This place is it. The tucked in the back, hard to find place that is truly everything you wanted and needed it to be. In a time where everything is thrown together and slopped up and overcharged, this is a refreshing change of pace. This place in my mind is authentic, genuine, and homey. Food: home made salsa with so many delicious selections at the salsa bar. Not to mention freshly made tortilla chips too. We got the wet burrito and I got the Michoacan enchiladas and we shared the birria tacos. The enchiladas were so flavorful and tender and everything I expected it to be. I got lengua and al pastor for my choices of meat and it was perfect! She said she burrito was so tender and flavorful as well. And this place was our first place to try the birria tacos and it was amazing! So tender and juicy and paired perfectly with the consume. The service was kind and fast. I could hear the chefs singing in the kitchen, which to me is always a good sign. They also had a huge selection of agua fesca drinks. The ambiance is cute and quaint and just very homey and genuine. This place opened not too long ago, but the quality of food, the pricing of the menu, and the selection of everything really impressed me. This is my Mexican food spot now and I'll won't be going back anywhere else. This place is it. Whether it be for a date, a normal dinner, or just something to satisfy your craving, this place does it all.

Came here to celebrate my birthday with co-workers on a weekday. I had high hopes from the reviews but was generally disappointed. It is like a taqueria where you order at the counter and they bring it out to you. I ordered the Steak Ranchero. It was good but bland and the rice was dry. My boss wanted to just order a single Quesabirria taco, but they said no because it is only sold as a plate of 2 for $12 so we shared. That was just meh. They were not packed or juicy. I've tried a lot of quesabirria and these might be the worst for taste and value. Everyone in our party had the same sentiments on their meals that it was bland and just okay. The best part was that the chips n salsa bar was fresh, place was clean and the service was very friendly. They were pricey for just "okay" so probably will not be back but happy that I tried them out.

I have mixed feelings about this place. Residing in the guts of an old Denny's is a new-ish Mexican restaurant. I have been systematically trying all the Mexican places in West Sac so this place finally came up.I ordered the quesabirria tacos as well as some Al Pastor tacos. The person behind the counter was very nice. I asked what was better, the Al pastor or the chile verde. He said the Al pastor was better so I went with that. The chips and salsa is free here. The regular hot salsa was very tasty. The other hot salsa was like a roasted chile (not chipotle) salsa which was extremely salty so hard to enjoy. The chips were not salted at all ( maybe to compensate for the very salty salsa). The salsa verde was decent enough. The food came out quick but not suspiciously quick. The quesabirra tacos alone were pretty good and flavorful. The consume was on the bland side and not very red; more of a murky brown. After putting all the lime juice in it, it was better but certainly not the best in the Sac area. The Al Pastor tacos......oooof. Not good. Dry and bland. Which is kind of a crazy accomplishment for Al pastor as it should be marinated and juicy. The meat here had almost no color. The fact that the person behind the register (who I think is the owner or manager as he came out to talk to diners, which was a nice touch) recommended it was a let down. Seems this place really relies on its happy hour and micheladas so maybe the food isn't the focus for them. I don't think I'd return.

Lots of parking. Excellent customer service. Perfect decor for a taqueria. Lots of indoor seating. Love the self serve salsa and chip bars. Love that they have a hand washing station not inside the bathroom. The tamales were a decent size and came out hot and fresh (though a little drier than I would have liked). This was our first time here and won't be our last.

Taqueria style, but tastes like home cooking! The staff is friendly and fast, the restaurant is clean and welcoming, and is conveniently located right off 50. Everything we had was freshly made and tasted like they are using family recipes! Definitely give it a try.

We love finding new places to try in West Sac! The location is a former Denny's so there are tons of tables and it looks like it'd be great for large groups. You order at the counter (also great for groups) and they have an expansive menu. We've ordered takeout a couple of times, but this was our first time dining in and we'll definitely be back. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The service was 10/10!So far we've tried their wet burritos, street tacos, quesabirria, burrito bowl, and steak ranchero plate. Nothing has been a disappointment. My favorites have been the al pastor tacos and burrito bowl. They absolutely knock the al pastor out of the park. It's perfect! My husband loves the steak ranchero plate and I'd agree they do a great job on this as well. The quesabirria is nice and crunchy. The order comes with 2 and it's plenty for one person. We've also tried every salsa in their salsa bar each time and liked them all. Heat varies greatly depending on the day, so make sure you try before loading up!Definitely check this place out!

My rating is just for the torta. I thought it was just okay. My kids liked the side of rice. The salsas were okay too. The guys I ordered burritos for thought they were good but on the smaller size.

This place is pretty good for a quick Mexican meal. They have some interesting offerings such as birria with actual goat, fish plate, and shrimp cocktails. So far I had the goat birria and a chicken burrito, and I enjoyed both. The prices are not bad and portions are generous.Complimentary chips and salsa are included. Their salsas are very tasty, the spicy ones are actually spicy. Food comes out super fast so great for lunch.

West Sacramento's newest Mexican eatery! Some might say there's too many but you know what I noticed? They never shut down like other places. That says a lot about what the residents want and enjoy in the area. Came here for a nice lunch with my mother. You order at the front counter and take a number, taqueria style. They give you your drinks and also a small boat and containers for complimentary chips and salsa. Really good chips and salsas. The chips had a great crunch and salted perfectly while each salsa had its own flavor profile from mild to extremely hot lol.The workers here were constantly checking if we needed anything and asked if we liked our food. The answer was YES! They had Spanish music playing in the background as we sat and talked.I went with two crispy tacos combo, asada and pastor as the meats. They left something to be desired but the beans were really good and the rice was my least favorite, it could've been fluffier. My mom went with the two pork tamale combo. These were really good! Masa was tasty and there was a lot of pork in the tamale. We hardly used our forks as we used the tortilla chips to scoop everything up lol.I ended up ordering two quesabirria tacos as well because the table next to me ordered them and they looked delicious. They were full of delicious shredded beef and huge. The consomé was so flavorful. Those two tacos alone were $12. Prices here were reasonable. Def plan to go back and try their mariscos menu and also a wet burrito.
