I would give him a tip of one of the 5 points of a star-but not the top tip, maybe one of the two bottom tips of one of the star (he at least picked up the phone so that warrants something).It's was 9:25am and I call this place to see if they have cachaça, a Brazilian rum. I haven't been able to find it in any grocery store. I'd even called around to a few liquor stores such as this one in the past looking for it and they hadn't even heard of it. Many bars don't even carry it. I do know that the big beverage stores such as Bev Mo and Total Wine carry it, but I was looking for somewhere me, something convenient that I can stop by and grab when in a time crunch. So imagine my surprise when the response I received was "ya we carry it". He answered so quickly, with no hesitation, which immediately led me to believe that he would have said 'yes' to any thing I asked just to get me off the phone. You know those times when you ask your child if he brushed his teeth (and you know damn well he didn't) and his answer was given so quickly you knew he was laying through those stanky, little, unbrushed teeth of his? That's what I got from this guy. To make sure he was telling me the truth I followed up with, "what brands do you carry?" His response:"I don't know. You can come in and look for yourself...(pause) at the type we carry. I am with a customer. I cannot do it ri.....". Rather than: "I am currently with a customer, there is one behind him, if you don't mind waiting I'll be more than happy to check for you." Or "I have a few customers, how about I take your number and I'll call you back"Ok dude, your stores isn't THAT big that you'd have to bend over backwards to get a customer that information!Needless to say I hung up on him vowing NEVER to step foot in his establishment. Thank you for those that are persuaded to do the same after reading this.He was straight-up rude.

As a liquor store overall, I'd give them four stars. But after the efforts I had to make to get a reimbursement for a beer tap I rented I'm docking three. I rented a beer tap for a party. The plus was that they were one of the few liquor stores that has beer taps for rent without a requirement to also get a keg. The guy behind the counter was nice enough and told me it was $6 plus a $50 deposit. I returned it the next day, as required, and was told by another gentleman that the deposit would be refunded immediately. Three days later it still was not and I drove ten minutes and came in again after no one answered the phone. The second gentleman told me he needed to talk to the first gentleman because something was wrong and he couldn't figure it out. At this point, I'm upset. I didn't hear back after this second trip even though I was told I would immediately. I went back in - again. Now the first gentleman was back and, after about a ten minute phone call with whoever runs his credit card machine, I got the money back. He apologized, but the damage was done. It's fine if you don't know what you're doing in granting a refund, but the lack of follow up to any of my visits when they specifically told me they would call me was inexcusable. I'll use them for buying odds and ends, sure, but not for renting anything ever again.

i agree with a previous review that this is probably the worst liquor store in Sacramento. I grew up in this neighborhood, and they really dont fit the community. The place reeks with foul smelling odors (And I dont mean just incense), and it looks like cockroach city. I mean the health department should take a look at this place. I have purchased milk, that was spoiled about a week before the expiration date. It looks like a father and son team that own the place, and the father seems like a decent sort of guy, the son acts like he is mad that he was ever born. I really dont know where these guys came from, but they really should exit East Sac.Even the cockroaches would probably be happy.
