Main Event Bar & Grill

Nice little spot to get a snack and a beer after a walk. The golfers can be real douchebags. (We just ear hustle and laugh at them but I feel bad for the staff that have to deal with it.)

Had lunch here today for the first time, not sure why it took me so long! The Patty Melt was about as perfect as one can be and the Onion Rings were cooked to perfection. Maybe a little pricey, but with fast food prices climbing, it wasn't that far off. And the quality was definitely better. I can't think of a single ff places that makes a Patty Melt, either.The outside seating was very pleasant, no worries about being taken out by an errant golfball. Service was pleasant enough, no complaints. Now I can't wait to come back and try breakfast here!

First time here today, came with 2 friends and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our sandwiches were great, and the place was nice & relaxing. And those sweet potato fries are perfect!!Not sure how it is on the weekends, but a weekday lunch was nice there. Not fancy but a very nice setting on the golf course. Glad we tried it and we will be back.

Again, I hesitate making such a great recommendation for a restaurant, because I don't like to stand in line. . The setting on their very large deck is beautiful. The food is great and the beer and wine selection is first rate. I've been to a lot of golf courses and their restaurants. But overall, the is nothing to top The Main Event at Ancil Hoffman.

This place is great! The bar tender Kyle is so cool and nice! Very helpful, he answered all of the questions I had, and I had a lot! He recommended I had the bacon guacamole burger, and boy was I satisfied! The burger was a great size and the ingredients were fresh and tasty! I highly recommend coming in and having a beer and some food and saying hi to Kyle, the friendliest most helpful bar tender in the city! And Dakari in the back of the house cooks up some great quality food with wonderful presentation, you can really tell he cares about his work and the customers. All in all this is a great place, I'd come here everyday if I could!

This "bar and grill" is not recommended. Played 18 holes-hungry and thirsty decided to eat at course. Big mistake. Cashier was less than attentive and got the order wrong. Didn't ask any questions during transaction and bottom line he wasn't in his comfort zone. Perhaps a job running the ball picker cart on the range would be a better option. Steer clear.

I like the food at this little restaurant! The food is perfect when your golfing. The manager Derek is a nice guy and the staff are all friendly as well. They have a decent beer selection from local breweries to the big companies. They have all the hard alcohol you need. I normally eat the breakfast sandwiches which are the best!

Nice place. Clean and organized. Staff super nice - clear they want customers to have a good experience.Patty melt is fantastic. Other good also quality and served pretty fast. Love the views.

Food was great, burger cooked right. Hand pressed burger!!! Fries were good too...............................

Yum! Fun, casual ambience with great views of the golf course, and super close to Ancil Hoffman and the American River. Great place to go for a quick bite and brew, whether or not you golf the course. Dog friendly too (outside)!
