Martins Famous Street Tacos

My continuous search for the best street tacos in the Sacramento area has ended after my first visit to Martin's (pronounced "Mar-teens") Famous Street Tacos.At only a few bucks per taco, you just can't get a better deal especially if you are the type who can put down five or six street tacos. Most importantly, they make their corn tortillas from fresh Masa!!!I went with thr "TJ" style tacos with a variety of different meats and one fish taco. All of them were authentic and incredible. They also have a salsa bar with a fairly wide arrangement of mild to hot salsas along with freshly grilled Jalapeños and a special Asian/mexican fusion salsa that was spicy and amazing.Notably, they do have a rather odd location as they are in an office complex but they also have a large dining room and an outdoor dining patio that is extremely family friendly and safe thanks to the lack of other retail establishments in the complex. I think their rent is probably much less than a retail strip mall because of its unusual location as the prices are incredibly low by comparison with other street taco options in the area.Please give Martin's Famous Street Tacos a try...you will be glad you did.

Order: California Super BurritoThe service was fantastic--super friendly and welcoming staff all around. After ordering, I noticed the salsa bar immediately to the right and grabbed a few to try. The vibe is quick and casual; you order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. Even though it was busy, my order was ready in about 8 minutes, which was perfectly reasonable. The burrito itself was solid. The carne asada was cooked well--leaning a bit salty, but I didn't mind. The fries, however, didn't add much and felt a little underwhelming. I was initially caught off guard by the rice being included, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It was a thin layer with a bit of unexpected crunch. Normally, I'd prefer either rice or fries in a California burrito, not both, but this combination worked surprisingly well for me. As for the salsa, the chipotle salsa was the standout. Smoky, flavorful, and with just the right amount of heat--though I wouldn't have minded if it were a little spicier. It truly elevated the meal and was my favorite part. The price was very reasonable--around $12 for the burrito. Overall, I'd rate the burrito a 7.1/10. It's good, and I'd recommend it if someone was in the area. That said, since I'm not local, I'd probably try a few other spots before calling this my go-to for a burrito.

Not great. Tacos were cold and we waited for 20 minutes as we watched them fill to go orders. We were sitting right there. Why not post a sign that says we fill to go orders first before customers that choose to drive and order in person? They are indeed fortunate, there is not much to choose from in Old River.

Recently tried this place on a whim. I wasn't expecting much since I hadn't heard about it but was impressed with its reviews. Like another yelper said, this is a "hidden treasure" for sure.The atmosphere and decor was awesome. There were games for kids, tons of space inside and outside the restaurant, plenty of seating, great music! And the staff was super nice and friendly. Definitely look forward to coming back during cooler weather for some dining al fresco.As for the food, the servings were pretty large. Ordered a few different tacos, quesadilla, beans, and rice, chips and guacamole. I was a little disappointed in the salsas, they just weren't as flavorful as I hoped (but I'm fairly picky!). And the guacamole was not great. Tasted like the runny store bought kind that comes in the plastic container. Definitely was NOT fresh. However, the tacos themselves were delicious and made up for the guac and salsas. Hopefully it was one-off for those other items. I'm happy to return to find out!

Had to go back to Martins on a Friday to try their fish tacos. Yeah buddy! Got the battered Baja style fish tacos and the carne asada tacos again. So good. Just 4 tacos and I was actually pretty full.

I was around the area and was craving some Mexican food. I looked to Yelp and stumbled upon Martins Famous Street Tacos. I drove to this place and was a bit thrown off at first. It's located in a like a business plaza, but parking was easy so that's a plus. I was one of the first people in there this morning. There are plenty of tables and seats. There is even a patio for outdoor seating. The gentlemen at the front was very helpful and friendly. So... since this place has "Famous Street Taco" in the name, what do you think I ordered?? Yup, a burrito! Haha. And I'm glad I did. I decided to go with their Surf & Turf burrito. I chose fish as my surf and it was very good and big! The ingredients inside tasted all very fresh. The fish and the asada was so good and complimented each other. Next time I'm around the area, I'm definitely stopping by, and will try their tacos next time. I wonder if they have a Taco Tuesday deal. I'll update when I come on a Tuesday someday.

First off. Service was great. Staff was nice. The food overall was great Note. I did not get any sauce. I recommend getting sauce. Fish taco - I think it needs a thicker batter or just a crisp. I'm missing that crisp when you bite into it. Light flavor. I'll pass on this next time. Shrimp taco - same thing as fish. Light flavor I'll pass on this. I got 3 tacos with flour. Recommended by staffCarnitas Tijuana taco - it was a bit dry. Flavorful up top only. Asada Tijuana taco - it was good. Flavorful. Al pastor - this was good. Quesabirria and consume - this was amazing. Piping hot. Delicious and flavorful. I'll get this one again. Heck. Maybe I'd rather just get the consume with meat in it.

This place is delicious!! I definitely would come back. They have excellent customer service. The seating inside is very open, which is a plus. We ordered their quesabirria tacos and they were delicious! Meaty and cheesey which I love! The only negative was the consome. I just wish it was in a slightly bigger container for dipping purposes. Their chips and salsa were delicious! Will definitely come back to try other menu items.

We found this family run restaurant because of yelp and we are so grateful. This place is in an office building off of Coloma, kind of hidden. There is plenty of free parking in front. There are some tables outside and a large inside dining room where they play Spanish music. The decor is fun and colorful. The family runs this place and know their menu, they are very proud of their choices. Get the chips here! They make their own and are so fresh. I love the 50/50 which is half corn and half flour, oh so yummy!They have taco Tuesdays, Burris Thursdays and Baja Fridays so try their different menus on those days. Pozole and Menudo are served everyday. The food is fresh and flavorful. The keto tacos are my favorite. The churros are also yummy if in the mood for dessert but I rarely have room after the delicious food.

Amazing food! We usually drive to South Sac for tacos, we'll be coming here from now on! We ordered a ton of tacos to try everything. We had carnitas, asada, chorizo, and al pastor. They were all delicious, but my husband's favorite was the pastor. The staff was so kind, and the inside is SO clean and beautiful!! So many tables, and lots of windows to look out of. 10/10.
