Wow! What a wonderful dining experience. Unique delicious cuisine served in a creative way. Come hungry because the portions are very generous. The service was also fantastic. We felt we were treated like family. If you live in, or are visiting Sacramento, don't miss this place.

I must start with the amazing staff. The ladies there this evening could not have been warmer. While we had a reservation, there was still plenty of seating. They reserved a table by the window right next to the neon lights. Pass. The bruschetta appetizer, while a healthy portion was over run with garlic my husband ordered the sausage tray, with a variety of sausages. He thought it was just OK. They also serve four pieces of bread with butter to the table. I ordered the chicken schnitzel, which comes with roasted rosemary, potatoes, or potato salad and tomato cucumber side. I opted for the rosemary potatoes. Word to the wise.. go for the potato salad. The roasted potatoes were way overcooked and no flavor. My chicken schnitzel was a thinly horizontally, sliced chicken breast two piecesdeep-fried,, with two lemon wedges. The lemon juice over the schnitzel was good. But the chicken was so over fried it was very chewy. The tomatoes and cucumber side are extremely salty. The decor is mainly old Bavarian alcohol signs well the restaurant itself is small. It is quaint. For dessert, we opted for the tiramisu which tasted more like a putting ice cream cake. Pass on the tiramisu go for the cannoli. The best part of this place was the service and staff. We will give it a second chance and have something different. Possibly the pizza. It looked awesome.

The staff here are always so friendly and quick to assist. This is a small spot, but the food quality is really great. The food comes out piping hot and well presented. There is also an extensive European beer and wine menu. I keep meaning to go back to try the pizza as everyone around us had them and they looked so good. Thanks for always doing right by your customers and being so friendly. Combined with really great food, it makes going here worth it.

My first visit to La Trattoria Bohemia was a great experience. We didn't have a reservation so we got sat in the back patio. The October evening wasn't so cold and they had curtains up and heaters on. My friend and I went to try their vegan lasagna for the Vegan Chef Challenge. My friend pronounced the lasagna magnificent and hoped they would put it in their regular menu. I got the sausage platter which truly lived up to its name. It had 2 sausages (bratwurst & weibwurst) along with a very generous helping of cabbage and potato pancakes. Suffice it to say, we both enjoyed our meals which we paired with a dark Czech beer. However, our second meal didn't go as well. We learned our lesson and made reservations to secure a table inside. My friend called ahead to ask if they had the vegan lasagna. They didn't but had vegan cheese for either pasta or pizza. When we arrived, we promptly seated and beer orders taken. My friend once again inquired about the vegan cheese. Our server want to the kitchen and assured us they had vegan cheese. She ordered the fettucine and I got the chicken picate. My meal arrived in the same sized platter as the sausage platter. It had 2 generous portions of chicken along with roasted potatoes. However, my friend's meal was a bust. When it arrived, there was no cheese, just fettucine noodles with vegetables, no sauce. We asked about this and they said they ran out of vegan cheese. We were incredulous because we asked about it right before we ordered and they told us they had it. They also charged her full price for a dish that had no protein. The inside of the restaurant is very small with tables practically touching each other. It was like playing a same of twister trying to get in and out of our table by the corner. If you are seated near the entrance, which we were, each time the door opened, you'd get blasted by cold wind. Parking in this area is a total pain. I usually give myself at least 15 minutes to try and find it. Sometimes I'll get luck during the weekdays, but the weekends are another story.

Loved it!Let's start with my family and I went there during Ocktoberfest. The lederhosen was in full effect...Everywhere! Keep in mind this is a Czech place. It was kinda cool still though.I heard a lot of praise for this place so I was naturally very interested. I saw that they had a picture of stroganoff on their yelp so I naturally yearned for that. Unfortunately that is a seasonal dish.A little bummed out, the server offered a dish that wasn't on the menu, LIQUID BACON. He mentioned that it would be similar to stroganoff so I gave it a shot. Well, it's not anything like stroganoff but it was good. It was a pork fillet covered in melted cheese sprinkled with herbs, I ordered it with pasta and it came with asparagus wrapped in pancetta. It was delicious and very filling. All of the dishes come in a metal baking pan sitting on top of a wood cutting board. Its a fun presentation and all the servings were very large. Definitely more than 1 serving. They serve their dishes with fresh bread as well. We all ordered main entrees which were all very meat focused. They have several pasta dishes, soups, salads and appetizers. We tried out the potato pancakes and that was a really nice treat. I topped it off with one of their czech beers and it was an amazing cultural dining experience.I would definitely recommend it but if you do go, it is a smaller place and it gets quite busy and loud, just a FYI. However with the great service and Czech dishes they offer it is well worth your time to go check it out!

This is good eating. A small, neighborhood restaurant, everything we ate was best of. The exception here, and it was really a matter of preference, I think, was the chicken paprikash. We were turned off by the amount of harissa flavor. Maybe I just don't like chicken paprikash? The Bavarian Goulash and cheese tortellini with aglio e oglio should not be missed.

I don't normally leave reviews, but this place really skimpt on my meal when I placed a take out order. I ordered the beef goulash for $26 and got 5 small chunks of beef, a small side of red cabbage and probably like 10 green beans. Plus my "Czech dumplings" never made it to my plate. Maybe it would have been different to dine in, but I don't think I'll give it another try. My father in laws Fettuccini Alfredo looked ok, but that was super overpriced as well, $26 for pasta is crazy! Paesano's in Midtown is far superior for Italian food and not as expensive.

La Trattoria is great! We really appreciated the authentic Czech-Italian decor and the signature Czech comfort food type dishes. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable, with ample meat in the dishes. The beer selection is excellent, including several Czech beers and some other European options like Delirium Tremens. The dishes were flavorful and crowd pleasers. Think creamy sauces over casserole type dishes. Dishes we had were the chicken paprikash, fettuccini alfredo, and pork scallopini--all delicious with a similar tender meat style. For such great signature dishes, there were some things I felt could be better. We had the La Trattoria Salad which we found rather simple. Another small area for improvement--the bread came with firm disposable butter packets (almost unspreadable), and I felt a restaurant with such great meals would benefit from softened butter to compliment the bread.Nonethless, overall a great restaurant and glad I finally got to try it. I hear the pizza is excellent and I look forward to trying it.

What a wonderful gem! Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty, but very nice inside. The decor and seating looks very elegant. Special shoutout to marlen and Marcos for making our visit spectacular and accommodating! They were super friendly, attentive, and just overall amazing servers. I ordered some calamari and it was perfect, I love that it actually tastes like calamari and not just bread. We also settled on the chefs special and it was superb. Their pasta is made fresh in house and you can just taste the difference from other Italian restaurants. I added some pepper flakes and parmesan and it made it all the better. I would've loved to try some Czech dishes, but that will have to be for another visit!

I can't believe I haven't written a review before now for this great spot. I've been eating here for years. I started with their pizzas long ago. They were always my go to dishes for years but I've finally opened myself up to their fabulous Czech meals. I can't recommend these enough to all of you. The meals are plentiful and reasonably priced since you can get two meals out of one dish. I've tried the chicken schnitzel, chicken piccata and the beef goulash. The sides you get with each are equally tasty and are great accompaniments to the mains. Service has always been friendly and prompt and the ambiance is like being in a European eatery. Don't forget to try the Czech beers. Yum!
