Creative food, serving a fusion of japanese and latin flavors. We came here for the 2 for $25 lunch deal and immediately greated by the maitre d. Their menu is seasonal with fresh seafood and local ingredients. My fave was the Tuna tostada. The oysters were good too. Cocktails were great too. Portions were small but prices are big if it weren't for the lunch deal. Knocking off a star for value.Customer service is outstanding with great attention to detail. The vibe is modern and clean with dim romantic lighting.Parking was a bit tricky but found paid parking a block over. This is a good place for a dinner date. I would come back for dinner to try the omakase six course.

We came for the 6-course, $75 Omakase, which I think is a good deal compared to getting items a la carte. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the maitre'd, Demetri and he took notice of the reservation notes and immediately wished me a happy birthday :) I like when restaurants take the time to read the notes, it makes a difference for the dining experience going forward. For my bday, we were offered the option of oyster shooters or a glass of bubbly for hubby and I. Bubbles are my jam and I appreciated the gesture. We caught the end of happy hour and got a couple drinks as well, and oysters from the happy hour menu. All of the dishes we had were delicious. The menu is fluid based on the season and availability, so you may not have the same dish on the next visit but know it'll be delicious. Chef Jeana also brought us the next dish, and one of the other chefs (girl power!) and were able to chat with both a bit about the dishes. I felt the timing in-between dishes was perfect. Standout items were the tostada, the pulpo (octopus) & arroz (rice), and the scallop. The next day, they will text you the menu w/the dishes you had along w/the sake/wine pairing (if you chose that option).I do wish they could provide a menu of the courses when you sit down so you could follow along in real-time since they know what they'll be serving, but I guess that's part of the omakase experience, you don't know what you'll get next. Parking was a bit tricky for us and had to park a block over, and paid meter parking. The restaurant serves delicious dishes, the customer service is great, and the has a nice vibe, it's romantic, and perfect for a dinner date! Overall, I look forward to our next visit.

I selected this place for the Omakase experience to celebrate with my godmother and godsister-it was her birthday. Overall it was a very elegant experience. I appreciated how either the maitre'd, chef, sous or waiter took turns serving the course. Know your allergies as they customize each dish. I noticed one of the dishes got olives instead of tomatoes since one of us had a preference. They customize each course-the flavors are so amazing. Each dish was delicately cooked/put together that provides a robust taste. Everything was freshly individually made-farm to fork! The ambience of the restaurant was very nice-I like the idea of a tile holding my utensils rather than being placed on the table or plate. Each detail was excellent.

Creative and complex cocktails, and the food accentuated their depth of flavor. The dishes had equally multi-layered flavors. The unagi oysters had nice contrasting temperatures and I enjoyed the spiciness of the atún tostada. My boyfriend liked the richness of the egg yolk and the char of the tofu in his soba noodle bowl. The service from Taylor was impeccable. We liked our $25 2 course lunch so much that we returned the next day for the $75 6 course omakase dinner with sake pairings. We once again had Taylor, who is a sake sommelier (!!), adeptly guiding us through the excellent dinner. Our favorites were the steelhead trout, prawns with beans & hummus, and ancient grains in herb sauce, but all of the courses were tasty with spot-on pairings. We are now inspired to do our own sake tastings at home!

I can't get over the lettuce wrap. I make many of them and have tried various ones, but this one takes the cake. We did the omakase dinner and are excited to go back. The meal was light, not heavy, refreshing, and full of vibrant textures and flavors. If you are searching for a meat/carb-heavy meal, this might not be the place for you. This is a great option if you're looking for wonderful service, a great time, and a deliciously crafted experience.

More fish less sauce por favor. We were excited to experience Mexican influence omakase but unfortunately I failed to see the Mexican influences shine through. Although the quality of the fish was good, the omakase dishes that tasted the best were the traditional hamachi crudo and oysters (homemade cocktail sauce is killer). I can see why the tostadas are al carte, I would definitely ordered more. But the beet salad, ahi tuna, and most disappointing mapo tofu were just okay. Service was 5 stars and the restaurant is in a great location. Also 5 start shout out to the sake pairing. This midtown location is relatively new so maybe they need sometime to find their legs.

