Got in during Friday's noon opening and got the Combo # 4 with all the BBQ'd meats of Tri-tip, Pork Ribs, Chicken Quarters and Hot Links plus two sides of Potato Salad and Collard Greens. The to-go bags also came with two pieces of Corn Bread. It was a quick in and out for me. We didn't get to eat the food until dinner though.Couldn't wait for supper as I tasted a couple of morsels from our haul upon arriving at home. During din-din, I realized that this serving was good for four portions for this family. The spicy tangy sauce (I really wish this wasn't Sweet Baby Ray's) with the smoked non-vegan chow was really good. The collard greens was okay but the potato salad was phenomenal. Definitely coming back when we're back in this part of Sacramento.

Sacramento can't seem to put together many decent BBQ places, but with hope in my heart and a gleam in my eye, I gave this place a try. It's safe to say I was hoping for a ninth inning, walk-off tater. Meh. The quantity was great for the price. Seriously, there were two meals worth of food there. But there's always a "but." Sometimes they're big buts. I can not lie. Here we go (I'm gonna avoid the obvious allusions to adult behaviors that often come when talking about, um, meat.):Both the ribs and chicken were underdone. Not salmonella underdone. But they weren't that fall-off-the-bone tender that we all secretly crave. I put my leftovers in for two more hours at 225 to get them close to where I wanted them. Forget the sides, forget the sauce, when it comes to ribs, it's all about that clean bone that falls from the meat. The slider blew by the batter on this one. Strike one.The rub was alright. Nothing spectacular. Again, my personal preference lies with a rub that calls for little or no sauce. Contact, but a foul ball. (Fowl ball on the chicken?)The sauce... my take on sauce is this: it should never be the show, but it should compliment the rub to form a nice double play. Like the sauce, it was alright. Missed opportunity here. Fastball, called third strike. But the good news... the catcher dropped the third strike and there's still a chance. I'll give it one more shot. Again, Sacramento has some lousy barbecue. Maybe I can get to first base on the pass ball.

We were in mood for barbeque, and found this place through Yelp. It wasn't far from our hotel, which was a bonus. It was quiet when we came in, people playing or watching a chess game, a person having their meal in the corner but we did go early, so I imagine it would be busier as the evening went on.We decided on the two item combo, so that we could have a taste of their menu. The wait wasn't long and we asked about the pie, since we didn't see any displayed but apparently they were kept in the back. There was a choice of two pies, I forgot what the other one was but refrigerator pie was mentioned. Never having this before and hubby loves pie, we ordered a slice as I figured I would get a taste of his. He was so nice (sorry I didn't get his name) gave us two slices so I could have my own. When we got back to the hotel and I lifted my box out of the bag, it was pretty hefty and opened it to a full box of food. I got the ribs and tri-tip, and hubby got the ribs and links. I love a wet barbecue and this certainly fit the bill. The sauce was tangy and yummy. We had the beans and potato salad sides. Hubby inhaled his entire box except for the potato salad (normally doesn't eat this, so more for me!) I did taste the link and I love it! Perfectly spiced! The ribs were great as was the tri-tip. Absolutely tender. I could not finish my meal and saved the balance for our lunch on the way home. Yes, we'll be back on our next trip up that way, hopefully in April.

This bbq was the bomb ! And I'm picky ! I ordered a to go plate on Super Bowl and it was fresh and seasoned to perfection , not to salty. I ordered tri-tip, hot-links, potato salad and greens. I feel like normally at bbq places the sides are hit and miss but these sides were banging ! Especially the potato salad , and that's hard to master ! Can't wait to come back and try the chicken and ribs and some pies

When I walked into my parent's house with this food, everyone knew that I'd gone to Our Family. The first words out of my brothers mouth were " did you get the trip tip?" Uh, hell yes! I also got Mac n cheese (I'd pass on it), baked beans (to die for), and the piece de resistance: hot links. I flew across the country for this ish, and it was worth every penny. I'm glad the first bbq shop I went to was closed, or I would've missed out on some of the best bbq I've ever had. It's located in a strip mall, where people visiting the other business sniff the air and say "damn, that bbq smells good". Upon hearing that, I hurried inside. The guy there (who is apparently a co owner with his wife), quickly went over the menu with me, took my order, and was back faster than you can say banana cream pudding. I ate probably half the food in the car, I wouldn't wait! I'll be back here on future visits!

I'm from VA and this is the most authentic southern bbq place I've found in Sacramento! Food is amazing and nice portion sizes for the money; highly recommend.

**Our Family BBQ and Pie Take and Bake - Sacramento, CA**Steve, the owner, is running an amazing show here. The menu may be simple, but it's nothing short of finger-licking good! The meats are slow-cooked to perfection, tender and full of flavor, and the sauce has just the right amount of sour tinge to elevate every bite. This combo couldn't get any better. The four sides? They hit like a Mack truck! We couldn't finish them all, so we took the rest home to savor later. And that cinnamon water? Unique and thirst-quenching--definitely something you don't find every day.If you're a BBQ aficionado like me, do not pass up the opportunity to feast here. This is Sacramento BBQ style at its finest. We're definitely coming back for more! The place has an inside diner feel and a porch combo with great music on the system. Amazing vibe!

Amazing, friendly service. A bit slow to come out because they prep orders one at a time. Ice box pie was just okay, the lemon/lime flavor was really artificial and the crust was a bit too loose for me. The barbecue was great though, definitely worth the extra $2 for tri tip. I'm not usually a potato salad fan but theirs was delicious! Super cute back patio area as well.

Located in the corner of a plaza. Very casual and comforting ambiance when you walk in. Tri tip and ribs were super tender, and the hot links were amazing. Unfortunately they were out of chicken when we came. A generous amount of bbq sauce and some bread came with the combo. For sides, we had beans and collard greens. Beans were nice and sweet, an amazing contrast to the more sour and spicy greens. A good hole in the wall spot. Definitely worth a try if you're passing through
