they also have a ton of other dishes you won't find at your typical pho restaurants.I loved the experience of being able to make my own nem nuong cuon. You get the full experience of soaking rice paper in water and can stuff your roll with fresh veggies and herbs to your heart's content. Don't use too much of the hot sauce like I did, because the Thai chilis are no joke. The grilled pork for the nem nuong cuon is packed full of classic Vietnamese flavors and is super tender. I loved the contrast of texture between the strands of bouncy rice noodles and the deep-fried egg roll skin. This dish is a must order. If the idea of assembling your own rolls doesn't sound appealing or is intimidating, you can also order them pre-rolled. They also offer party platters of the rolls if you're hosting a large party.Other dishes that I tried out and enjoyed during my visit included banh beo and bánh xèo. Our party liked these dishes but our Vietnamese friend said they've had better elsewhere.Overall, I would not hesitate to stop by here again if I'm ever in Sacramento.

4.5/5! fast service! plenty of seating but the restaurant itself is a bit tight. 4 loaded, filling spring roll for $12 is such a steal! rolls are well flavored, and i love the touch of the crispy spring roll skin in the spring roll. def worth visiting if you're in the area

We decided to pick up some rolls to-go given their comparison to brodards.I was pleasantly surprised to find a place up north with similar rolls. I love me some brodards and I hate to compare the two but I can't help it. It's what drew me to this place. The restaurant is kind of on its own. It was quite busy for a Sunday, which led me to think "okay this must be good" plus just look at all the rave reviews in yelp!We ordered the nem nuong rolls. Of course I had to eat one in the car as soon as we picked it up. At first look, the rolls looked a bit loose? Could be tighter. Idk, I guess doesn't make a difference, it's the inside that counts right? Haha First bite and it was okay? Good? Not sure if I'm trying to convince myself. Okay okay, it was decent but not as good as what I've had before or what I built up in my mind. The pickled veggies were pickley and the dipping sauce was tangy. I still ate them. I may come back if I'm in the area but not likely. The parking lot was sketch! So glad we ordered to go instead of eating there. Esp since they have multiple warning signs posted on the exterior of the restaurant basically warning you that this is a hot spot for car break-ins. Also, side note, I wish they served your typical pho here. We were craving it and would've opted to dine had they had it. But given the warning signs, I'm glad we didn't dine in.

Foods great and honestly affordable! The build your own spring rolls is a fun experience and would be a great date idea. The orange sauce is sweet, savory, and almost sticky but is BOMB. The premade ones are perfectly rolled I'd give it a 10/10- love the crunch inside of it too from the deep fried portion and crisp cucumbers. Noodle soup was recommended by the waitress (forgot which one it was to be honest..sorry I know this isn't helpful) could pass on in the future. Lemon grass chicken was solid.. 7/10. On the heavier side but a really rich savory flavor. I'd rate the banh beo (rice cakes) the same 7/10 and was oily. Kind of a smaller spot so it gets really busy around lunch. Food honestly took a long time 30min + for the noodles (had to remind them) and banh beo. It's an authentic Asian restaurant so don't expect the best service or the happiest waiters- however I'm focused more on the food which is delicious and unique compared to other Vietnamese spots I go to. Heard the pork chop is good there so I'll try that next!

Having spent the weekend in the Sacramento area, I had to check out one of the highly recommended Vietnamese restaurants known for its build-your-own spring rolls. The concept is great, you get a variety of fresh ingredients to customize your perfect roll, making for a fun and interactive dining experience. The food itself was solid, with fresh flavors and generous portions. While the service was a bit underwhelming and the ambiance nothing special, the fair pricing and quality of the food made it worth the visit.

They have the best spring rolls! There a deep fried stick (probably rolled up rice paper) and adds a nice crunch effect in each bite. Their banh hoo is also the best here too. Their "fish sauce" is thicker than I'm used to, but it's great! Everything is flavorful and would definitely come back next time I'm in town