Omakase Por Favor has arrived in Midtown Sacramento, bringing the creative fusion of flavors that made its Lincoln location a standout. During its soft opening, the owner was present, adding a personal touch to the experience and showcasing the passion behind the concept. The seasonal menu highlights fresh seafood and local ingredients, with close ties to vendors from the farmers market conveniently located right outside. Each of the six omakase courses offered elevated and delicate flavors, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to combining cuisines. While the mabo tofu served as the final course was tasty, it felt slightly out of sync with the rest of the lineup. The wine pairing was an excellent addition, featuring unique selections that perfectly complemented the dishes and were a refreshing departure from standard offerings. For those seeking variety, a non-omakase menu is available--but why miss out on the adventure? Trust the chef.Omakase Por Favor earns a well-deserved 5/5 for food, service, price, atmosphere, and location. It's a welcome addition to the Midtown dining scene, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Bravo to the team for an impressive debut!

I will start off by saying that this restaurant had only been officially open for 2 weeks. If you include their soft opening that happened prior than in total the restaurant had been open for roughly a month. It was our first time going to this place and we were very excited to try the tasting menu as it sounded wonderful based on how it's described online. Our reservation for our dining experience was at 6:45 p.m. and the restaurant was a little busy but not too crazy there was one large party of almost 10 and another one of eight closer to the bar..Let us start off with the Ambiance of the restaurant. The space has dim lighting which is nice as it creates a soft atmosphere for the restaurant. The details of the chairs and tables like fixtures and even the glasses that are used are very clean so it gives the restaurant an upscale feeling while still being cozy. There's also a small section that seems to be a private wine display that everyone can look at and potentially walk into if you would like. As we entered the space we were getting very well by the maitre d and they took us to our seats quite quickly which was nice. After a few minutes a waiter came to check on us explain the menu and how it works and what the recommendations were three out of the four guests decided to do the tasting menu and those same three also tried the cocktails which were the omakase seasonal cocktail with persimmons, the flamingo cocktail, and then the mocktail of high spirits. The service overall was okay. Our waiter at the very beginning was very helpful and definitely helped us understand the menu after that though it was pretty lacking in the attention given afterwards. We had to ask a couple of times for our table to get refilled with both still and sparkling water quite often. I called this out because one of the individuals in our party was not drinking and so he was definitely going through the water on the table quickly and so it would be nice to have that refreshed often so we didn't have to have him wait for the water. In addition the food itself was taking a while to come out by course number two and the waiter did come say it was going to be a bit and he apologized could have been done a little sooner cuz we waited about maybe 15-16 minutes before that happened. Again very nice very polite it would have been amped up if there was a little bit more attention to coming to check on our table. Now we will talk about the food so the tasting menu had a total of six items to go through. As a caveat the menu does change based on the season so this may or may not be available to you if you decide to go. Of the six courses I will say I particularly only enjoyed two of them because they had the right amount of flavor texture that I expect on a elevated tasting menu like this. The first dish which was the albacore and roasted cabbage was one of those items that I particularly enjoyed. The albacore was seared perfectly on the outside and the roasted cabbage gave a very nice earthiness to the dish. The next course was glass noodles with Farmers mushrooms. This one had really nice glass noodles and the presentation was definitely beautiful. My issue was that it was a bit oily and a little too salty with a sauces that were used. A slice of citrus or even a splash of vinegar would have really helped this dish out and not make it so intense on the palate and leave an oily residue behind in the mouth. After that was the shrimp plus crunchy rice lettuce wrap. The taste here for the dish was really nice it could have had a little bit more of a crunch to it or a little extra sauce because the lettuce used for it was a bitter lettuce and you could taste that if you didn't get the right amount of filling as you bit into it. The snow crab in pomegranate tostada was my second favorite dish because the chunks of snow crab were very succulent and the pomegranate added on top was a really nice burst of sweetness.Next was the tuna Maple with tofu. This dish definitely had a lot of potential the one thing that made it a little bit unappealing was the big chunks of candied walnuts that were in it. The main complaint was that the walnuts were so huge and so when you bit into them sometimes it felt like you were biting into a hard piece of candy which is not what you want when you're trying to enjoy this meal. The recommendation there would be to chop up the candied walnuts a little bit more. And the last dish which was the ginger jalapeno chicken skewer was hands down the least favorite course that came out. The flavors were a total miss, the texture was very odd when you bit into it.Overall I give this place three stars as it had some good qualities but the price that we paid which was $75 for the tasting menu in my opinion was not worth it because the flavors were a bit all over the place and I expected a bit more from this style of restaurant.

The creativity and flavors of the dishes are first class. We had the Omakazi dinner and each dish was unique. Demetri the Maitre d' was fantastic and the entire staff was very attentive and explained everything that was in each dish. The restaurant was comfortable, what a great experience!!!
