You can find bags of spices here, and there's an entire aisle of individual curry boxes! I bought sesame seeds, mustard powder, Hakka instant noodles, and a Hakka stir fry seasoning mix. Fun to browse. Indian snacks (Chaat); huge bags of beans, flours, and rice; refrigerated mango lasso; chutneys; and attractive produce (i.e., potatoes, carrots, chili peppers, garlic, ginger, mint). Cashier and customers were friendly when I asked a question what bitternut leaves were.

Very helpful and kind at this store. Was greeted and asked if I needed anything and I told her of one particular item I needed and she walked me over to where those items were. They had everything else I was looking for and at good prices. I first went to a newer neighboring Indian grocer whose employees ignored me the whole time and never offered help. I put all my items back and visited Malabar instead. I will be back.

Visited this place for guava my wife's favorite fruit when we visited our friends in Folsom area.A good place for Indian grocery shopping more for spices, nuts, frozen indian food items, dry foods, and other items.Prices are reasonable given it location in Folsom which is more East of Bay Area. The store is clean and organized. The items are fresh. 4 vs 5 star due to less vegetable section. Also, not too much options on Indian snack items.Bottom line if you live in Folsom this is good place to shop for Indian grocery.

Malabar is my family's go-to place for anything Indian! We have had lots of great luck finding spices, grains, vegetables, and almost any ingredient for our Indian cooking adventures at home. Why pay double by going to the local Indian restaurant when you can make a lot of the main dishes at home?We love their paneer (go to the refrigerated section) and their frozen naan. Also love all their spices and how they organize things! Rice is located on the left side when you walk in. Very much a small market with dry goods but you can also find veggies and frozen items in the back.Customer service is good; but don't expect a Whole Foods customer service representative. Love coming here and the smells are delicious!

I love this place! They are very knowledgeable and helpful; whatever I'm looking for, they walk me right over to where it is. The spices are fresh, plentiful and a fraction of the price you'd pay at a regular grocery store.

I just 20 dollar worth of mangoes. I asked if they taste good but the lady in the store lied to me as it tasted horrible. same day when I tried to return the owner refused to take the item. I have never experienced such a behavior in any Indian groceries other than Malabar. please buy one and taste before buying in bulk. I will definetly avoid this store and will choose Reliance store located in folsom anytime. please avoid this store

Real cheap owner! Kept asking for cash instead of allowing me to swipe my card! Money is money, if you pay fee to the credit card company each time someone swipes their card, not my problem! I'm paying for groceries, you don't want my money so I will go else where!

Great place to find Indian spices and groceries. The prices are reasonable, and the selection broad. Malabar receives a daily supply of fresh vegetables, including okra, great for making bhindi. The owners will go out of their way to find or even order what you want. The store's in a great location, right across from Raley's off Bidwell.
