This is the new(ish) front of the MU.
Equality may have backfired.
How to get by without a printer.
A little frightened by the number of folks gathered.
This study "room" used to be enclosed in glass. Now it's all open concept because that's en vogue.

My experience with the coordinator, Ferguson, at the Gaming Center was terrible. He was rude, condescending, and very unprofessional. I suggest y'all reconsider who you place in a role of authority, because he possesses absolutely no interpersonal skills. It's too bad, because this is such a great place for students to come and relax.

Located almost in the middle of the UCD campus, Its busy almost to busy, Students, Teachers and more all come here to hang out and have fun. Theres a coffee shop that serves decent coffee and sweets, There is also a Pizza Cafe, You can get 2 pieces of pizza and a soda for $6. Not a bad deal if you ask me. There is also a food cafeteria style area where you can get Sushi, Tex-Mex and Sandwiches. Seating is hard to get inside but out side it much easier to find seats. I would say this spot is one of the best places to people watch.

This review is for the MU games area. As a poor student, this place is amazing when you want to relax and bowl, play pool or play some video games. I can't think of another place that will allow you to bowl for under $3. Shoe rentals here are only $1 and games are $1.75-$2 depending on time. There's also an option to rent a lane for an hour for only $8. That deal is awesome if you have a group of 3-4 people. Even for non-students, prices are not even a dollar more.I don't play pool all that often but I believe it's ~$4 for an hour of play and even cheaper if you buy the discount card. The place is well kept. All the lanes are nice and oiled up, the games were all working every time I go, and the billiards room is always clean. The staff here are students, and they're super friendly.I definitely recommend this place to both students and anyone visiting the Davis campus. Lots of fun for cheap!

The MU freakin rocks my socks. It has everything. The bookstore, the arcade, the bowling alley, the coffee house, WiFi access, a study room, and a post office. It does get a little frustating when the place is packed, usually around the beginning and ending of the quarter. However, the places is still great. The bookstore has tons of stuff. Although it may be a little pricey, it's always fun to make a quick shop aorund. The arcade is super fun. Not that many games, but it's still an arcade nonetheless. Oh, they have that one game where you hit the crocodiles with a foam hammer! The bowley alley rocks. Students get discounts and it's usually clean. The MU is just a great place to bring visiting friends to check out the campus. I mean, there isn't much to check out anyways.

As somebody who's not a student from Davis, I had the hardest time ever finding the MU. Not only was finding the place hard, but finding parking was just as bad if not worse. Came here with a large group of friends for bowling and the place is pretty nice. I wasn't in charge or organizing the event, but I heard that as a group, on that particular day, we could bowl at a discounted rate. Definitely much cleaner than Albany Bowl, where most Berkeley students go. I'm so surprised such a place exists on campus. In addition to the bowling lanes, the MU also has an arcade area. Definitely nostalgic~I don't bowl for a hobby so I can't really say much about how the bowling service was, but overall, I liked the atmosphere of the MU and would definitely come here again if I'm in the area and looking for something to do.

This review is for the MU Games area. A female employee with long red hair was extremely rude to my group when we were there. When we entered, she was laying on the floor behind the desk, barefoot. When we were having trouble with our bowling game, she yelled directions over to us rather than coming down to help us. We tried to let all this go until she played a musical full blast over the loud speakers while watching on an iPad as we tried to play pool, and when we asked her to turn it off or at least down because we didn't like it, she said "you don't have to like it," and went back to watching. Suffice to say we didn't have a fun time and left shortly after.

I am writing based on my experience with the new MU bowling alley and its new pricing structure. I have never written a review (positive or negative) about an establishment before, but feel very compelled to do so in this instance.Just as a background, I have been a graduate student at UC Davis for about five years and used the bowling alley before it was closed down for renovation. As a student, the prices to bowl before the bowling alley at the MU was shut down were extremely reasonable. I used to go 2-3 times per month with a group of friends for an affordable night out. For all the new students who weren't at UCD before the bowling alley closed, THEY EFFECTIVELY INCREASED THE PRICETO BOWL 50-100% for students! Now admittedly, I don't remember the exact prices from before the renovation. They used to have student and non-student prices, plus the price got a little more expensive after 8pm. I encourage someone to fact check me just in case I am off a little bit on my numbers.Pre-renovation, student price, before 8pm. Shoes - $1Game per person - $2.50 - 3$Rent lane for hour - $12 - $15I went to the bowling alley today because I was super excited to bowl again. I was shocked to see what they were charging now.Post-renovation, student priceShoes - $2 (100% increase)Game per person - $5 (at least a 66% increase)Rent lane for hour - $25 (at least a 66% increase)I totally expected prices to be more expensive than they were 2 years ago, but what they are charging is ridiculous! For non-students the prices are even more outrageous. What non-student would reasonable pay $4 to rent shoes and $8 per game when you can go to the lanes Woodland and pay $1 and $4, respectively (and they serve food and drinks)!?They did get new balls and new shoes for the alley, but I personally saw that they threw perfectly good balls into the dumpsters next to the MU when they closed! I don't know what they did with the shoes but I can't imagine they did any different. The ball returns and stations are exactly the same as they used to be.I'd appreciate an open dialogue about how and why these increases are justified and look forward to a response from someone who can affect change and/or is more informed then I am about the renovation process. I may be wrong about this, but I am under the assumption that the majority of the funding to renovate the MU came from student fees, which were probably increased to help pay for the renovations. If this is the case, how can this huge price increase be defended? I used to look forward to being able to have an affordable place to bowl on campus, but am very saddened by the new pricing structure. I don't plan to bowl at the MU anymore unless the prices are reduced or I am satisfied with the explanation as to why a 66% is justified. I personally plan to determine and contact the appropriate administrators to discuss my dissatisfaction. I encourage newer UCD students to question this increase at the very least and voicing your opinion and consider boycotting the bowling alley unless prices are reduced.Sincerely,Andrew Burch

This review is for the MU Bowling Alley!! WOW. What a great hangout spot for Davis students. The prices are incredibly affordable (I usually do 2 games + shoe rental for only $5!!!). Even if you're not a student here, they still offer excellent deals. There are many lanes and it's maintained well. They have a variety of bowling ball sizes, from light to heavy! They also have pool tables and arcade games. I personally enjoy playing a few rounds of the Zombie shooting game afterwards (LOL, forgot the name). It may not be as large-scale as other bowling alleys, but taking into account how many "fun activities" there are to actually do in Davis, it's probably one of the better things around! THEY OPEN UNTIL LATE HOURS TOO! Customer service is friendly :) Expect it to get busier during nights and especially weekends! Some days it could be closed for special events, so make sure to check the times on their website first!
