I love eating at Pho Vung Tau Bay it is a little bit out of the way in Citrus Heights, but well worth the trip for some of the best Vietnamese food. I always order the #1P which is the combination pho you can get it in regular or large. I always get the large since it's only a $1 more and the portion is substantial. I also get the shrimp and pork fresh spring roll which as absolutely fresh and delicious. You can also get a free Thai tea or soft drink with Yelp check in offer as well. The service is always great the staff is friendly and you can sit anywhere you want they are also accommodating with food allergies. The restaurant is small but a nice amount of seating. It is easy to pass by the restaurant if you're not paying attention. This is a must go to Vietnamese restaurant it will not disappoint. :)

What the Pho was that? We walked in first thing after they opened. The floors were disgustingly dirty. Most of the bottles of sauce on the tables were empty. The decor is old. They don't serve Vietnamese beers. The water they put in the pitchers sounded like he was spraying them with sink water to fill them up. The guy turned on all the tvs and played music at first, then he turned on what seemed to be a Vietnamese show that he was watching in between stocking the fridge and serving - the show was loud and had an annoying child crying on it for a good 5 min. *insert eye roll* We ordered spring rolls. Those were very good as they were refreshing tasting with the mint along with the peanut sauce that had deep fried onion crisps in it. Then we ordered something I would never ever order nor recommend. We were in the mood for trying something different so we ordered the P 101. Don't do it. The broth came out boiling as it's supposed to be 212 degrees, but when I tried it as soon as in was put in my bowl, it was luke warm. Odd. Then we saw the meat plate - um no thanks. The brisket looks like it was boiled 4 days ago and re-served. It was so tough you couldn't bite through a single piece. Not even kidding. There's gross pieces of gelatinous looking tendon that was hard. The tripe was interesting- I've never had it but wanted to try it. Never again. What a weird texture. It reminds me of those little rubber monster finger puppets with the wiggly arms and a cats tongue. Then there was rare beef tenderloin... it was edible and tender. There was beef back ribs in the stone broth..Bleh. The bean spouts were old. The noodles were okay & so was the broth. They have two good sauces that they bring from the fridge to your table, one is a chili oil and the other had jalapeños and garlic cloves in it. Both pretty good. I'm not sure why we stayed after seeing the floors. The spring rolls were good but not good enough to come back. Still looking for a good Pho place.....

We came here on a friday around 3PM and theres a good space to accommodate us with a baby on a high chair. I liked their house special fried rice and the fried chicken is so tasty. Overall we will sure to come back because fried rice and fried chicken are our staple comfort food and my children likes it too. Added factor is its only a stone throw away from our house. More power!

Overall, I thought it was just okay. It wasn't horrible nor the best. There is something magical about pho and a rainy day, right! I always get the rare beef noodle soup. I like how the meat cooks in the hot broth. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in their rare meat. It looked different than other places I've ordered from so not sure if it was the cut but I was puzzled. Also, I wish the broth had more flavor. Definitely, appreciate having this place so close to my house and ordering to go was a breeze.

Had egg roll craving. So instead of lumpia at the Filipino store, opted for vermicelli bowl here since it came with an egg roll. Order #12 to go. Asked for no vermicelli but instead extra lettuce.Picked it up. Got home. They gave me noodles. But no eggrolls. What a disappointment, the eggroll part. Other than that, the portion was huge. Could easily share. Meat was too salty but still edible. Please note, when ordering, you have the option to add egg roll as an "extra," which I did not do.

Pro tip: Check in on Yelp and get a free Thai iced tea as of 3/30/24Came here on Saturday afternoon 12:45pm and was surprised to see the place empty after seeing so many positive reviews... I stepped in, smelled the air, saw the chairs and felt the ground on my shoes , and was hopeful that this place would be good, sadly it did not meet our expectations. My wife got the pho tai Bo vien and I got the Hot stone bowl as it seems like this was their specialty item.My wife's pho broth for some reason was not flavorful almost bland , but the weird thing is my broth was fine... although it did not have as deep a flavor as other places. The Hot Stone Pho was a cool idea but realistically it didn't enhance anything for me.. maybe just the presentation. For the price, I was expecting I guess a bigger portion but you're basically just paying for the upgrade to FAT noodles (fresh noodles), a small rib bone, and the use of the hot stone bowl(presentation) , portion size to me was a bit smaller compared pho items of that price range at other places. I felt that I could still eat more after leaving.Main reason for rating is my wifes underwhelming pho broth flavor and inconsistency between mine and hers. Value was ok. My comparisons is to pho in the Bay Area and Elk Grove area, if you're looking for pho in Roseville, this will suffice but there may be other options if you're willing to travel a few extra miles.

They care more for their uber order then dining customers, we waited for couple of mins, one of the order finally came for my wife. I've sat there for more mins watching her finish her noodle and seeing the employee just cking on their uber order instead of getting my noodle ready and not coming by and saying it's goin to be awhile for mines. I got fed up after my wife finish her meal and they still didn't get my order out, so we jut paid for her meal n left.
