Some red wines I got a small taste of while standing at the bar. Primitivo was recommended and my favorite. Malbec was my 2nd favorite.

I was so excited to see that Nello Olivo Tasting Room and Hwy 50 Brewery were still so hopping around 6 PM on a weekend. Hwy 50 Brewery has live music on weekends, so Nello Olivo stays open later to match their hours. 8 PM on Fridays & Saturdays and 7 PM on Sundays!!! I don't have to leave Apple Hill around 5 or 6 PM anymore. What a wonderful and inviting place to do a wine tasting! I received such gracious service from Mark and another male bartender. I was allowed several free sample sips before deciding what to order. If you want a proper tasting flight with a tray of 5 wine glasses (filled with 2 ounces or about an inch up the wine glass?), it costs $25 if you want to sit and drink at a table and only $15 if you are willing to stand and taste at the bar, assuming the bar isn't too busy. A glass of wine is $10 and a glass of premium wine is $20, as of 7/29/2023. There is also a Yelp check-in offer for a $15 flight of 5 wines.Mark recommended the 2020 PRIMITIVO, which is his favorite and ended up being my favorite. Smooth. The MALBEC was my 2nd favorite for its flavor. I also tried the Sangiovese, Barbera, Sinfonia, Chardonnay, and Cali Mojo. Kept on tap, the Cali Mojo tasting was ample and was served over ice cubes. So refreshingly sweet, fruity, and bubbly that I ended up ordering it! I was slow to realize you could order the CALI MOJO in colorful cans to take home. I should have done that. It's a lovely wine spritzer or wine soda. You can purchase snacks to go with your tasting. I forgot to take a look at the charcuterie offerings in a fridge, but the sweet treats are only 2 for $1. These include individually wrapped Ferrero Rocher, Madeleine cookies, and brownie bites. Very reasonably priced and thoughtful. You could also buy food from Hwy 50 Brewery next door (i.e., pizza, hot dogs, tacos, salad, fries), and you're welcome to wander, sit, drink, and listen to live music over there.Nello Olivo also sells attractive and affordable gifts. A cute blanket with cats or a pretty swimsuit or beach cover-up costs $20-$25. $6 bracelets. $8 dangling earrings.Nello Olivo is conveniently located less than 2 miles away from Boa Vista Orchards on Carson Road. I didn't realize Camino was that close. The parking lot is quite large and long, but I imagine it could get full if it's packed. Nello Olivo is in a plaza within walking distance of several other wine tasting rooms and restaurants.Do your fun wine tasting here!

I love stopping in here, albeit only seldom and random occasions am I driving through this area and not in a hurry to get home, but my boyfriend and I especially enjoyed the treat we had last time we were in and Nello was pouring the wine. It was actually last winter and their electricity was out due to a storm (it was pouring and we decided to take a break from out rainy drive home). The stop was fun and we went home with a 2020 Petite Sirah. I also bought a cat flask in a leather carrier, and, our prized purchase, was the 4 pack of canned, carbonated wine. It was delicious! It's $6 each for their small cans, and I was totally into the taste, bubbles, everything about it. Can't wait for the next time we drive through Camino because with the brewery and pizza next door, and this canned wine, it makes for a really fun rest stop!!

The ambiance was great! Amazing Italian wines and great customer service! We loved that it was next door to a brewery for our friends that enjoy beer plus it's family friendly! New wine club members and excited to try all of the amazing wines!

Continuing from my HWY 50 Brewery experience to Nello Olivo's Tasting Room...This was the perfect date day/night for my boyfriend and I. Both beer and wine tasting in one area without having to drive to the next location? That's a win. The tasting room itself was cute and cozy, had a few seating inside, and outdoor as well. There is the option to get a flight and seat inside or outside next to the firepit (if there is one open). Chris helped us with our tasting selections, we decided to go with the reds. I'd say a majority of the red wines were smooth, well balanced, and tasty. Not only did we enjoy our wines but we enjoyed the company. There were 2 other couples inside and we happened to all chit chat with one another. Chris was also super helpful and made everyone laugh. We ended up leaving with a case of Malbec and Barbera. The Malbec is definitely my favorite here! The price for the wine is fair for the good quality wine you will receive. Will definitely be back!

Very good selection of wine. They did close a. Little early (4pm), so we didn't get to experience it as much as we would have liked, but it seemed like it was very nice.

On a recent visit to Apple Hill, my husband spotted the new HWY 50 Brewery, and decided to give it a try. We stopped in, he bought a pint, and we sat outside to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Taking in the scenery, I noticed that right next door to HWY 50 Brewery is the Nello Olivo Winery tasting room. I immediately went in to check it out. So glad I did! For a $5.00 tasting fee (waived with a purchase), I was able to sip on some amazing wines. Tony was the host, and he was very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed every wine poured, all were well balanced and delicious. We bought some to take home; and will definitely come back.Special note--great venue! Whether you like wine OR beer (or both), something for everyone!

Friendly and knowledgable service in an airy tasting room attached to a restaurant. We found the tasting fee to be reasonable and liked being able to choose off anything on the wine menu for our selections, but the pours were a bit on the meager side compared to other places we've visited with similar prices. I ordered a pizza from the restaurant which was brought over to us while at the wine bar. I appreciated the convenience of that. In all, a nice and affordable stop for bites and wine tasting. But we weren't blown away by the wine and would probably try a new place for wine next time we're in the area.

If you like having the drunk, old winemaker brag about how much money he earns, make sexual innuendos, inappropriate jokes, and say out loud that he slaps his elderly, disabled wife around and say 'maybe that's why she's so lazy' - then this is the place for you. Another thing I learned - 99pts score on a wine doesn't mean much - I find better stuff at discount liquor stores or Grocery Outlet all day long. Skip this place - there are tons of better experiences around here. Trash.
