The skinny:Quick serviceGood qualityThe lengthy:We wanted to eat out, two kids in-tow (5 & 3), after a couple of appointments. We had been wanting to check out this spot in particular and more dim sum options in general. They seated us immediately and provided a high chair (albeit without the belt clip). There are two televisions mounted near the ceiling, a few fish tanks closer to the kitchen, and a hall leading to the (decently clean) bathrooms. We ordered food and tea (chrysanthemum), then quickly went to the bathroom to clean up before food arrived.Shrimp dumpling (har-gow): a nice-sized ball of shrimp inside the chewy rice wrapperBeef rice roll: average quality- not outstanding but goodSoup dumpling (xiao long bao): hot but very little soup, flavorfulChinese broccoli: very good- fresh and properly cooked- soft enough to bite but not mushyShrimp and chive dumpling: these came out nice and hot, a little on the salty side but good Custard buns: this was excellent- gooey and full hot custard center, soft and fluffy outer bunWe spent under $50, for 2 adults & 2 kids, and brought home a little bit of veggie. Good service, good value. This might be our go-to dim sum spot since it is very convenient for us and the value is there!

I enjoyed the shrimp chive dumpling! I can't wait to be back to try more of their dim sum, lunch menu items, and overall their other offerings on their extensive menu. They seemed busy with online orders but we were seated quickly, welcomed in and acknowledged, and our food came out quickly. Interior was beautifully decorated for lunar new year and we look forward to coming back soon!

Nathan's recently went under new management and they added dim sum to their menu. Came for the dimsum and it did not disappoint. It's nice that it's made to order so the food is a little fresher. Tried the siu mai, fried shrimp ball, beef rice roll, shrimp rice roll, golden shrimp rice roll, chicken feet, black bean sauce pork, fried pork dumpling, and the Hong Kong style noodles. Everything was delicious and I look forward to coming back again.

Word was spreading of a new dim sum game in town and I went to check it out. I'm happy to report Nathan's serves up some decent dim sum and is a welcome option for the denizens of Elk Grove. Currently the dim sum scene in EG was pretty weak, so people can rejoice. The place is medium sized but I can see it filling up quickly on weekend mornings. I went on a weekday late afternoon and there was a good sized crowd still. The standouts were the fried items, like the golden shrimp roll and salt and pepper squid (see my pix). The standard dim sum favorites like har gow and siu mai were above average in portion but for me the flavor was a bit muted, and needed some soy sauce and chili oil to get it to my liking. The bolo bao was pretty good also. Service is actually decent for a dim sum place and they were attentive to our needs. Decor is classic chinese joint so you will feel nostalgic and right at home.Next time I'm in the area and need some dim sum fix, I'm there!

Great dim sum! The food is just as good as the spots in South Sacramento, but without the crazy wait. Everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and came out quickly. The restaurant is clean, the service is friendly, and it's such a chill spot to enjoy really good dim sum without feeling rushed or crowded. Definitely coming back to try their dinner items one of these days.

We ordered 3 items to go and all of them tasted old or cooked straight from the freezer. This is my second time trying this place out and this time around it tasted different. We had the sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper spare ribs, and Mongolian beef. All three items for $45. I should have went to journey to the dumplings instead. We gave this place another try because our auntie and uncle loves it. But then we learned from them they used to love it before management changed. The meat was dense. The flavor wasn't up to par. It was pretty disappointing and we will not be returning.

We arrived around 10:45 a.m. The restaurant already had some customers seated, we were seated right away. You tell the staff what type of tea you want, $1.50 per person for the weekend. They give you the menu card, and you can write the no. of quantity you want for the dim sum you want. We had Siu Mai, har gao, steamed custard buns, rice rolls with Chinese donuts, stirred fried noodles, and steamed BBQ pork buns. Their dim sum is flavorful and not fatty, especially the siu mai. I'm very picky about siu mai. My baby boy enjoys his food. Baby approved. The restaurant is a little crowded with many people. I feel it's better to come here with a small party. The staff is nice. Parking is always not a problem.

One of my normal spots for Chinese in the EG area. Although it doesn't match up to some of the places in Sac, its proximity makes it one of my family's go-to places to grab some food. The Spare Ribs with Honey Garlic Sauce is very flavorful. Fried Rice w/Dried Scallop Egg Whites is a menu item we always get & had been consistent throughout the years (but it would be difficult to mess up fried rice). I must remember to skip over the Tomato Beef Chow Mein; the flavor is off and the coloring looks odd as well. Although it is typical for me to feel dehydrated after Chinese food, I feel especially parched after eating food from Nathan's, indicating high levels of salt and/or msg. Prices are affordable & portions are good. I just recommend eating in moderation, since sometimes the food is too oily & salty for me to consume large quantities at a time.

The best one is Siu Mai 5/5Soup Dumplings 5/5Shrimp Dumplings 4/5Shrimp rice roll 4/5Beef rice roll 4/5Beaked BBQ Pork Bun 4/5Fried Pork Dumplings 4/5Pineapple Bun 4/5Beef Tripe 4/59 small plates is around 51$ and I think the Price is affordable and reasonable in Elk Grove. Restaurant looks new but no smell, I guess they remodel it. On Sunday morning around 11am it's half full of people, I guess people like us heard from family to come here try it. Service is good too. But I suggest their waiters speak English better. Next time we will try the food on the menu that we haven't ordered yet.

Nathan's has been a long standing staple in Elk Grove and they recently upgraded with Dim Sum on their menu. It's pretty decent as there are a select few dim sum options in our area. The sticky rice, pork dumplings, chicken feet, pork riblets, and bbq pork buns are great in size and flavor. I ordered to go and didn't dine in but when I went to pick up, it was pretty busy on a Sunday morning. It could get a little noisy the don't expect for a quiet eating experience lol. Large families and good food. Always a good combo.
