Las carretas Mexican & salvadorian food

I went the last week to get some pork tamales for my kids lunch, they just got bored of the school lunch and I wanted them to have something different. They love those pork tamales, the taste was amazing. Thanks

Wow! Amaaaaazing food! You have to try the pork and cheese pupusas, they are so flavorful and I love that the cheese was a little crispy on the edges. And the Gordita! The shell was perfection make sure to get the Al pastor with pineapple, it takes it to another level. But be sure to eat it before the bottom gets soggy from the beans. Fish tacos and nachos were great too, very generous on the portion sizes. The place itself is small inside, with a nice bar on the side and view of the kitchen. They do have a chip bar with a few tasty salsas that we enjoined while waiting for our food. The waiter was very helpful in explaining the dishes and making recommendations. The chef was outstanding and so gracious for our family coming to dine. We will be back soon! Can't wait to try more!! Ohhhh and get the champurrado drink, soooo thick and creamy and comforting. Perfect for dessert.

Service is great and so is the food. Found this little gem of a restaurant on Yelp and wanted to try the pupusas. The pupusas are yum! And big portions too. And you can get 2 for $10.00, not a bad deal for what you get. We tried the bean and cheese, cheese and jalapeño, pork and cheese and chorizo and cheese. Plus they have a help yourself chip and salsa bar that is complimentary. Before your pupusas come out, they also bring out more salsa and pickled cole slaw/cabbage. Everything was great, and our drinks were routinely refilled. Dining area is clean, nice Mexican music playing in the background. Plan on coming again.

Came here with my cousin for brunch and it was wonderful. The staff are so sweet, the food is delicious, and the restaurant is cozy. Prices are great for what you get and those pupusas were fantastic!

Earlier this week we decided to try this new neighborhood taqueria and I am so glad we did! The food was delicious and the service was great. We had their menudo, asada street taco, jalapeño and cheese pupusa, pork pupusa and the regular carnitas burrito. Fresh flowers on the table and around the restaurant is such a nice touch. Had to make a visit the very next day so our daughter could try the chorizo and cheese pupusa and the jalapeño and cheese pupusa. Can't wait to go back and try the chile verde and the chilaquiles.

Great service, friendly staff! Mexican food was on point, and delicious. Pupusas weren't amazing, so I would skip. Rest of the menu was great, we had tamales, sopes, tacos, and a torta! Cute spot, very clean! Will be back for sure!

One of our favorite pupusa places when we lived in Vacaville was Pupuseria La Chicana in Woodland. (We literally would drive 1hour to get pupusas) Since we've moved to Carmichael 5 years ago, we have tried a few pupusa places and none compares to Pupuseria La Chicana til now. This place did not disappoint and so happy it's less than 2miles from the house. We ordered pork & cheese pupusa and the meat to masa ratio was perfect and flavor was great. Better than a few places we've tried in Sacramento area. We also ordered 1 pork tamales and 1 chicken tamales. Both were great and different favors but I personally loved the chicken tamales. Prices aren't bad. Guy at the register was nice. Please check them out!!

I have been searching for a good pupusa spot for a long time, and i'm so glad i finally found it. The pupusas here are so legit. I've already been here twice in one week since i discovered them. I also tried their chorizo taco. The tortillas were hand made. The green salsa was excellent.Their churro with filling was good too, and not overly sweet.

Excellent food, worth the drive. When I try a new place, I try a few different items to see what I like, but in this case everything I got I liked!I got the Huarache with pastor and piña,a Pupusa with pork and cheese (which came with a side of pickled cabbage), and lastly Champurrado. These are items you don't see everywhere, so I wanted to try them. Very tasty, and filling.The service was great, something I don't look for, but I notice when it's exceptional. In general I care about food a lot more than service. But having both made the experience good enough for me to feel compelled to write a review. I will be coming back to try more of the menu :) P.s. I liked the music and clean interior. It's simple, good vibes.

Delicious food! The tortillas are so fresh and melt in your mouth. Delicious pupusas and everything is a great value. Some of the best food around.
