Nothing Fancy Bakery

Dec. 2020 I had the pleasure of trying Nothing Fancy Bakery during an event. Their cupcakes are so yummy! What really stood out was how yummy the buttercream was. I love how Andrea is sweet and helpful. Today I visited The Creative Space to support the local small businesses. Nothing Fancy Bakery offered lots of different treats, including some yummy cookies. I opted for the chocolate dipped shortbread pistachio cookies. I highly recommend them. Omg they're sooo delicious I need more!!! Andrea is so sweet and her treats are even sweeter! I recently discovered this nothing fancy bakery through a Yelp event and quickly followed her on Instagram! She was super sweet and patient when teaching us how to properly decorate and ice a cupcake. Not to mention, her buttercream is delicious. It's the perfect amount of sweetness and so creamy. Omg, I could've eaten the whole bag if I wasn't on a zoom call. Hahaha I can't wait to venture out to one of her pop ups and get my hands on a holiday box! Thanks Andrea for a great event!

Andrea was sweet and included a 10% off for cookies. I ordered two dozen cookies for my sister's birthday. I ordered the Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies and the Loaded Chocolate Cookies. They are very filling. Perfectly packed cookies of two in a box which were perfect because it was so easy for me to pass out! Thank you so much Andrea! I think one tip is to have a venmo account or post it to your Instagram or website so people can easily Venmo a tip! I didn't see a tip option available when I placed my order and I totally forgot my cash!

Did a Yelp virtual event with the owner of the bakery where we picked up kits from the creative space then had a zoom meeting where she taught us how to decorate them. She explained things very well and the cupcakes turned out great! The buttercream was flavorful and wasn't super sweet.

My friend and I tried delicious Gluten Free Chocolate Dipped Shortbread Cookies from the February event at The Creative Space. While quite crumbly and a bit messy to eat, it was a good nutty mouthfeel. I'll be sure to look out for more pop ups in Sac!The shortbread cookies are made with almond flour and dipped in dark chocolate, topped with roasted almonds--a few of my favorites for a good pairing in the cookie!

I purchased the Kitchen Sink Cookie and the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie at the Small Business Saturday Food and Craft Fair and both were amazing. I would highly recommend getting a few to try the next time they pop up!

I've only tried the Kitchen Sink cookie, but I think it may be the best cookie I've ever eaten - and I didn't even eat it fresh! Quality chocolate (and just enough to satisfy you but keep you coming back for more), plus plentiful bites of dried apricots and other fruit, bits of nuts for extra texture, all contained within a perfect oatmeal cookie with a delicious brown sugar and butter flavor throughout. What a treat! Even the dried fruits tasted high quality!

I highly recommend this bakery! I attended a Yelp zoom cupcake decorating class, and the cupcakes and frosting are excellent! I cannot wait to order other bakery items from them! Thank you for highest quality baked items! And if you know me, you know I am a baked foods snob!

Really awesome and nice owner! She made a fun online zoom event and taught a cupcake decorating class! Everything looked wonderful! The products were all separated and tasted delicious! Support this local business!

All these reviews are years old. I've also had her cookies 2 years ago. I first tried the cookies at an event, in which they were delicious and she was very nice.I then ordered a dozen, which you have to pick up at her house. She wasn't so pleasant here. She leaves the cookies outside on a bench. I rang her doorbell to ask a question (I wanted to make sure I wasn't taking someone else's cookies). When she opened the door, she looked so disgusted and bothered. Wow. Like excuse me! Currently, my bestie ordered some cookies. They were DRY and crumbly , like an old batch. So nasty. Very disappointed because it's not cheap. My bestie didn't reach out to the owner because of how rude she is.
