The Apple Hill latte was great! Peep the Algerian Mint Matcha in the back (incredibly refreshing!).

This Milka location is right inside WAL Public Market. There's seating available inside and outside the market and the counter is simple to visit and order from.During my recent visit I was greeted by a very friendly barista who an Apple Hill Mocha ($8.75) for me. We bantered about the Sacramento heat and wanting real fall to be here faster.I like that they charge a set price for the coffee and don't have tipping available. They just charge enough to make sure their staff is paid fairly. While $8.75 seems like a lot for a mocha, I would typically pay that or more at other spots after tipping so in my mind it's fair and puts their employees first. My drink was delicious and the coffee art made me smile. Of course I had to take a couple photos before adding a lid.I'll definitely be back for more.

First, let me say that the ingredients used are definitely top notch. You can taste the quality. I ordered a regular mocha and a mint mocha. I liked the mint mocha more. The flavor profile was well balanced. But the regular mocha was just too bitter for my taste. Well made but just a little too bitter. Lost a star on flavor. What lost another star and has me rating this place 3 out 5 is the pricing scheme. I dont like that they automatically include tip and other items in the price. What if the service wasn't good? What if theyre setting the tip at like 30%? I'd rather have control over these factors as well as knowing where my money is going. These two small drinks were almost $20 (!!) That was all I got for that price. Yeah, great quality but what I'm getting for that price has me rethinking my choices. Probably won't return. But I will say that the service was great and there was no wait. Check it out. See what you think.

Milk'a Coffee Roaster opened up a new location; their second. It's in downtown Sacramento in the WAL Public Market right in the heart of the Historic R Street District. The spot is a walk up counter with indoor and outdoor seating. Besides coffee, they also sell pastries which they get from Old Soul which is another local downtown based coffee roaster. Milka's owner, Samir, sources the coffee bean from Rwanda. He roasts them two different ways to get a light roast and a dark roast. I luv both roasts. Another tidbit is that the flavored syrups are all handcrafted. They either source them from local crafters or make it themselves. They have some pretty unique flavors such as pine, Algerian mint, and hibiscus. Some are limited release used in the seasonal speciality drinks. Also they don't up charge you for almond or oat milk choices. I've been a fan of Milka's. I've enjoyed their drip coffees, mochas, and lattes. The new seasonal Sweetheart Latte is floral tasting with a creamy, smooth taste. I frequented their original location at 1501 G Street. That location is a registered historic building, it's a house built in 1861 in the Mansion Flats neighborhood. Luv that the owner is keeping with the theme of opening shops in historic buildings. The WAL Public Market is located in a registered National historic building (Lawrence Warehouse).

Milka you can TAKE MY MONEY! I've been dying to try Milka's for forever (I drive by their G Street spot daily on my way home from work) so once I found out their R Street location was open, I walked right on over from my apartment. What a cute spot! If you're familiar with the WAL Public Market, you might recall they are in the spot Camelia's used to be in right across from Fish Face. There was basically no wait and the drinks were served quickly. I opted for the Apple Hill Late (hot w/ oat milk) and it was just what I wanted on this chilly fall day! The staff were so nice, their shop is in a great location, and the drinks were pure perfection! Do yourself a favor and stop by Milka's ASAP!

Since Sacramento is one of the top rated "coffee" cities, what better way than to pay a visit to "Milka Coffee Roasters". I've been to their original location that has been around since early-2019. And just recently, I had the opportunity to check out their 2nd location that opened in late-November 2022. Located at 1104 R St, this Milka is situated right in the WAL Public Market and adjacent to many other neighboring businesses. I particularly enjoy this location due to parking being easier to find as well as unique and historic buildings that have been renovated after the past couple of decades. This location is conveniently opened for business 7 days a week from 8:00am to 3:00pm. The interior layout is rather open and spacious. I felt as if they need to dress up the place a bit more but considering they are only on their third week of business (as I'm writing this review), I will give them time to get more situated. Inside, you will find a colorful mural along the wall as well industrial wooden benches/tables and a very sleek espresso station. There is also a generous outdoor patio area overlooking R St. which is perfect for the more comfortable Sacramento days. What I particularly like about Milka is that the price you see is the price you pay as ALL tips, taxes, and fees are including in their beverage and food items. Here you will find a nice assortment of coffee & tea drinks (hot or iced), house specialty lattes, and specialty tea lattes. During my visit, they carried limited food items but their main location (on 15th and G St.) offers unique frosted donuts as well as freshly baked breads, scones, and other various pastries. Since this was my first time, I went with their "Iced Vanilla Latte" (priced at $6.75). Service was quick as I arrived around 12:35pm during the afternoon of Tuesday 12/5/2023.Overall, this "Milka Coffee Roasters" is an excellent choice to enjoy a delicious beverage. I am hoping the hours of operation can be extended like the other location. My drink was strong but still on the sweet & creamy side. And the service was top notch as the employees that I encountered genuinely enjoyed being there. With that said and done, I am giving the 11th & R St. Milka Coffee Roasters an above average four-star rating.

Good coffee and matcha here, I've tried a plain cappuccino, pine latte, and matcha iced latte here and I would recommend all 3. The pine latte kind of reminded me of maple syrup but different. This location is inside of the WAL public market across from Fish Face poke bar. The service is always fast and friendly at this location, I highly recommend stopping by and trying something and walking around inside the market since there are other stores in there and art on display.

Great drinks! I like how tax, tip and choice of milk is worked into the price too. The staff is friendly and I also enjoyed a art installation about the history of the business that was up at WAL several months ago.

It's a cute location, mediocre coffee for the price. The customer service was concerning. We went in and it took forever for the barista to come and take our orders. That wasn't the issue for us, my boyfriend does not react well to ANYTHING dairy and of course got oatmilk in his coffee. After the barista took our orders, we walked off to the shop literally down the hall in front of it. Not only did she not call our name (we did give her the name), she did not write anything on the cups about which is whose. So we asked her what order was which and wasn't sure herself and just guessed and shrugged us off because she was busy with something else. When we walked off, feeling confident in her answer, we immediately began to drink our coffee's and noticed the difference right away. My boyfriend got mine and I got his. Which isn't world ending BUT this is very concerning to someone who maybe has an allergy to something and isn't written down on the cups to tell what it is. Maybe someone should implement that and not care about aesthetics (which really wasn't all that anyways at this place), so I recommend staying away from this place because they do not care. I understand that this is not easy work especially since she was the only person running everything but perhaps something for the shop to consider... have a cashier and have a barista. having two people to help could avoid stress on your employees as well as assure no customer is shrugged off for different tasks.
