1/7/24Cute Japanese bakery that bakes fresh bread every day. Most popular for their Kobe cream bread. They have sweet and savory options. Prices are pretty cheap!Got the Kobe cream delight ($2.40), bacon and egg ($2.90) and iced coffee ($3.50). Super fresh and light!

Spent $17.40 for a Bacon & Egg, a Pizza Pan, 2 Lemon and Cream Pies, & a Berry Berry on October 19, 2024. You enter and line up through one door and pick what you want from each case and wait to be checked out. Line can be long at times but can move relatively quickly. Not much customer service and didn't get to ask many questions since the fast paced nature of their ordering service. Overall enjoyed my experience ordering & was able to get everything I was eyeing from pictures online when I went at about 9:20AM on a Saturday. The Bacon and Egg was nicely seasoned and the bread was very fluffy, which is very different from the other types of Bacon and Eggs I've had. Really enjoyed it. The Lemon and Cream Pie was very flakey and had a nice amount of tart lemon flavor. Overall really enjoyed the food. Inside is bare, no seating for eating your items. Very much an order and leave place

They were all good some more sweeter than other but overall this is on the more sweeter side bakery. The service was quick and the clerk will pick anything you point at even when u still deciding ... but overall good bakery in the area

I tried 4 different pastries. I asked which were the most popular and the employee happily explained their top sellers. It's not a sit down type of place, it's definitely a grab and go place. It's small and clean! They have sweet and savory options.

This place is Sacramento staple. IYKYK. Everything is delicious! A small family run business that keeps it simple. Only downside is sometimes they are unexpectedly closed due to leaving town or potential staffing. Occasionally, they have been closed for a few weeks at a time. Not often, it happens about once a year during holiday season or summer. This morning we picked up some light pastries to go with our Sunday coffee. This morning when husband picked up a few items he mentioned at 8am there were savory egg pastries. If you have not had them they are delicious. They must have not baked any that day since it was still early enough to not be sold out.

This is a cute little standalone bakery on Freeport, at the one end of the parking lot shared with Akebono. They do have an online shop if you want to see everything they offer: https://mahoroba-japanese-bakery.myshopify.com/collections/allI've never tried ordering in advance, usually trying my luck walking in the late morning/early afternoon. My favorites remain the Kobe Cream Delight, Strawberry Anko Cream, Chocolate Anpanman, and Maritozzo (give me any and all the filling flavors!). Each item is no more than $4 each and the bread quality remains good as I remember.

This bakery is the cool looking building in what I first took as an empty parking lot but it's definitely the correct spot for great tasting bread and pastries. The service was helpful and offered some recommendations for the top sellers and the interior isn't much for seating and dine in, but that's fine since we were able to pick up the items we wanted. I think that the quality of their bread is definitely better than the typical chain store of 85 degrees or J.J bakery / other Asian bakeries and it is clear with their attention to detail and flavors. I enjoyed every single selection and basically ate the entire loaf of white bread myself because it was just so delicious and I would probably be inclined to buy some as I drive back down once I leave Sacramento. I recommend this place for anyone who likes toast or bread in general. 5/5

Service was barely existent and the vibe from the workers was quite cold/unwelcoming. Stopped by around 10:30am on a Saturday and there was a short line that moved quickly. Plenty of parking as the bakery is located in a complex with several other restaurants/stores. The pastries we picked out were the smooth red bean an pan, raspberry cream cheese, clam chowder, almond twist(?), curry meatball, and sweet cream cheese. The raspberry cream cheese was my favorite! I'm a huge fan of pastries with fruit, and this was a flaky puff pastry surrounding sweet raspberry whipping cream and cream cheese. If I came back I would reorder this and maybe try the berry version.

They have a nice selection of pastries and snacks. They close early, so the earlier you get there, the more food they'll have available. I've gone a few times right before closing and they only had 2 different kinds pastries left. The prices vary depending on which pastry you get. Some are under $3 while others are close to $5 each. The bakery is small. It's a cute little building from the outside. It's located inside a parking lot, near Oto's and a dollar store.

Cute little local bake shop I wanted to check out and support. Was visiting Sacramento for work and came here in the morning before one of my sites. The staff assisting me was friendly and answered my questions with a smile. Great selection of pastries and a few savory breads. Everything I got tasted great. I got one bacon & egg, anpanman (chocolate cream filled), cream filled with a strawberry and a little bit of red bean, sweet cream cheese filled, and Kobe cream. All the breads were super soft and cream filings were not overly sweet in the best way. I will definitely come back next time I have work here!
