It was destined for me to end up here on Valentine's Day. I initially missed my reservation at another place. I called so many other places and they were all booked up until I ran into Lola's! They told me they were taking walk in so we rushed over there. Lucky enough, they sat us down within minutes. This place is so pretty! I love the esthetics. Love the dim lighting it was very fitting for the occasion. They had a fixed menu which was amazing. My partner and I loved it. The drinks top tier. That coquito was AMAZING! My partner or shall I say FIANCE! Ended up purposing to me & he did express that that staff was very helpful and accommodating. Lola's will always hold a special place in my heart. No only because of the occasion. But everything was truly amazing! Thank you to all the staff this Valentine's Day! & kudos to the chef!!!!

I have been wanting to go here for a couple months now but their hours of operation haven't been working with my schedule I will preface by saying I am not Puerto Rican but a few years back I had my fair share of Puerto Rican food. This place was not only so adorable inside but the selection of food was amazing and their was out of this world

My family and I came to Lola's for my brother's birthday dinner and we all were impressed! We hadn't really tried Puerto Rican cuisine before, so it was different but nevertheless yummy! Our server (a younger guy) was very kind and helpful, and answered all our questions. My favorite dishes were the appetizer potatoes and sweet plantains.

I visited Lola's lounge recently and had a wonderful experience. The sangria was delicious and refreshing. I tried the empanadas and they were also good. The service was fantastic. The wait staff was personable and friendly. This is my second time at Lola's lounge and I will definitely be back. I love the vibe it is very much reminiscent of a very cool laid-back, intimate lounge.

I've been eager to visit Lola's for a while. First of all, the parking situation is terrible. There are tow-away signs on the street, and the parking lot across the street is reserved for other businesses, making it seem impossible to find parking. However, Lola's has a very cute interior and an even cuter outdoor patio. I initially thought Lola's served only Puerto Rican food, but it turns out to be a mix of various Hispanic cuisines. Our waitress was very kind and even gave us complimentary celebratory drinks since we were celebrating. Please note that I've never had Puerto Rican food before, so I have nothing to compare it to. My review is based solely on my taste buds and not on authenticity. We started with beef empanadas and found them to be very tasty. My friend loved her mofongo and found it authentic. My husband ordered the guisado, something I didn't think he'd enjoy, but he found it flavorful and delicious. I got the pastelón, which is lasagna made with plantains instead of noodles. Wow! I was surprised by how much I loved it. Ground turkey can sometimes lack the flavor of ground beef, but this was perfect. It had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. We will definitely be going back.

We very much enjoyed our dinner at Lola last night. We happened in during happy hour so were able to enjoy a few discounted beverages. In all honesty, we had eaten here when they were in Elk Grove years ago but had not been to the new location. Very cool vibe with some street parking available. We opted for the paella for two. The dish arrived and was surprisingly full of shellfish. We actually had to search for the chicken and ask about the chorizo. There are teeny tiny little bits of indiscernible chorizo throughout the rice. An interesting albeit odd cooking choice. We also were denied the crispy paella rice as the dish didn't quite cook long enough to achieve the socarrat. Service was friendly and very efficient. Maia took excellent care of us to the point of bringing us some "secret sauce" for our dish. It definitely added some nice flavor. All in all a positive experience that makes us look forward to sampling some more items from the menu.

I don't think I've been more disappointed in a restaurant I've looked forward to trying. Having passed this place for months I finally may it a point to eat here and boy did I waste my money and leave starving! DON'T LET THESE GOOD REVIEWS FOOL YOU! The Food: Having ordered a bit of everything how in the world was EVERYTHING bland. The only thing on my place that was semi tasty was the plantains. For the most part nothing had seasoning. Which let's be honest who would think a Puerto Rican restaurants dishes would lack flavor?! Certainly not me. Despite the lack of seasoning I noticed not a single salt/pepper shaker on any tables. What was ordered: -Empanadas- chicken 10/10 unlike everything else ordered these were actually well seasoned and came out piping hot. The sauce that accompanied them and the salad were also very good. -Chorizo Mac and Cheese- How .... genuinely HOW was this not seasoned?! -Pernil Tacos *Pork tacos, white rice, beans literally just OKAY at best. The meat was so tender but the seasoning and flavor was missing. -Puerto Rican special: I don't think I have been more disappointed in a meal to be honest. The pork was very tender but again lacked flavor. The rice and peas had ZERO flavor, the beans were okayISH to say the least. The best thing on the plate was the plantains. -Chupacabra (drink) meh. I can honestly say I will never return. As someone who has had Puerto Rican food before please don't take this place as a representation of what this food should taste like because it is 100% NOT! The service: From our server being the bartender and the hostess multitasking as the other server with a room full of customers the service was as good as it could be with both ladies juggling so many tables. The servers did the best they could but if I'm being honest the service was just mid(again they did the best they could with so many patrons)Overall man I'm so sad to say this place really sucked but it did. So unfortunate to say the least but cest la vie. For the copious amount of wonderful restaurants in Sacramento and the surrounding areas don't waste your time, money, and appetite on this place.
