Maria's Mexican Tacos

Some of the best Carnitas I've experienced. Perfect light crunch and tender. Diced up into small pieces. Not overly grease.Vector for the Carnitas was a regular burrito. Outstanding. Not an SF mission type. More like a traditional lunch burrito from decades ago. So good. Fair Warning - they add lettuce. Multiple taps of good brews available. Reasonable prices and excellent service.

Stopped here for a quick bite while charging Tesla. Ordered two shrimp and two veggie tacos. They were simple and delicious. Shrimp was well cooked. Service was fast. We also took guac and chips to go. I think chips were stale but guac was good. Will definitely stop for tacos on our way to Reno next time.

All around 10/10 spot! The location is beautiful and ample amount of space. The food is delicious (got a burrito) and the salsa verde...AMAZING. It's spicy but it has depth unlike salsas I get from other spots. It's worth the burn. The real reason for my rating is the customer service. The man and woman had a very welcoming energy that could make a traveling outsider like me feel at home! I won't eat anywhere else in Auburn next time I pass through.

Great good time and time again. Always try the specials suggested to you when you go up to order, haven't been steered wrong yet. Food is fresh and tastes great!

We were staying in Auburn just down the street from this Mexican Cafe. We saw the sign and the big building so decided to stop in and eat dinner. We were a bit shocked when we found that it was a hole-in-the-wall spot and more for take out. No service as you walk up to a chalkboard inside and order and there are very few tables inside. Usually I run for the hills when I find a dirty restroom but since we had out dog we decided to sit outside in the patio. I did like that the patio was covered from the heat and they had sprayer with droplets of water to keep it cool. Once inside, it was very confusing. You walk up to the cashier and make your order, but the menu on the wall is hard to read and it seemed everything is al-a-carte. They do advertise that you get free chips and salsa but they don't offer much as the little basket was half full. And the salsa is super hot so take care with the kids. We got a Super Burrito ($16) with nothing else on the plate. And two tacos and extra side of beans for $11. Not a lot to eat for an almost $40 bill after the drinks and extra salsas. The food was okay but not great. Next time we will go to a regular Mexican Restaurant and get a plate full.

It been over a year now since we are staying in auburn for the moment. This place always gave our appetites a full meal. Service was very wonderful I called ahead to see if they have any cause normally we stop by they always ran out the lovely clerk very nice I love her smile and she knew exactly it was was on that called in for the porky tacos. Inside was still nice and clean outside seating was perfect for the heat weather. We will always return again in future no other authentic Mexican restaurant then this place will win over negativity.

Yes I love their tacos. The salmon and the pork belly are delicious. Their shrimp enchiladas are also sooo good.Only thing was the restaurant hadn't had time to clean tables off and so the tables were a little dingy.

Maria's is such a delight! The last time I was here was roughly 10 years ago and I thought I had been romanticizing the past, but it was as good as I remember! The tamales was perfect, the masa was done to perfection! The flavor was balanced and authentic! The sope was delicious as well! And is still my favorite dish there! The Guacamole is worth the price! It's so delicious and priced below the competition! Granted I live in the Bay Area so the prices are well below what I'm accustomed to, but even compared to local menus the value is amazing! The restaurant is always clean and welcoming with nice music and a great ambiance. I've always loved the service, but Maria remembers me from high school and always greats me with a hug, however I cannot imagine someone having a bad experience unless they created it themselves, when two people came in that appeared to have a life more difficult than my own came in to use the facilities Maria not only treated them with dignity and respect, but also offered them food and a table. My love for this restaurant and the wonderful owner was definitely reinforced today after a long decade of not being in auburn to eat here!

Really delicious! They were super accommodating to my vegetarian family and gave us some AMAZING and authentic burritos including super tasty salsa, whole pinto beans, lettuce, rice, jalepenos (which we added), fresh cilantro.... Mmmm! :) Plus Maria herself gave us our food and she is absolutely sweet and adorable!
