I'll keep this review brief:TAKE ZUMBA WITH V! I have done Zumba all over the country and V is, by far, the best instructor I've ever had. She doesn't really break down the moves for you, you just need to jump in and try. But expect high energy, professional level choreography, and hip-shakin' music. I love the diversity of students, including a range of ages and body types. There is no shame in this room! And the class is only $5!!!i don't live in Sacramento, but whenever I visit Sacramento, I make sure to attend a class. LOVE V!!

This is an update!!! We decided to try out the kid's class again. We signed up for a year (as of November 2016). They have made huge improvements: 1. The younger kids have their own class. This has improved class safety. 2. The entire class time is used to learn Capoeira. No more 15-20 minute talks in the beginning, Yay. The kids are able to do more in the class. The time is maximized.3. More than one teacher per class. The kids get more attention and correction. They are able to learn more and do more during the hour. 4. The teachers have all been kid friendly. They are encouraging and fun. 5. The class is organized and planned out. I recommend this place. Other benefits- -They do 3-5 minutes of running in the beginning. -The kids get to learn Brazilian Portuguese songs and instruments for 10-20 minutes each class. -They learn Capoeira in a class setting THEN, at the end of class, they get to practice their moves (safely) on each other. -They also do small group stations. This allows the kids to do so much more. They do not have to wait in long lines to do any of the activities. I love that they do this. What a difference.-Every class is different and fun.-Classes are kid centered.Recommendation - more Portuguese words/instructions throughout the class.I hope this review was useful

My daughter has been training at this studio for a couple of years. Capoeira is great for kids and adults alike. It is a no (or minimal)-contact martial art that emphasizes self control, focusing on harmonizing with your opponent, and discipline. The great part is that the students also learn a little (or a lot of) Portuguese, Brazilian culture, traditional songs and instruments. They advance not only by mastery of certain movements, but also by performing acts of service to their community and their studio. I've come to really appreciate the owner/mestre at MOVE! He is patient but direct with the kids. He encourages them but they have to earn his praise. He's worked so hard and put so much of himself into this community and into this studio, there's no WAY you would walk away from this place feeling anything but great. The prices are more than fair, way less than I've paid for any other activity my daughter has enrolled in. And with the addition of gym and dance, yoga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Variety Nights it looks like there's something for everyone. If you haven't already, drop in sometime to check out a class. You won't regret it :)

Kinder Capoeira classes are amazing. Mestre teaches in this amazing way with this incredible storytelling that is unlike any other magical childhood experience I've been able to find for my children. My kids love every single part of the class, they are literally grinning ear to ear or actually laughing and giggling out loud the entire time. Do yourself a favor and take your kids to the 20 days for $20 and see for yourself, magical, spectacular, indescribably beautiful. They like gymnastics (Planet Gymnastics) but they LOVE capoeira! It's dance, it's martial arts, it's language (they can both count to 10 in portugese and we regularly refer to "go around the hoda"), but I think the part that makes me the most enthusiastic is the magical storytelling, it is so precious, and so nearly impossible to find other than for the tiny fortunate few who win a waldorf lottery. Make it happen, you'll be so blown away. The ONLY criticism is the pricing system is not really friendly towards the way kids' schedules really work with other sports' seasons, vacations, whatever, my next email is to the studio with some brainstorms about how this could be improved.

Our son loves the capoeira classes here. We started when we were looking for dance classes, because our son loves to dance. The classes are great for both boys and girls and accommodate kids as young as 3.5 years old. In the kinder class they teach movement, obstacles, instruments, Portuguese and self-discipline, all while having fun. I highly recommend this place.

This place is intense! And fun! And friendly!I started playing capoeira years ago, with this group, and loved it. Insane work out, fun but serious teacher. Moved away, came back... the classes are well-structured, the teachers are knowledgeable, helpful and creative. They teach music, language, dance and martial arts - all in one. It is great for people who like a challenge and who like variety. It definitely has me pushing my limits physically and mentally. I highly recommend to anyone - teachers work with you at your level, which is great. It is also GREAT for kids.

Move Studio (aka Agua de Beber Capoeira) mostly teaches capoeira, a Brazilian dance-martial arts, to adults and children. This is an incredibly healthy environment that I recommend to both children and adults. The camaraderie between instructors and the students adds so much to the energy of the place. The workout is vigorous and uses muscles that you don't regularly use in other type of exercises. Don't let the fact the owner, "Contramestre Galego" (his capoeira title) is not Brazilian. This man (Patrick Hilligan) has a bachelor and an M.A. in physical education and has been trained by top Brazilian capoeira "mestres" and had to study capoeira and come up the ranks for ten years before receiving his title. He can play capoeira really well, play all instruments, and has a wealth of knowledge about capoeira history. There's also a lot of involvement in community events. Five stars!!
