Mathnesium offers a very focused tutoring approach. My daughter, who is in high school, was having a lot of trouble with algebra 2, and she received a lot of one-on-one attention from the folks at Mathnesium. When we started, my daughter was given a very thorough initial evaluation to identify areas of weakness and learning gaps. Mathnesium helped her to strengthen these weaknesses, in addition to helping with her current homework assignments.Although not the cheapest solution in town, Mathnesium is a great solution for a child who is having difficulty in math. The program is very well organized, and the tutors seem to really care about the kids that they're helping.

Great opportunity for reasonable math support for all ages. I'm a teacher and wanted to check it out before recommending to families. Love that it isn't just about teaching procedures-but actually helping people "understand" mathematical concepts.Hoping that there is a summer option for Algebra review/Alg 2 prep.

Mathnasium has helped my son tremendously. I tried other tutoring centers and this one by far is the best tutoring center ever! I love that Mathnasium tutors provide one on one homework help and his Math grade has went from an F to a B in less than a month. I would recommend this center to anyone.

Horrible service ! No one wants to pick up the phone regardless of hundreds of messages I left for them to call me back. I wanted to enroll my kids but looks like no one will answer or return phone calls.

Instructors are great, the woman in charge, Heather, not so much. Very rude and dismissive. Business has been closed due to COVID-19 and no services have been provided for the last half of March. Refuses to refund payments. Is putting the responsibility of her payroll and rent expenses on the customer, when she did not budget correctly to run her business. It's one thing to charge someone and give them attitude when they receive the service, but to charge them, give them attitude and not provide the service is beyond frustrating. Not to mention the times when the kid got turned away because there wasn't a space for them even though we had scheduled the appointment online and received confirmations.I would definitely not sign up for this service again.

While I had minor complaints regarding teaching my main complaint is about dishonest business practices. Service is pre-paid, yet when your kid misses a class, which can happen, and you don't have the opportunity to cancel (that can happen too) you get charged $25 for a missed class. Considering that this was already paid for, I find it dishonest to charge double price for a lesson that did not take place. As such, my recommendation to all of you, hard working parents, is to object to this unfair practice when you sign a contract. Or just go somewhere else...Furtermore, teaching is provided by dedicated college students, therefore the owner is irrelevant. I believe in honesty and fairness. There is no reason to support a business that is corrupt.

Mathnasium and their awesome tutors just helped my daughter through Math 3 in the EGUSD! If you have high school aged kids in this district then you probably already know what an amazing feat this is! :) The tutors were wonderful and patient and even did research on the side to best help her. Heather, the owner, was AMAZING. Easy to work with and very flexible to our daughter's ever-changing schedule. I can't even begin to tell you how proud my daughter is of herself for putting in the work, reaching out for help (which is so hard for kids!), and passing with a "B" for both terms. We are so proud of her and so very thankful for Mathnasium and all they do to help kids succeed.

I thought we were going to love Mathnasium Elk Grove. Our high school student needed help in math. After we got past the un-enthused gentleman that answers the phone (sounding like a bored teenager) I was impressed with their very thorough evaluation and testing process. I was very anxious to get the ball rolling so I emailed Heather (1) but she never responded. I then waited for our review of the evaluation and talked pricing. I thought the monthly/qty/annual price was ok, but the one time service fee (100) and the office supply fee (98) was steep. Right out of the gate, we are $200 out of pocket and that includes 0.00 toward tutoring. (I could provide my own binder, ream of paper and label much cheaper?) After that, I called to see if I could bring my son in to start as we were heading into finals in a couple of weeks. Heather wasn't available, so I left a message for her to call me (2). She had an emergency so she couldn't call that day.... or the next... or the next... or the next. Pretty much, she never called me back and a week went by therefore we couldn't start tutoring. Her assistant Jessica called to do a post evaluation follow up (as if I'd never reached out?) to begin a plan. When I returned her call, she was not available (3). I then called Heather one last time (4) out of sheer desperation... and nothing. At that point I was extremely frustrated, helpless and very upset. I realized that whether we signed up or not, it was no sweat off their back. They are obviously not going to go out of business if we don't join... but for me, we desperately needed the help and they were just simply not responsive. I have the utmost respect for teachers. I don't think they get enough credit for their job and service to our kids. I did not get the impression that the kids come first here.

My daughter is now in 6th grade and has been going to Mathnasium since she was in 3rd (3rd in Roseville, 4th-6th in Elk Grove). I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for what Mathnasium has done for my daughter. She has received an A in math on every single report card. I first enrolled her because I was having trouble helping her with her homework. Although she would get the answer correctly, how she arrived at her answers is what she was getting wrong. I was showing her the way I learned how to solve the problem which is completely different than the way they are taught in class. My daughter enjoys going and in her own words, she loves Mathnasium because "they make me feel more confident when I take my math tests and they help me until I understand how to do the problem, even if we have to go over it several times".Heather and her team have been great and I would highly recommend trying them out if you have a child struggling with math.
