The food hit my soul - exactly what I wanted! I came because I was craving tteokbbokki, which did not disappoint. The spicy pork bulgogi was my favorite! All the banchan was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly. The restaurant was clean. The only thing that I was disappointed by was that I didn't order more food. I will definitely be back.

The food was subpar, I feel like the seasonings for the Yangyam Gejjang was a bit too sweet for my liking, but I am from the bay so my review for this place is a bit skewed. The service was good, there wasn't a lot of people during this time but the server made sure we were doing okay from time to time. The ambience was quiet, and peaceful. Maybe some music or something to keep the energy there! Other than that it was a decent restaurant!

Our friends and extended family always bring up this place when we talk about Korean food. It has been a long while since we went, so we checked it out. The service was excellent, but the food was mixed. Spicy pork bulgogi was great, the tofu soup was good, and the tteokbokki was only so-so.

It's been a while since we came here. We stopped by here bc my friends raved about it and my husband wanted to originally go to Smile Market.Modurang box (beef, pork, chicken bulgogi) - it's a first my son would prefer chicken bulgogi instead of beef. The beef bulgogi was a little chewier than most place we tried. And the flavor was lacking. The chicken was a little dry but my kids were okay with the flavor so they ate it. Because the pork was red (flavoring/spice) my kids thought it was spicy. They tried the pork but was not a fan. Maybe they will like it for dinner bc that's what for dinner (leftover) Soft tofu soup (seafood) - classic dish that is to be ordered anywhere for me. The flavor was good. Wished I did ask for spicy bc that would have been better. But the kids didn't care for it so next time I'll ask for spicy for me. Would try again without the kids. Kimchi Fried rice - flavorful but we didn't finish bc we are trying to cut our carb intake. Just the perfect amount of kimchi flavoring.Side dishes - maybe bc jap chae is not part of the side dishes that's why I like YD most. The sweet potato was a tad dry. We had another dish last night with the sweet potato so had my daughter try and she didn't care for this one. Overall 3 stars for me.If you are a party of 5, your check will already include an 18% tip. Which I think is nuts bc the waitress came only 4 time. One to bring our water and utensils, 2 to take our order, 3 to bring our food, and last to bring a scissors that I asked for. To me that does not warrant an 18% service tip.

I wanted to find a better Korean place since our regular place seems to have lost it's quality. I found Modurang through different reviews. It is a little far to go but decided to try it out. We arrived and the parking lot was almost full. Got the last spot. No reservations and we were seated right away. The set up is a little weird but if you want so privacy eating it might be good for you. It's like a maze. There are walls up and the place is sections off into cubicles like dinning. Our section had five tables but the outer ones had two or three. The prices seemed a little high but when we got our food the quality was worth it. The banchan we got was not as many as other places but the freshness and quality in taste was great. Even things we don't really eat tasted good here. I got their Galbi beef and wow it was so flavorful and melted in my mouth. The soft tofu stew with mushrooms was the bomb. I loved that they used black mushrooms which have more flavor. My daughter got the Galbi Tang stew which was yummy. the meat feel off the bone and there were a lot of pieces. Each dish was so much flavor and the quality was fantastic. We will be coming back. It was worth the trip. New favorite Korean place.

I got their Bibimbap in hot stone bowl and I think it was a great serving size! Normally I can finish a bowl, but this time I had leftovers for later. I love their abundance of bonchon, especially the seaweed? one! While I am not in the area, I would make an effort to stop by if I was near. Parking kind of sucks, but it would be worth it!

Everything we ordered here was so tasty. The galbi and bulgogi were extremely tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Of the 2 meats, the galbi was superior. I love that they serve the meat with onions as well. The meats came with all the typical side dishes and rice. The service was a bit lacking, which is the only reason I'm docking 1 star.

Was absolutely blown away by the Army Stew Hotpot here! My friends know I typically don't eat Korean food, but I think I have found my dish in this cuisine. We ordered the Army Stew Hotpot, and it really hit the spot! The soup has the perfect combination of comfort food like rice cakes, sausage and tofu, and it just gives the perfect bite of warm food when eaten with rice. The actual soup base is super flavorful - a nice balance of spicy, sour, and umami flavors. I was extremely impressed!Service was great as well. We kept asking for refills on the Banchan, and they were so sweet and would give us extra each time!Would 100% recommend you give the soups here a try!

Excellent Korean fare, attentive service. If I knew it was going to be this good, I would've taken a lot of pictures. We have pretty good Korean food in San Francisco (and we've also traveled and eaten in Seoul before), so I wasn't expecting the same level as our SF Sunset neighborhood restaurant, Shin Toe Bul Yi, but I have to say this restaurant exceeded expectations and we will be back when in the area. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but as others have written, inside it's very clean and well designed. You have to go inside and try it out! Komapsumnida!
