Montessori Country Day

Excellent school thanks to the amazing staff and culture here. My daughter has attended from 3 months old and now she is 4. Carmen, Delya, Laura, Joanna, and of course Martha have such an obvious love for children and it's so heartwarming. Also the assistants are great and add an amazing language component! Martina, who speaks in Spanish to the toddlers, and Xiao Li, who speaks Mandarin and teaches the kids Chinese songs, are absolute gems! The vibe is so family-like and you will feel safe leaving your child there for the day. They have plenty of outdoors time, singing, stories, and activities and I appreciate the parent conferences to give an update on progress. The kids seem to learn naturally, discovering gradually on their own.I love that snacks are included. They have a meeting for parents every month that helps you learn more about child development within the Montessori context. Our kids are thriving here and we'd recommend it to anyone.

This school is amazing! We love the child-centered approach to education and their focus on hands-on learning. The curriculum has boosted our child's focus on activities, learning, and play. We find it helpful that our daughter is in a classroom that spans three years during which she has the same teacher and peer group. The teachers are kind and intentional in how they speak to the children. We would not want our little girl anywhere else!Anthony and Erin

Amazing well run daycare, with caring and kind staff who are always available and responsive. We have two kids and they both go there. I've found the environment even educational for me :)

I love the school and the staff. They are so attentive to the children. I have observed how much of a positive impact the school provides to my children in their growth and development. My twins have been attending the school since 8 months (now 4) and I would not want to have them anywhere else. Communication is great with the staff as well. I love the Montessori Philosophy and the school makes sure to follow it and provide staff with ongoing professional development. I appreciate the parent teacher conferences as well that are provided.

Montessori Country day is a magical place. I cannot say enough wonderful things about all of the teachers and staff. They have created classroom environments that inspire a love of learning and curiosity in which all children feel safe and loved. Although all 3 of our children are very different, each of them have flourished in their own unique ways at Montessori Country Day. We are so thankful that this is the foundation from which our children's learning journeys get to build!

If I could give MCD 100 stars I would. I am a longtime early elementary teacher and principal and I feel 1000% confident in the education my two sons are receiving at MCD. The director is exceptional and every teacher truly remarkable. Our sons have learned so much and become so independent. These teachers are caring and go above and beyond. Our son had to have three surgeries and the teachers and directors have been the most accommodating/caring/and loving. I am so blessed that my two sons go here.

Montessori Country Day, is a truly magical environment where my daughter is thriving. She is a sensory seeker and the classroom structure is a perfect fit! The amount of love, compassion, and one-on-one care she receives is amazing. Academia has become such a huge focus these days, even with me, that I didn't realize some of the key components I needed to make learning (not memorizing) work. Now I see that a lot of institutions work backwards, and children are left behind socially, and unable to self regulate. The program and teachers instill great value, social skills, respect, the ability focus and work independently. I love to hear my daughter using words like "may I, and shall we." As for academics, my daughter would be considered pre-k in the fall of 2022 but is doing kindergarten level work. When I receive newsletters from the school I see pictures of older students (kindergarten) doing maybe 2nd or 3rd grade level work and writing in cursive! My husband and I are so appreciative of the MCD staff and feel truly blessed that our daughters's most important years are being shaped by them. This school has topped my expectations. My mom worked at KinderCare for most of my teenage years so I am familiar with daycares and how they work. This school is a whole other level. I feel extremely lucky and privileged to have both my daughters attend this school. The staff are amazing and the development that is apparent in both my daughters is astounding. I can't recommend this school highly enough.

Experienced teachers, great environmentBoth of our sons attended Montessori Country Day in Sacramento's Pocket neighborhood. We can't say enough about the school's experienced, thoughtful staff. The teachers have decades of experience working with young children and it shows in their lessons for the kids and their communication with parents. We also appreciate the stability of the staff. We came to MCD after sending our older son to a daycare that had almost constant turnover. That has not been the case at MCD, allowing the boys to build long relationships with their teachers. Our son was well-prepared academically when he left MCD for 1st grade.

We can't begin to say how grateful we are to have our kids (5 and 2) at Montessori Country Day. The school director (Martha), the staff, and all the amazing teachers truly make this a home away from home for our children. The care and affection they show our kids is genuine and solid, and that is not something you come by often in life. We are always amazed at the progress our kids make at the school, and at all of the concept and skills they learn. We would absolutely recommend this school to anyone who asks!
