A very nice cafe with a rather large food menu. I've had the turkey club sandwich and one of their salads a few times. The breakfast sandwich is really where it's at though. They make their own English muffins!Coffee is strong and delicious They also have wine! The patio is typically where I like to sit (I come with my dog quite often)Staff has always been nice and friendly

Review is solely based on the "special" coffees & special of the day food. I was looking forward to try this place after seeing a lot of foot traffic every time I passed by. Went with co-worker for a mid-morning coffee after I saw their flyer on special coffee. Sounds very promising! We ordered 2 specials: Banana cream latte & the Honey Rose Long Black + the pulled pork special. First of all, the server gave us the wrong order by giving us 2 banana latte. So we let her know & she kinda gave us this dirty look. After gave us the correct drink, my co-worker tried it & it tasted horrible!!! She was going to finish it, but I told her to let the server know & she ended up taking the previous latte back. Once again, the server gave us a dirty look. The banana cream latte tasted ok, strong coffee base but barely tastes any banana (in the cream) except seeing those couple of banana chips for deco. As for the food, we waited quite long, & it wasn't super busy. It's open kitchen & we saw the chef was busy doing all the orders. So after 20 mins & all the people ahead of us got their food, we asked the server who said it's coming. Finally we got our food & it was kinda disappointed. We paid $12 for 3 tiny things! I can get more meat from the street vendor for $12! Still hungry... Despite all the people who loved this place, I doubt we are going back.

I love the convenient location since I work on Capitol Mall. I loved coming here when it first opened up. I don't mind paying the higher prices for the coffee and food since that time but it's just not worth it anymore. I always hope for the better since I only come in like once/twice a month, but mostly for convenience. The coffee just doesn't taste as good as it used to--it's like the machines haven't been cleaned or something. There's always a vinegar or lemon like after taste and that's just a simple latte. The food portions are lacking and dry. I usually get to go, and sometimes I forget to check. Dressing is missing, an item is missing. I get my to go orders next door now at House. Better tasting and portions for about the same price.

I was really disappointed in the customer service and actual food/beverage. The Cesar salad was $14 and it has two pieces of chicken and a few croutons and 80% of it was lettuce. Definitely not worth $14! And it took way longer than I expected. Because it was taking a lot longer than expected, I asked the cashier if they could check on my order, he gave a me a "look" and said he was helping someone else .... When I initially ordered, I had a couple of questions regarding the menu and the cashier was not helpful at all. I also noticed my mocha was made under 30 seconds which was concerning because I know espresso machines take atleast 30-60 seconds to extract the coffee itself . Overall I will not be coming back . There is plenty of places that are more affordable and you actually get your moneys worth .

Coffee shop is very popular despite the majority of downtown folks teleworking. Arrived and checked out the menu that was hand written on huge paper scrolls. The food all sounds tasty and very unique. Ordered our drinks and food and then we waited - but only for a minute and the kitchen and barista are quick. Coffee was perfect and the sandwich was served on a fluffy cloud of bread! So good.

I'm new at my job at capitol mall and wanted an easy lunch. Found the online ordering super easy and only had to wait about 5 minutes for my food when I went to the restaurant. However when I got back to the office to eat my food there were two issues. My veggie sandwich that was on wheat bread was toasted (description does not say toasted), and it was toasted so much it was like a cracker. It was really hard to eat but the flavor was good. Secondly I ordered a root beer that came in a bottle. Once they handed it to me I asked the gentleman is this twist off? He says yes. Well went up to the office and it was not. Thank goodness my office had a bottle opener. Not sure about a second chance. Maybe.

Grabbed a quick lunch and it was okay. Chicken Caesar salad was okay. The lettuce was fresh but the dressing was super thick. Chicken was also really, really dry. For $12, it's not really worth it honestly. Note to self and Yelpers, just order the sandwiches.

I recently decided to visit old soul on Capitol mall with a hungry co-worker and thought I would leave a review to capture our experience and thoughts on the food and feel of the place. I ordered the BLT and my colleague had the biscuits and gravy. Service was efficient yet a bit dismissive when we ordered but cordial when they handed us our food to go. Ambience was is typical of an office building restaurant but accentuated by a vintage bike that is chained to a big earthquake damping pile. My colleague reported that her biscuits and gravy was really good. She liked the gravy and said the biscuits were light and buttery. My BLT was underwhelming and seemed off point. It came on a ciabatta roll that was oddly chewy around the edges and the overall texture of the sandwich was soggy and not at all crispy - it had on wilted piece of lettuce, some thinly sliced bland tomatoes, some tasty bacon and an off-tasting guacamole. The quac is probably what killed it for me because it just ruined the texture and flavor of the sandwich. So, mixed results on the food but big props for the vintage bike and the earthquake safety!

Not my favorite location, buts it's proximity to the office makes it my most visited. Old soul has quite a few locations and honestly happy to visit all of them, but of course some are better than others haha! They don't have a clearly marked menu for drinks on board but I have seen a small menu on the counter on occasion. Can be a little daunting for someone who doesn't come often or isn't sure if they want to try something different or unique. Of course this is just coffee, otherwise they seem to keep a food menu up.Really have no complaints about this place. Hardly ever busy and staff is always very quick in serving my drinks. The only real downside with this location is it's limited hours but it's understandable as there isn't much open on the weekend to warrant it being open and being just a block off of DOCO doesn't help. One upside I discovered yesterday is you can order online! Nice, just another excuse for me to grab a brew on a quick break.
