The best katsu sando in town! Went in on a Wednesday afternoon. This shop is definitely worth the hype. Their service was superb, informing customers how long their order would take since the katsu is fried per order. I appreciated the information .The sando includes the lightly fried katsu, a slaw, and egg salad. It marks all the boxes for the different textures and I enjoyed that it wasn't soggy which is my ultimate pet peeve. They have a few small tables outside but definitely a to-go place. Not a place for a large crowd but would be good to do a big order for a larger group. They share the same bldg as Osaka-ya. Can't wait to go back to get the sandwich and try other items.

The housemade chili crisp (rightfully titled as "chili crack") is the MVP here. Insanely flavorful and gives the J-Town hot chicken sandwich the popularity that it has. Tempted to buy a jar of it if I come back lol.Crispy and succulent chicken katsu in the sandwich. Wasn't really on board with the egg salad layer; a bit curdled in texture. After trying the egg salad sando I found out that the egg salad itself was also kinda bland. Not my fave rendition of egg salad sandwich filling. The shokupan bread on both sandwiches was sadly leaning towards the stale side. Honestly my re-visit order would be a chicken 'n a bag, which is essentially a chicken katsu slab piece, and a jar of chili crack to drizzle some of that condiment on the katsu (and use the rest for home cooking) lol. Can't forget about dessert! MM cookie. Couldn't taste black sesame over all of the sweetness but if you're into rich salted choco chip cookies with amazing fresh-out-of-the-oven crispy edges and a chewy center this cookie is a must-try.Very kind gentleman at the pickup counter. Order online ahead of time for optimal convenience (https://order.toasttab.com/online/mecha-mucho). Primarily a grab-and-go establishment with a few outdoor tables.Parking is pretty sparse in the area but not impossible; may need to walk a block or two from where you would find a street parking spot.

One word: overhypedI got their chicken katsu sando to try since it was all advertised on IG and Yelp's high review. The sandwich took more than 20 minutes while there was only one person before us. It was suggested to order from their site. The sandwich it self is good nothing particular amazing. The chicken was good, savory and a little crunchy but the whole sandwich as a whole was just ok. Maybe it's their milk bread or maybe they are missing a flavor. And for the sandwich was $15 and about almost $17 with tax. It's good to try it if you haven't try a katsu dando but there are place that has this sandwich for just $9.

Stopped by with my husband and was able to get some goodies. The guy behind the counter was super helpful and recommended some yummy options. He also informed us they do breakfast pop ups and we'll have to come back and try them out!

King of Sandwiches! The egg sandwich, Wagyu beef sandwich, and Much-O-Fish has been outstanding. I personally used to love the McDonald's Fillet-O-Fish, but this is a step above. Everything is upgraded from the brioche bun, homemade tartar sauce to the big fish skirt. This really made my Friday, so don't sleep on this sandwich whenever you see it on the menu. This was a real treat. The katsudon was delicious as well. The pieces of chicken was thick and juicy paired with the carmelized onions and egg, on top of perfectly cooked short grain rice. I ordered online and picked up at the Osaka-ya window, very fast and convenient. There are tables outside to enjoy your food too but I decided to wait until I got home. Highly recommend if you haven't been yet.

So sad shaved ice is gone but hey Mecha Mucho is a worthy substitute. The sandos are creative and a delicious change of pace. Looking forward to trying more of the menu. Lunch is a little hectic order ahead to save time.

The restaurant is open only 3 hours out of the day and there is no indoor seating. It is just a small window located inside of Osaka-ya. I ordered the miso cookie and the Jtown hot chicken. The sandwich was enough to feed two people. It was very large and filling. The ingredients were pretty fresh and flavorful. The miso cookie was chewy and crisp with a light sprinkle salt. A perfect pairing of sweet and salty. The guy at the register was prompt and there is plenty of reminders to order online if you don't want to wait in line. I wanted to try the fruit sando but unfortunately they were out. I would definitely stop by to try it when they are back in stock.

I'm so glad I stumbled upon this hidden Japanese gem, Mecha Mucho! It's a casual spot with a walk-up window for ordering, and a grocery store attached where you can grab food either outside or inside. Located on 10th Street, my boyfriend and I were eager to try the sandos, so we ended up ordering three different kinds: the egg salad, Spam musubi, and chicken katsu. The sandos were great! The bread was perfectly soft, and the flavors were spot on. Surprisingly, the egg salad was my favorite -- it had a slight sweetness that was really unexpected. The chicken katsu sando was a close second, thanks to the deliciously sweet tonkatsu sauce and crunchy slaw. The Spam sando also hit the mark with its great slaw.Service was quick and efficient. I ordered from the window and, since there wasn't a line, the guy at the counter took my order right away. I only waited about less than 10 minutes before the sandwiches were ready. The vibe here is super chill, like a laid-back local Japanese spot. I can totally see this place becoming a hit as more people discover it.I'll definitely be back to try the JTown hot chicken sando and grab some fresh mochi from the grocery store inside!

Yummm! Placed my order the night before for an 11:30 pick up, they were right on time! I had to try the Friday Mucho Fish Sando, it was perfectly fried and perfectly seasoned with pickled cabbage, pickled cucumbers and an amazing tarter sauce. There was a crunch with every bite! Loved it! I was also able to taste the J-Town Hot Chicken Sando, not overly spicy with a good portion of chicken. I would say the J-Town Sando was a little messy to eat, the bread fell apart from the sauce and fillings. The chicken was definitely good enough to eat separately! Give this place a try if you're in the old J-town neighborhood of Sacramento. Portions are big enough to share.
