Pizzasaurus Rex

This is such a great spot. I've been here multiple times for either their Dino slice or their whole pizza. Potato pizza 10/10. It was the right amount of toppings and the pizza had perfect amount of crust. I did get the truffle fries 9/10 but it was unfortunate that they gave us all the end pieces. 4.5/5 this time.Staff are very friendly. Order at the counter. There are only a few seats inside so you may need to sit outside.

Stoped by on the way to Tahoe. Overall very good quality square pizza! Crust is like a hefty focaccia. Nice crispy edges. No burnt edges. The pepperoni had good flavor and reminded me of New York style pepperoni (but not NY style crust). The potato was a little disappointing. It was lacking flavor - just kinda tasted like cumin. Potato pieces weren't very distinct from the cheese - just felt like dry bits. The cheese clusters and sun dried tomato's saved it but they weren't in every bite. Not sure if we got an off batch though since everyone seems to recommend it. Maybe the my forgot the salt or an extra sauce for ours. Would get the pepperoni again though! Truffle fries were great too. Ambiance is like a laid back bar vibe. Order at the front desk. Self serve water and utensils.

The pizza is usually always great! Sometimes a little more toasty than some might like but I still really enjoy. The last two visits have been REALLY REALLY bad. I got my typical Pep and olives one for me and one for my mom. I've been dying for her to try this place since we live on The J st alley in front and I always rave about it. Her slice had AN ITEM SOO HARD in it, and BIT into it- HURTING her tooth. I brought the slice back, they happily made me a new one but truly disturbed me when i brought the slice back with the weird hard item... 2 staff members told me they weren't able to identify it.... it was hard like a really hard nut so i got concerned for a nut allergy but they assured it wasn't a nut. then what was is it ? LOL.. and tonight i had to wait about 20 minutes for a single pep and olive slice to go which i usually get in like 5 mins wait time. it doesn't seem really busy to wait that long but maybe they have a lot of to-go orders. i finally get my slice, thank god i opened the box because it was missing my olives. i had to wait another 5 minutes to get olives on top. this experience really bummed me out because i would come here like FOUR TIMES A WEEK! I know super greedy lol. But I thought i found a perfect spot for a slice. I might need to consider going to Marilyns that just opened on J. Really just sucks. When pizza rex is good, they're GREAT! I'm just getting turned off now.

We got several slices for sharing this past Sunday... pepperoni and the dino slice (marinara, 3 cheese, sausage, mushroom, red onion, pepperoncini, parmesan, parsley). Wow, these large square slices were super cheesy, the toppings were flavorful, and I loved that the little pepperonis were crisp on top. The crust was also delicious as it was infused with the oils and flavors of all the toppings and melted cheesy goodness that went all the way to the edges, and yet the pizza wasn't too oily as a whole. Even the tomato sauce was nicely seasoned, and the ranch on the side was tasty too. Sometimes, I get slices at pizzerias and they're good when reheated but you can tell it had been sitting out for a while. Well, at Pizzasaurus Rex, these slices tasted freshly made around 8pm on a Sunday, some of the best and cheesiest pizza I've had in a while, so they are definitely doing something magical in that kitchen. Service was outstanding as well. There was a line to order, but it went fast. And it took 17 minutes for our pizza to be served at our table. The staff checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed, and the tables in the restaurant were cleaned in a timely manner, keeping the environment comfortable and inviting for customers. In addition, they have indoor and outdoor seating, a clean restroom, and easy street parking out front.

Party of tres for another weeknight pie. Half-and-half: one half was the (daily?) DINO flavor which had sausage, mushroom & white sauce, and the other half was POTATO with white sauce, three cheese, potato, onion, garlic, sundried tomatoes, herbs, fresh parsley. Don't sleep on their housemade ranch dressing, and the cilantro-jalapeno Dino sauces. Both of the pizza flavors were great. Paired very well with a pint glass of locally produced Nitty's Cider (Gypsy Rose flavor) which was a nice Cherry Pomegranate beverage.Self-serve water to the right of the entrance (automatic door), single-stall restroom to the right of the counter. Outdoor tables if the inside fills up, but I don't think they have any heaters for the patio.

I've been here more than a few times and really like it as someone who's obsessed with pizza. One time me and a couple of friends got half combo and half pepperoni and the combo side was meh. Idk why when it had meat and a good variety of toppings. The pepperoni was much better than the combo for whatever reason, it's delicious and tasty. Then their potato pizza? Omg so yummy with the white sauce and sun dried tomatoes, delicious. Recently, same group of friends, we tried their rotating special which had white sauce, red onions, mushrooms, sausage, and parsley and it was delicious. We've also tried the truffle fries which were delicious. One time I came in to have a slice with another friend and the 1 slice is enough to fill 1 person up, it's a big piece. It's not the individual size of slices from their whole pizza. I'm not sure if this slice was from a pizza that was over cooked or when it was reheated it was over cooked? But it was too well done with the crust being somewhat burnt. Again, this could've just been this one instance with this pizza. Because their whole pizzas are cooked to perfection and the crust is light and delicious. Their whole pizza is an entire cookie baking sheet so between 2 people you'll have a few slices leftover. With 3 people we finish it and are very full. I prefer the whole pizza fresh since it's been much better than the individual slice. But the individual slice is more than enough for one person. I'm not a fan of ranch but, their ranch dressing is yummy. It tastes very creamy and rich like sour cream.

Workers were very friendly and the service was great. However, the pizza was lacking. I ordered the dino slice and pepperoni slice. Based on pictures and reviews I saw I expected it to be great however it was just decent. The pizza crust was on the crunchy side and the toppings lacked any true flavor. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside on a Friday afternoon and the background music was definitely a vibe. Unfortunately the food was miss so I don't think I'll be back.

Delicious local pizza! First time try was a winner. The only size is a nice pan that serves many. Just me, but its easy to invite others or finish later. Mine was my usual, pepperoni, mushroom, and olive. Yummy! Parking is on the street. Cozy indoor seating, best are next to the front windows. Outdoor seating to the side is also nice, especially in the warm weather. Get take out or eat in, you well love the experience, taste, and value. And the service is warm and welcoming.

The Dino slice was fresh, crispy, bready, cheesy, oily.. in all the right ways. Found this place on a whim and, so glad we did!

They have the pizza crust recipe perfected- just the right amount of fluff. Wish they would add parm to the table, tho.
