I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it fell short. The food was disappointing from start to finish. The spring rolls were poorly wrapped, with messy ingredients spilling out, and they lacked the fresh flavors I was hoping for. The peanut and sweet sauces didn't pair well at all, making the rolls feel unbalanced. The wonton soup was another letdown. I couldn't get over the mint that was thrown in there--it just didn't belong. The shredded carrots were piled in like an afterthought, making the soup feel heavy and overly cluttered. Overall, nothing stood out in a good way. For a place I had high hopes for (and grew up eating at their Lincoln location), this really missed the mark and left a lot to be desired.

I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken and medium spice, and they were just perfect. The spice level wasn't too intense but had a nice little kick that I really enjoyed. The dish was flavorful, filling, and very satisfying.I also tried the mango sticky rice, which was good but presented differently than I am used to. The rice was green, and the mango was cut into pieces. Other places usually serve it in a different style, but it still tasted great, so no complaints.I have not had the chance to dine in yet since I ordered through delivery, but everything arrived fresh and delicious. I am looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon!

BEST vegetarian pad Thai I've had in Sacramento.Super flavorful and perfectly done. I can see why it's the top recommended dish on the menu. I got a medium level of spice and it was perfect! Only downfall about this place, like other places in sac, is that street parking can be busy and takes time to find.

My friends & I came here on a really rainy night and upon entering the restaurant, it immediately gave cute & cozy vibes. The decor was really nice & the lighting was dim, definitely a good place for a date night. When we sat down, we looked over the cocktail menu & knew what we wanted to pick. It took a while for our waitress to get to our table, but when she did we finally placed our cocktail order along with our food orders of The Combination App (Satay, crab wonton, coconut shrimp), Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice (Mild), & Shrimp Thai Lettuce Wrap. When our cocktails arrived, we were all pretty let down by them. The flavors completely missed the mark & I could tell my drink was made incorrectly as well. None of us wanted to complain so we just stuck it out & drank them. For our food, the Combo App was pretty good & very flavorful! The coconut shrimp had a thick coating of coconut which I really enjoyed, the satay was packed great seasoning, and the crab wonton was nice & crispy. The Pineapple Fried Rice lacked in flavor. I'm glad they had different sauces to use on the table because I had to douse the rice in chili oil to make it enjoyable. My friend's Thai Lettuce Wrap was a letdown for her because the shrimp came out completely unseasoned. It looked like it was just boiled & thrown on the plate afterwards.Overall, the experience was okay. The cocktails were not it, since it took us all probably an hour to even finish it. The service was pretty bad too, not once did she ask how anything was, kinda just would stare at us then run past to do something else. I'd probably give this place another try & see if they have better options food wise because it seemed like it might've just been an off night?

It's been awhile since my fiancé and I tried this spot! We use to come every other week preCOVID. The menu items have change a bit and they added an addition restaurant inside Orchid Thai called Ramen 101. Tonight they were a bit busy and possibly short staff. We waiting about 10 minutes before anyone address us at the door. Finally, the bartender told us to grab a menu and find any seat we liked. Once seated the bartender immediately met us at our table and took our drink orders. I did feel alittle rushed but I do understand she was running the bar and supporting with tables. When our drinks arrived, my soda water had something floating inside. Nooooo! The bartender apologized and offered me another glass. No harm No foul! After a few minutes our dishes arrived minus my Bangkok Chicken wings. Heres where I was surprised! The portion sizes were bigger. The flavor of the pineapple fried rice had change. Much better and flavorful than I remembered. The papaya salad was yummier (not so watered down). My only criticism is The fresh roll could use a bit more shrimp. Beside that the food seems to have improve for the better.

Absolutely delicious. Pretty much everything on the menu is incredible, whether you get Thai or Hawaiian, everything is perfectly cooked and full of flavor. We got the appetizer sampler with coconut shrimp, spring rolls and potstickers -- all great. I got the bbq mix plate and the short ribs were so good! We also got the drunken noodles and basil fried rice with seafood and both of those were 5 stars. Honestly can't decide who had the best meal. Will absolutely be coming back, might end up being a regular.

I visited Orchid Thai with the Explore Midtown Pass (active from September through November) to redeem their deal of 50% off an appetizer with the purchase of an entree. My partner and I needed a few minutes with the menu, and staff were very patient which I appreciated. My partner and I ordered two Thai teas with coconut cream, the potstickers (discounted), and two orders of pad see yew with medium heat. The potstickers were good and came with a simple soy sauce for dipping. The dinner portions were huge and big enough for me to take home leftovers while my partner enjoyed his all in one sitting. Medium didn't carry much of a kick, and it can benefit from amping up the spice level.Inside offers an intimate dining experience, given the slow foot traffic, and I noticed lots of takeout and online orders. Thai Orchid is open later than most restaurants, especially on weekday evenings, so I imagine that it may be a top pick for a late night meal that's better than fast food.

Beautiful restaurant. Ambiance is nice. We got the combination appetizer which was good. We also ordered basil chicken fried rice and red curry. Hate to leave a negative review but the red curry was one of the worst I've ever had. If you're going to charge close to $20 for one item it should taste like authentic Thai food. All of the servers and chefs (whom were nice) were Hispanic, and I respect that, but it reflected in the flavor aswell.

1st time trying this spot, out on a Saturday evening & I wouldn't mind circling back. The service was really attentive, patient, and made a few good recommendations for myself and who I was with. The inside of the restaurant was pretty cozy; I appreciated they had tvs & were turned to the basketball games (go warriors!). As far as the food, honestly I have had better, but I did enjoy the pad thai we got more than the crab fried rice and chicken wings we had. We had the lemon pepper wings, with buffalo sauce on the side, they were just meh-- definitely have had better wings elsewhere but I would circle back for the pad thai since the noodles were fluffy & each noodle was covered in sauce. Still, I'd recommend you drop in and try for youself.
