Nemuri Kuma Jujitsu

My 14-year-old son has been a student of Sensei Carter's for nearly 7 years, and we continue to be extremely pleased with the instruction and quality of this program. Values such as respect for self and others, perseverance, self-confidence, trustworthiness, and conscientiousness are all emphasized by this sensei as he masterfully teaches the techniques of jujitsu to his students. We highly recommend this dojo to anyone wishing to learn this beautiful martial art in a positive, affordable, uplifting environment. You will not be disappointed!

My teenage son has been at Nemuri Kuma for a couple of years and really loves it. The teachers are warm and encouraging. There is a nice variety of instruction and a lot of personal development. My son has developed confidence, both physically and mentally and really enjoys the atmosphere of camaraderie in the adult evening classes. I appreciate the reasonable cost and the fact that there is no contract. I would recommend Nemuri Kuma without reservation.

Tonight was my first night at this dojo. I was a bit nervous as my martial arts background differs slightly from this style. Sensei Carter and Sensei Pete made it an easy transition and were very patient in dealing with me. They were both very friendly and made learning from them enjoyable. Thank you for a good experience, I will most definitely be back.

Sensei Larry is great and does a good job working with kids. My son is 7 and loves coming here and is always excited to go to class. The other students are also friendly. He's been learning strength, coordination, agility, and self defense.

My kids have been attending classes at Nemuri Kuma for 5+ years. We couldn't be more delighted with the instruction and sense of community that we have found there. Sensei Larry teaches with a combination of discipline and humor that helps each child reach their highest potential within the art. Jujitsu is a wonderful martial art for learning to work with a partner and developing discipline and confidence. It is accessible to people of different shapes and sizes because it depends more on disrupting balance than strength. It is especially great for girls!At Nemuri Kuma, the monthly rate is VERY reasonable (especially compared to some places in town) and there are no hidden (belt testing) fees or long-term contracts. The monthly fee allows kids to come to class as often as they want Monday - Thurs. This allows flexibilty to work around busy school/family schedules.I whole-heartedly reccomend Nemuri Kuma Jujitsu!!

I agree that Sensei Carter is terrific with kids and helps them succeed with a combination of hunor and discipline. My 13 year old son has fun, learns a lot and gets great exercise. I think the price is reasonable as well.
