Mexican Deli

If you're driving through Lincoln along Lincoln Blvd, make a right on Fifth St., right over the railroad tracks, if you look to your left, you will find the Mexican Deli. don't blink, because you just might miss it. It's a hole in the wall with great food and service. This is the first Mexican restaurant I've eaten at in Lincoln. Just like opinions, everyone has their favorite Mexican restaurant. Mexican Deli delivers authentic Mexican favorites. Hands down, their chimichanga has got to be the Best in town. It is packed with meat and cheese and not fatty meat, which some places add or a lot of rice and beans fill it up. Matter of fact, Mexican Deli is the first place we ate a chimichanga at. So this review is 20 years over due. One of the schools I use to work at would get food catered from here and it is so good! They have the best rice and beans too. Yes I'm picky when it comes to frijoles and rice. No complaints here, it is always perfect. Lincoln has a handful of Mexican eateries and everyone has their favorite and this is mine.

The food always tastes great, however, I found half of a toothpick inside my chimichanga recently, so I'm gonna have to recommend going to Taqueria Gonzalez instead.

Me and my grandma always come here. The workers are awesome sauce. However, the wait time is kinda long. But we don't care too much because we love their food too much. frogThey have the best menudo, best enchiladas, best beans, best cheese, best hot sauce, best salsa, best everything. This place is the goat. I recommend 100000000%

This restaurant serves my favorite shredded beef crispy tacos in Lincoln! They also have excellent rice, beans, burritos, chile rellenos, chips and salsas. They have two restaurant style salsas-both of which are fantastic in my opinion. Service was friendly and efficient and the bathrooms were clean.

What a basic name for a restaurant, Mexican Deli. In reality I've known another restaurant elsewhere by the same name.This place is extremely basic and a bit of a 'hole on the wall'. You can easily miss it tucked way back off the street with a nondescript parking lot out front, and not much advertisement signage.It looks a bit like a uncared for Victorian cottage with a storefront from the street.Yet, the place is seemingly popular and busy, even mid-day, and very inexpensive. We got some small, mid-sized burritos, Chile Colorado, and they were delicious for a quick snack. The meat was tender and tasty, the tortilla very fresh and delicious. It came with a small container of spicy red sauce.I'll be back to try more things, including a super burrito.Albeit it a bit of a put off in initial appearance, I think they excel with the food offerings, at a very good price.

I got a carne Asada, Super burrito and it was fantastic! The ladies were courteous and the service was fairly quick. Excellent food and excellent service.

Ever since the old owners left it's gone downhill with the new owners cooking. Everything tastes horrible. The only thing that is still good, but different is the crispy tacos. Customer service is missing. They are rude.

The time I went to try them was just after their lunch rush. They took my order fast and they were pleasant. The lady who took my order left, and didn't turn my order in after I paid. I waited for 40 minutes no one said anything. So after explaining what must have happened and I already paid. They brought my order to me. Pork Machaca, poorly spiced, didn't impress. Because of the misunderstanding I'll give them another chance.

I was waiting for My food after ordering. Realized they cooked My enchiladas in the microwave in a styrofoam container. Styrofoam has been proven to be a carcinogen. It will leach into your food. I could not believe what I was seeing. All these years I've been eating these not realizing how they were being cooked. Styrene has been proven to cause cancer. Do not eat here until they change their ways.
