Pothong Market

I live in the Natomas area and I'm so sad. I'm far away from Asian stores. I looked up any Asian markets are around the area and found this one which I never been to. Literally walked in and it was heaven and I loved it. They had so many different snack, snacks, and foods to choose from. The only thing I would say is the produce section is super small and runs out fast, so there was barely anything for me to purchase. Would definitely be coming back to this location.

I fell in love with Lao sausages and Nam Khao (crispy rice salad) that the local Buddhist Temple was selling as a fund raiser.I've been on the hunt for more since the fundraiser ended. I recently searched Yelp for Nam Khao and found a local market with a kitchen in the back.Pothong Market is only about two miles from my house. I placed my order over the phone and headed over to check out their produce and grocery items.I picked up some dried chilis while I was there and was tempted by a number of other options. The market closes at 6 and the kitchen closes at 5:30 (which is not noted on the website). I chatted with the chef/cook.I am so impressed. The Nam Khao was delicious! Came with plenty of fresh crisp romaine, mint and cilantro.I love the blend of soft, crunchy, salty, sour.... so hard to describe. I'm so glad to have a local source.The grilled sausages are well seasoned and plump. I'd like to figure out which frozen sausages they use so I can make these at home. My friend also ordered the papaya salad (thai style) with zero peppers and they were OK with that. I'll be sure to order that (with one pepper) my next visit. So grateful for Yelp helping me find a local source for the Lao food I love.

A little neighborhood Lao market to get Asian groceries and produce. I've been here three times and the owners/workers are nice and helpful. Store is busy every time I've gone. Last week my mom wanted me to make her some Filipino food so I rushed over here on my way home from work before they closed. Decent prices on produce and you must use them right away since they're ripe & ready to use. From reading the reviews, it looks like they sell spicy papaya salad so I'd like to try that sometime in the future. This last visit I grabbed some desserts, they were not too sweet and very delicious.

Love this grocery store! Come early on the weekend for the fresh food!! Fresh produce and they are family owned!

I'm in Natomas and usually do my major Asian groceries in South Sac, but I found a closer place that has almost everything I need, especially my case of lychee, highly recommend it!

Everything you need in a pinch for Thai and Lao cooking. Plus the restaurant serves legitimate Lao food -- we tried the kao piek, nam kao, papaya salad, and it outcompeted most other places in Sac we've tried (plus portions are family-sized!). We have family that drives past other asian grocery stores to get this one

We moved to this area three years ago, and I was missing my mom's home-cooked Lao food. So, I decided to find an Asian store or a Laotian store to get the ingredients I needed to make certain meals. This place was only 10 minutes away from me. I went to check it out, and wow, they had a lot of varieties of ingredients I needed. On top of that, they also sell hot food ready to go. The owners and employees are very nice and helpful. They're always stocked up on their items too! Go check them out!

Amazing super market bit pricey but save money on gas going to south sac has everything I usually and typically need

Best papaya in town! New ordering system. Pay first at register then go pick up your order. Definitely my new spot for papaya cravings!
