So I have a bit of weakness for Mexican wedding cookies and Maria's are top notch; crumbly, buttery, a tad nutty, totally smothered in powdered sugar, and they come in a variety of fun colors which I found rather marvelous. I also tried some chocolate cookies which tasted like they contained cayenne- yum!- and a pistachio flavored confection with multiple creamy layers. Everything was delicious but it also *looked* lovely- this baker is clearly an artist as well!

I came across Maria's cookies at today's yelp event. I tried the Mexican cookies and the spicy cholate cookie. The thing that stood out the most for me was the fact that her Mexican cookies came in different colors which I've never seen that, usually it's always the traditional dough like color with white powder.Once I got over the wow effect of the different colors I tried one and they were as good as they looked, soft and very rich. Anyways yes the Mexican cookies were good however the thing that stood out the most was the spicy chocolate cookie, first of all I love spicy chocolate so this combined two of my favoroties, the spiciness it definitely pops, so if you don't like spicy sweets this isn't for you, it definitely takes an acquired taste.Wish I would have taken pics to share, definitely will next time :).

We were scrambling for ideas for wedding favors after our original idea of succulents was untenable due to a slight problem keeping the succulents healthy. Thankfully we found Maria. She was easy to communicate with and after a few back and forth phone calls and emails we settled on our order for traditional Mexican wedding cookies (polvorones). She made us 60 small bags of 3 cookies each for a reasonable price within our necessary timeframe. More importantly than just being able to make them and package them in time, the cookies were delicious and and absolute hit among our wedding guests.

First of all, the cookies speak for themselves and they sure are delicious. I have only tried Maria's Mexican Wedding Cookies and we recently served them at our First Annual Service of Remembrance at my family's mortuary in San Francisco. Everyone raved about her cookies. You can definitely tell they are made at home with a lot of love put into them. They're light and not too sweet; perfect with a cup of coffee.I only wish her business was bigger so her cookies were more accessible. Keep doing what you're doing! I can't wait to try the Mayan Chocolate ones...

Our guests were thrilled with the Mexican wedding cookies we gave out as favors on our very special day. Thank you Maria for providing the delicious treats on relatively short notice! We were able to snag a bag and enjoyed them to the fullest the day after our wedding! I highly recommend Maria ' s Mexican wedding cookies and look forward to the next opportunity to savor them.

I bought Mexican Wedding Cookies and Mayan Chocolate cookies from Maria this past month. Holy cow! The Mexican Wedding cookies are the best I've ever had. They are buttery and moist and just the perfect bite size cookie. It tasted like my Mexican Grandma's family recipe if I ever had one. It was so delicious! I could probably eat a dozen in one sitting. And the Mayan chocolate cookies were amazing. It's chocolate goodness and spicy kick tasted great with a glass milk chocolate. I can't wait to order more from Maria. She's so sweet and accommodating. You can call her directly or email her for catering orders.

I ordered dozens of cookies for a large gathering, and was so, so, so sad when there weren't any left to take home. The Mexican wedding cookies are the most delicious and addictive I have ever eaten- (and I don't even have a huge sweet tooth.) I also loved the Mayan Chocolate, but even the mild was a little too spicy for the gueros at the party. :)

Maria makes some delicious alfajores (homemade cookie sandwiches stuffed with a dulce de leche filling). You can really taste the care she puts into creating these buttery yet surprisingly light desserts. They're also not too sweet, which is unique for these sorts of delights. I've had my share of alfajores from all over Latin America, but these are the best yet--I know she makes them from scratch in small batches, so the quality control is tight. Overall, highly recommended!
