I've heard about and have been eagerly anticipating this place to open for some time. It's open and I was in the neighborhood (Ikeda's) so I dropped by for an afternoon snack. It's located in a somewhat out of the way location, which has its pros and cons as you might imagine. It's an effective remodel of the old Sizzler restaurant. There's a decent amount of parking, but the parking has multiple levels (terraced) so it complicates things a little bit. Unlike urban venue locations, this one has a nice scenic view. They weren't busy at all when I got there... mid-afternoon on a weekday definitely wouldn't expected to be peak hours by any stretch of the imagination. The large open space seemed empty, unsurprisingly, but I liked the layout and could easily imagine it being packed during a major sports event. They have a couple pool tables in a separate room and to be honest, I was a little disappointed in the layout and number of tables. It seems like the space could have been used better. Missed opportunity. I hope that doesn't come across too harshly? But one of the reasons I wanted to take a peek at this place was to see if it'd be a good place for pool league to play and what saw didn't make me scream "yes! yes! yes!" It's OK, just not great is all.Service was great - staff super friendly! I had a drink... a berry cider and a grilled artichoke as a snack. The artichoke was great! I actually learned something about how to cook and present these babies! Up until this point, I've lived my life cooking them like my mom cooked them - steamed. Where was this all my life!? Good dip too - a chipotle mayo or something like that. Define thumbs up there and thanks for the schooling on how to cook these things.I definitely plan to come back some time... hopefully to meet up with some friends who live in the area.

I'm giving it 3 stars because the food was good and the wait-staff pleasant and friendly. But there is no ambiance. I realize it is a sports bar but it feels more like a high school cafeteria. Crowded, noisy - have to shout to be heard. Wide-open floor plan. Nothing to absorb the sound. Small tables crowded together. Beautiful views, but can't see them from most tables. Lots of tv's (are they all supposed to be tuned to the same game at the same time..6 or 8 side by side?)Food is expensive for what you get but the waffle fries are tasty. Not where I want to spend my money but hey - if you want raucous, beer and sports - this is the place to go.

We have seen so many good comments on local Facebook pages, and we know that these people own Tin Lantern in Meadow Vista, so we were really looking forward to trying this place. One word: underwhelming. My husband and I each ordered burgers. He can't remember the name of his, but mine was the mushroom bacon Swiss. Both burgers had small, thin, dry patties and the toppings were very skimpy. It seemed like the meat was high quality at least. For $17 for a burger and fries, you kind of expect the toppings to be spilling out and the meat nice and juicy. Not the case. The waffle cut fries looked great, and the portion was huge. Unfortunately they were barely warm and not crispy, kind of limp. We were going to say something to the server, but she was nowhere to be found the entire time we were there. We took most of the fries home. When the server brought our bill, we told her about the fries. She said "you should have told me sooner, I could have gotten you fresh ones". That doesn't really work that well either, because by then, the burgers would have been cold. All in all, there are so many places in Auburn that are much better, there's no reason to return.

I've been driving past this place since May, eagerly waiting for it to open, and I'm so happy to say it was worth the wait! Located close to I-80, it's a large bar and grill with plenty of screens to catch the games, pool tables, and beautiful views--no complaints here! We got to try this place out on opening day, and it didn't disappoint. The customer service was on point! We had the Korean-flavored wings and a NorCal burger. The bun was so fluffy, and the meat was perfectly seasoned; all burgers are cooked medium-well. I also had a guava margarita made with in-house juice and syrups shout out to the amazing bartender Colleen. I can't wait to be back!

McGuire's SB&G.Wonderful staff, courteous and professional; food and cocktails were excellent; service was great; and the ambiance was very sporty. Over 20 very big screen TVs, pool tables, darts and an outside patio with the Sierra Nevada Mountians in view. Fun! Live music soon coming.Looking forward to more good times ahead!

We have been waiting for McQuires to open for some time. Expectations were high given the owners also own Tin Lantern one of our favorites. Parking lot was packed but we got seated right away. The remodel of the old Sizzler was very nicely done. The patio will be nice this summer. Service was very fast and efficient. They aren't lacking for staff. Nice to find an old Rasputin stout on the menu. The calamari portion was very large but the calamari was not that great. Rubbery and most likely previously frozen. No tentacles I love the tentacles. I had the mushroom bacon Swiss burger. It's a smash burger two patties with a sauce on it. Patties were very dry the overall flavor was underwhelming. Wife said the portobello was ok though she did like the side of veggies. Nice atmosphere, it would be a fun place to watch a game with friends but the menu needs some work.

We stopped in for dinner last night and we're impressed. This was the first time we had noticed that the parking lot was not completely full. The food is typical bar food which was good quality. We did not have any cocktails. We split a wedge salad and a French dip sandwich and ordered fried zucchini as an appetizer. The food was promptly and hot. When the bill came, we were somewhat disappointed to see a $4 extra charge to split a $9 salad. We will go back and try it again soon.

Giving 3 stars cause the food was pretty good, we've been a few times. But each time the service is just not good. The servers we had tried their best, but just slow, no ability to multitask, no knowledge on the beers, brought out incorrect things. I think they need some more training on just basic serving skills (I was a server for years so I know when the bare minimum isn't even met), and definitely more menu training!
